Gumball 3000, Start of Rally!

I love that chrome Gallardo. I would never let addidas put a sticker on my car if I had one of these.

They are easily removed with the right equipment. They dont damage paintwork because they are just stickers. Any resedue left from the stickers can be removed from the body with a retail product such as goo-gone. The spyker you saw might have competed in the gumball but i do'nt remember seeing one this 2007. The stickers otherwise known as decals can actualy be purchased from the official online gumball store. He might just have stuck the decals on for a laugh or to pose as a gumballer.

As far as i can remember, he has used an M3 many times for the rally. I guess he just loves his M3s all too much.

It was a lush car, but the driver didn't excite by revving his Lambo. The majority of the other cars there knew what it was about by putting on a show!

to add, he didnt actually die in the accident. he died in the hospital from a heart attack from the trauma of the accident.

The start was in London. This particular Gumball ran through eastern Europe. The rallies go all over the globe.

Yeah, I was a little dissapointed in that too. Just seeing one of those in person would be cool.

Well one reason for the "excessive distance" is to drive through other countries and experience them. Also to make the trip last etc, and when your driving like many in gumball a supercar, checkpoints can be reached farily quicklky. I did the SBA 2008 (Student Brakeaway) otherwise known as the studet gumball and my team and over 130 other cars did 1600 miles driving through europe over 6 days.

id be scared to drive those amazing cars around :P

it was actually the porsche with black wheels infront of the other one that caused gumball to get called off. and if you dont believe me watch the video - 2007 gumball 3000 crash - fatality

No they don't leave the stickers on. No one is stopping them if they want to, but generally the Gumballers remove the stickers after the rally.

Yeah it was no. 74. The stripes on the side are different on both porches. The one in the crash had red-blue-red, the other Porsche had blue-red-blue. Look in the crash photo and you can tell that it was no.74.

To also be fair in my previous little rant I stated that I didnt do my research. But here is some research for those who do not believe F1 would kill a veyron. Team Honda currently built a Formula one car in compliance with FIA F1 regulations and is capable of reaching speeds of 256.23 mph. Which is enough to contend with a Veyron.

i read the letter from max on the gumball website and it appears that there will be a 2008. at least i hope. its sad that someone died but honestly, this has been going on for how many years now?! be glad that that has only been one fatality.

To a degree, you are right. Having a Bugatti is no guarantee of winning, tho, smart preparation is better. Irritated police, lack of available parts in third world countries, no spare tire, etc handicaps the fast ones. In fact a truck won in 1999.

There was more sound coming from some of the porches than the sound from the Bugatti. The woman driving the Bugatti didn't rag it at all, hence there was no noise from the Bugatti which is disappointing.

The #74 Techart Porsche 911 Turbo at 2:58 is the one that ends the rally. It crashed head on into a VW Golf in Macedonia. It killed both people in the Golf. It's a rally not a race. There's no reason why it had to happen.

Gumball 3000 must be deleted as it's done. It was too dangerous and i saw some Exotic and legendary cars (250GTO, 275 Calfornia, Enzo, Zonda...) in serious risk of damage and distruction...

Depends on who you read, I guess. Plenty of quotes say that Chris Eubank in a Peterbilt truck was the 'unofficial' winner in '99. The "equal" comment was that, unlike Nascar or Grand Prix and all their handicapping, ANY VEHICLE is considered an equal of any other vehicle. Hell, if you got the entry fee you could probably enter a bathtub with wheels and a jet engine.

The gumball is a rally not a race. In other words, it is not a competition what so ever. The only prize at the end is the spirit of gumball, which is a trophy. (self explanatory really) Everything else you said is your own opinion and im not going bother making remarks on that.

Your very wrong. No Gumball participant died. The old man and women died in the VW Golf. The driver died on route to hospital.. & the passenger (the woman) died in hospital 2 days later.

how wouldnt they mess up the paint or soemthing? or are they like easy to remove? i saw one like in the middle of december with gumball stickers in CA usa. it was a spyker had all the stickers. im assuming he just wanted to keep them on
