For "ONCE" the Cops did it right! They ran toward the sound of gunfire and went chest to chest and muzzle to muzzle with this gunman armed only with handguns. They moved aggressively and brought fire to bear against a heavily armed assailant without regard to their personal safety. This what the police are supposed to do instead of "Policing" law abiding citizens. Whoever hired, screened, and trained these guys deserves to be commended as does the Police Chief. These cops should be decorated.
Important note: The rifle used by the perpetrator wasn't an 'AK-47' assault rifle, it was a semi-auto only variant of it called a MAK-90. It has to be fully automatic to be classified as an assault rifle.
How come the bad guy has an AK-47 assault rifle and the deputy has an AR-15 for sharp shooting? One sounds nice and neat and the other sounds scary. The narrator is a d bag.
idk what u r saying but i have a guess. ak47 is much more powerful but it heats fast and has lots of recoil. ar15s are very accurate. ive shot both from 50 yards.. i think i hit the target 15/30 times with the ak 5 in the kill 1 ar 30/30 shots 20 in the kill about 5 bullseye. so ar is a superior weapon alone but against 9 mil handguns it would be very scary.
Imabeatyouman You are correct. But I was trying to say how they make the AK sound scary and the AR sounds nice and friendly. BTW at 50 yards I can shoot an AR and AK with the same tight groups. Its not until you get out to 300 yards that I can start telling them apart.
Arkansas oooh i see. well fuck hat off to you.. u shoot better with an AR at 300 than me with my 243. or .22 at 300... they just make it scary as a propaganda tactic. an AR 15 represents MURICA in its glory and ak47 represents scary badguys... at least thats how our media portrays it. so ya propaganda
Imabeatyouman I remember this story. They left out the part about a normal guy coming to stop the criminal and getting shot in the head for his courage. Not one mention of him. I guess they were to busy saying AK-47 assault rifle to talk about the facts.
There's actually a better video out there where a father/son team with an ak take down a couple cops on a highway during a stop. This is why I'm not selling my ak, it's durable, reliable, and gets the job done within intermediate ranges.
His reign of terror was ENDED by an officer with an AR-15 and THANK GOD for that man so willing to put his LIFE on the line to stand up for the rest of the citizens in his community. Thank those others that were wounded that ran into HARMS WAY to protect LIFE at the court house with handguns. That is what HERO's DO. AWESOME JOB GUYS !!!
As far as I remember, only 2 parts had to be machined on my ar-15 to make it like our m-16's in school cadets. Also in the 80's ar's were about $1500 and m-16 were about $3500.
Someone here said that the cops "had brass balls". If we want to be completely rational about this situation we must also say that the mass murderer had "brass balls" as well. From this we can determine that having "brass balls" is not necessarily a desirable trait in and of itself.
Yeah, well I don't expect to be able to own a select-fire M-4 anytime soon, but I do want to get one of those Ruger 10-22's with a built in suppressor. That's something I've dreamed of for years. But hey, I suppose the other could happen! I never thought I would see suppressors legal in my lifetime, so I guess all hope is not lost!
No mention of the CCW holder who engaged the shooter and was unfortunately also gunned down, but he did delay the shooter long enough for police to arrive in force.
Just want to clear up some misinformation coming from the video. The narrator says he was firing a fully-automatic AK-47. He was actually using a MAK-90, which is a semi-automatic rifle styled after the AK.
The AR-15 is not a sniper weapon -- though pretty accurate. Very much like the M-16 used on the battle front today except it is semi-automatic. 3500 fps muzzle velocity though and will go through cars, bullet-proof vests, etc. Round is only about 22 caliber (.223/5.56mm) but lots of powder and so power behind each shot.
Some weapons are designed with enough precision that they can fire accurately enough that they can be "sniper weapons" and some can't. By accuracy I mean that if the weapon were in a vice then consecutive shots fired through it would all land within a small circle (inside a building where there is no wind or other factors to contend with -- including consistency of the ammo). The AK-47 could never be outfitted as a sniper weapon. Not so sure about the AR-15 (or M-16) use as a long range sniper weapon but there are a number of versions of it. I have the M-16 version (Colt - full auto version). I would say the US Barrett M82 is a good example of a "Sniper Weapon" -- one outfitted or originally designed for long range accurate enemy elimination.
A police officers sole intent in a situation like this is to stop the threat immediately, regardless of the weapon. If the suspect has employed deadly force an officer must make sure it DOESN'T happen again. That is why most departments use hollow-point bullets, for maximum effect but minimal collateral damage.
Any of the kalashnikov family of rifles is considered an assault rifle. The Kalashnikov is actually built in several different countries, and has countless different "kalashnikopies" as you would call them. However, the caliber and design of the rifle deems it's assault status.
AK's AR15's and M16's all fall under the same category, "assault rifle" due to the fact that they ARE semi-automatic, and can be modified, and all can fire armor peircing rounds.
Good take down, but the cop that shot didn't take in account he had several friendlies in the back of his target....he got really lucky he didn't hit the other cops/civilians.
Yes, I know about Operation Fast and Furious. However, that is only a very small percentage of the firearms used in Mexico. M16s are extremely rare and expensive on the civilian market due to Hughes Amendment of '86. Any M16s that make it from the US to Mexico would have to be from some kind of military armory, which would be out of the scope of any "gun regulations". Bottom line is strengthening "gun regulations" will not affect gun trafficking in Mexico.
it isn't 'poor' all you'd need is a longer barrel and it's a good sniper rifle. AWESOME kill by the cop. The big boss man came and ended him. That guy should get a promotion.
Those were the only firearms they probably had on hand at that time. You cant go in a real emergency looking for other firearms while there is people being killed. My friend is an RCMP officer (Royal Canadian Mounted Police), and they are trained to use what is on hand, from hanguns, to shotguns, and ARs. Even though we still dont have alot of crime in Canada, our officers are trained to do the same thing.
seriously, a goddamned building full of officers and no one had a rifle or a shotgun not even in the patrol units. they had to wait for a certain officer with an AR to show up... wow just wow. still took major balls to run and try to stop him with handguns though brave men thats for sure. just should've been better equiped.
