So, during WW1, the Germans had airships with armor plating, artillery guns and numerous other weapons, and was still capable of getting off the ground?
Those are some truly weird reinforcements. An S.E.5a with two fuselages and an engine mounted on the top wing; a Fokker D.VII fused with another S.E.5a; a portion of the Zeppelin Staaken bomber from earlier; a Crossley Tender with wings and a parasol plane with farmwagon wheels. Seems like a normal day during the Great War to me...
@@jureracnik3210 Oh that's uh the "Specials" constructed by Fritz before he was killed. How they ever got off the ground I'll never know but hey, they flew thanks to that crazy genius.
@@raymondyee2008 Actually, Fritz survives the bombing raid in the movie, you are able to see him in the background in the scene where Bannock throws his telephone to the ground in rage. There is also an uncut version of the film with a much better ending (Russian dub), which you can find here: ok.ru/video/1465674762826. I''m pretty sure, that i once heard that the reason, why those specific scenes were cut is because the movie's producer, Richard Herland, planned to make a sequel, but due to the film being a box-office bomb, it never came to fruition.
What can you expect from a fairly low-budget 1980s movie about WWI aircraft ? The zeppelin model they used is really, really out of proportion. And that's just one of the many, many flaws of the film. Nice that the Gunbus got some more exposure as an antique WWI aeroplane, but that's about it, really. :-p
@@jureracnik3210 Heh, you and Me both. I like the design of the Zeppelin, very Crimson Skies-ish. The Aircraft Fritz (my last name lol) built were pretty creative too.
