Guitarist REACTS to "A Star is Born" 

The "Bad Accent Counter" gets messed up around the 7:45 mark. Please consider this my Bad Editing Apology #1.

Gaga is awesome and all songs were sung live. Gaga demanded all of the singing be done live. She also wrote or cowrote most of the songs and did the sound track. The concert scenes were all done in front of actual crowds. Some were done at coachella with her fans, some were done at music festivals, and a small bit was done during her Joanne tour. She also used her actual choreographer, hair, make up staff in the movie. Another tidbit......Willie Nelson's son is the long haired guy with Bradley on stage. THey worked together for months in preparation for this movie.

Lady Gaga’s close friend passed away after a battle with cancer just a few hours before they filmed the last scene. They were going to postpone filming but the friends husband convinced Lady Gaga to film it because that’s what her friend would have wanted.

I've never been a Gaga fan at all until I heard her do a tribute to Julie Andrews on a award show think Academy Awards back in like 2015 and she blew me away!! I had no idea she's a trained opera singer and it just gave me chills it was so beautiful she liked beautiful. She changed my perspective on her. Never knew she had that range and so glad she started doing more like that. Then this Shallow...beautiful!!

Love this reaction video. You said a few times throughout the movie "I think she is really performing there", all of Gaga's and Bradley's performances were done live. Also, the last song of the movie was shot within an hour, she had just lost her real friend to cancer not even 30 minutes prior. She's so talented.

You might like her Joanne album. It’s listed as soft rock and country pop.

18:15 - Yes it is him singing. An actor who can sing (Cooper) and a Singer who can act (Gaga). Not only that... it was all recorded live. They weren't miming to pre-recorded tracks. Phenomenal film

Bradley did learn to play and sing for this movie. All songs were sung live. Not sure he was playing guitar live each time though.

I hope you'll do more Gaga reactions. You got a new subscriber. I recommend you two albums: Joanne and Cheek To Cheek. Joanne is a stripped-down, pop rock, soft rock, and dance-pop record with country elements, I think you would like it. Cheek to Cheek is a collaborative album by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, it's a jazz album. If you'll like it, then you can listen to her other albums that have music genres such as like pop, dance pop, synth pop, electronic rock, techno, EDM, etc.

His southern accent is fine... I grew up in S Carolina, went to school in Georgia... and yes, his accent is on point.

The scene where they are snuggled in bed and she's telling Jack the record label just up and decided to cancel the tour is one of the best acted scenes in movie history. She's lying and reassuring him it's all fine. As viewers we know the real reason is because she wanted him with her. Meanwhile, he's pretending it's OK, but we know he thinks it's his fault and he's ruining her shot. Both of them are lying to the other because they love each other and want to protect each other. It's so... fucking... heartbreaking.

I do hope someone commented, but Bradley did learn these guitar riffs for the movie!

This movie takes hold of you pretty early on and builds masterfully in steps. Re. southern accent in Arizona... having lived in Arizona and neighboring Nevada for a combined 10 years, I can say that long time residents generally have a neutral 'accent' to their speech, not what you'd associate as 'southern drawl'. Editing was masterful to the point of making marginal 51:11 musicianship believable. That's movie magic and this is a magical movie.

Bradley wasn't doing a southern accent, he's doing Sam Elliot. When I first saw this it was driving me crazy because I kept thinking "why the hell is he acting like Sam Elliot?", head bowed, gravel voice, using the squinty side eye... Then he talks about his brother raising him and it turns out it is Sam! Oh, now I get it! Later I saw an interview with Brad and Sam and Brad said he probably freaked Sam out in their meeting about the movie because he played a recording of himself doing Sam Elliot. Good catch on Dice, almost no one recognized him at all. I didn't until I watched a second time and his voice sounded familiar.

I can't believe you actually thought she was drunk while singing. It's called acting, it's part of the script.

I assume the songs u didn't like were the pop upbeat ones. They were actually composed to sound generic with no substance cause it represents how she was being controlled by her manager to pander towards being publicly famous compared to when she was still with Bradley earlier on the movie.

I've always appreciated the scene where Jack plays the Pretty Woman guitar. The guy singing is making it about him rather than a Roy Orbison tribute... holding notes, stretching out the intro. Jack's response to that is to hold the notes on the guitar intro and just give a basic F-U to the vocalist. 🤣🤣

Just found this reaction video, love it. I believe Bradley did learn how to play, but what we hear is Lukas Nelson playing. Nelson also wrote some of the songs along with Jason Isbell. Cooper also hung out a lot with Eddie Vedder and spent time with Jack White in preparation for this

The backing band is Lukas Nelson and the Promise Of The Real and IIRC Lukas Nelson actually played all the lead guitar parts, I'm sure in interview they said the live show scenes were played without a PA system as they didn't want the songs leaked, they then took these recordings and used some quite technical production to get a real concert sound, they wanted to get an authentic sound based on where the camera was ie on stage4, backstage and various parts of the crowd, there is a video on youtube of the production team explaining how they did it. The Glastonbury scene was filmed just before Kris Kristofferson's set and I believe Lars Ulrich (Metallica) did some of the camera work.

Drewberg, sad, if you had the ability to put your narcissism aside for a second. You would find an unbelievable movie with an unbelievable soundtrack. It’s sad that someone with your experience supposedly expertise missed out on such a great film and a great soundtrack. I can get that sometimes you’re trying to follow some of the guitar pieces, but, that’s a different type of video.

Maybe u can try tracto her jazz albums, or a couple live performances like “the sound of music” live on the Oscar’s… tribute to David Bowie or the national anthem are so many performances not very “pop” Edit: react to the two lives performances of shallow one in the Oscar’s and the other to the Grammys with a different version of solo Gaga

It is inconceivable that you are a musician and you know nothing about Lady Gaga, who is one of the most famous Artists on Earth. I could, quite literally, ask a random canine who she is, and the dog could give me her catalog, lol. She is classically trained, and is beyond dedicated to her craft.
