This is so true in California. They make guns that are allowed to be owned in the state both rare to obtain and expensive when they are found. This pretty much removes any of the poor classes from ever owning a LEGAL firearm in California which is the states intent. I was a typical California never thinking I needed a gun,and for the first 42 years of my life this was true. Until one afternoon I had a home invasion that changed everything. Luckily I got the better of the man that broke into my home while I was in the shower. When I called the police and they were REFUSING to come out and get this guy I was SHOCKED! After 45 minutes of arguing with the 911 operator and her supervisor they finally said they were sending a patrol car. Well that car came 2 hours later,and the officer that showed up had a very crappy you're wasting my time attitude. I told him that if they had come when I called they could have caught this bastard,NOW he will end up at some later date killing some little old lady gardening in her yard for her purse. I told the officer to his face that he showed me the police are not there to protect us. So I told him he just sold another gun. The next day I began my quest to purchase a hand gun,which was a long road as I wrote above the DOJ and California limit what you can legally obtain in California and what they do allow is either always sold out or prohibitively expensive.

A friend of mine lives in Chicago. 3 times his garage was broken into and all tools stolen . 1 time he actually caught them. Grabbed his glock, called police, then held them at gunpoint without discharging a single round. Was a legal gun owner of a legal gun. He just happened to move to Chicago. He was arrested and in jail for a week just because he moved into Chicago where hand guns were outlawed. Chicago police enforced this mercilessly.

You then get people who worry when they see a policeman, even when they haven't broken a law. Or you get people who won't protect themselves with a concealed handgun because they're afraid they might get stopped by the police. Or they think that politicians could possibly 'grab all the guns'. Or you get people who won't carry a gun because they'll be stereotyped or potentially killed, even though they're exercising a lawful right. People who react this way are already terrorized by their media and government. Armed or not.

good info.. its always important to tell truth in history. I'm a retired U.S. Marine 21.years of service I deployed overseas.. spent many cold nights and hit days in training. in the world's hell holes.. learned the deadly craft of rifle' grenades pistol and shotgun and machine gun warfare as well as Artillery and Martial arts. close combat.. etc.. etc.. etc.. I exit service honorably and in my own hometown of Los Angeles California I am more of a target than I was while I was in a Marine corps uniform and why?? for no other reason than I am a black male.. sad but true.. I am a gun owner California native. no criminal record.. hard working good natured man competitive shooter.. father.. dog owner... Christian.. but in racist America im a target. I have less rights than illegal aliens... I have less rights than islamic immigrants. I have less rights than someone who burns the U.S. colors. (they claim 1st ammendemnt) if I stop someone from burning the U.S. flag (believe me I would if I ever see it in person) then I am the one the cops would arrest... being black in America is an experience that only muslims can now appreciate they are seeing a small taste of the 400 years of hatred and racism in America based upon skin color. I own guns because I choose too i am free i am a U.S. citizen and i Love my brother right i love the U.S. Marine Corps and it's veterans I love all U.S. vets... I loce MY country I love My state Of California (even though I hate it's politics) i Love Jesus. I love people... I hate the sinful nature of mankind and I carry forearms in defense of my home, my life, and my family's life. I hope I never need to use a fire arms to defend my life. This video failed to mention the racist California 1967 law to ban loaded open carry to prevent the black panthers from carrying loaded firearms in there protest. A law in which the NRA helped write for California.

My dad is 22 year marine veteran . He is from Afghanistan originally and fought for the us army in afghanistan and Iraq. He suffered from ptsd for a long time and now he is doing 90% better. He works to help wounded warriors in combat. He always always advocates for gun rights. It is our right to bear arms and protect ourselves from threat. I will always be grateful for being trained and knowing gun safety. I owe my father for that.

ABOUT TIME. I knew this for a while, but needed someone to help as a way to verify this.

To my understanding of the Law of the Land... The Second Amendment is the only permit law-abiding Americans should need to exercise their right to keep and bear arms . . . period. ANY licensing requirement in itself constitutes an infringement of the Bill of Rights and the 2nd Amendment, because every eligible person that is applying for a "LICENSE" is hereby relinquishing his/her 2nd amendment Right once and for all by turning into a "Privilege". And as many a people know... a privilege is revocable by the moods and whims of most any UN-ELECTED ARMCHAIR-FARTING "activist" in the appropriate public office position, or so called Law Enforcement official along the road, with the possibility to have his "Privilege" never ever restored again.

You should have covered systems that are still used today to infringe on gun rights such as Pistol Purchase Permits like in my state of North Carolina. It was started so that the sheriff could deny minorities or anyone they didn't like the right to own handguns.

I was the victim of false accusation. I didn't get a court hearing and no one listened to my side of the story. But just like that, my right to keep and bear arms was gone because the government said so.

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting and often the best way to do this is simply arm yourself and make it known to your enemies and they will retreat and give up without you ever needing to firs a shot. They are looking for a victim so have a survivor mentality and you will no longer be worth it to them and they will no longer be a threat.

They should’ve talked about Ronald Reagan’s gun control in California. Gun Control takes guns out of citizens hands not criminals. However, what about those that are mentally ill? Do they deserve the right to bare arms?

CN. I love your channel and I am a new follower. I don't agree with every point you have, but nobody agrees with everyone all the time. I do agree with how you have a point and you substantiate it with verifiable and quantifiable information that is readily available. I do have some issues with this topic, and I have to admit that I am very much for self preservation but also for the sanctity of life. I am the type to shoot and attacker in the chest then render first aid until the paramedics arrive. But on to my issues. I agree that lots of this history is not well known. I cannot agree that the current iteration of this conversation is aimed at keeping a certain segment of people unarmed other than those that will go into a school, mall, club or church and just open fire. Call me naive. Call me an optimist. Call me whatever you want, but I have yet to hear any new proposals to keep guns out of Black people's hands. All I want is some assurance that if I see someone with a gun bolstered that they have gone through the proper channels and vetting process to ensure that they will be an asset and not a liability. Much like when I see someone driving on the roads I can safely assume that they know how to drive because of them having a license and passed a minimum proficiency level. Does that mean that people will not die at their hands? Avsolutley not, or we would not have any accidents. We added seatbelts and people bitched and moaned about them. Seatbelts save lives. I just want better seatbelts for the process of getting a gun. I am all for laws that keep husbands from buying a gun while they are pissed to go home the same day and shoot his wife because she burned dinner. I am not for taking away guns to disarm the masses. I am for laws that say ex cons (depending on the crime) can keep guns in their homes to protect their families once they have satisfied all probation requirements. To say that old practices for keeping Black people targetable is very true. To say that today is a bit of a stretch for me.
