Gundam Age: The Michigan of Gundam 

When the world needed him most, he returned!

Unlike Seed, Age is a product of mismanagement and people who didn't know what they were doing. One reason why it was rushed was it's writer, Akihiro Hiro, was more used to writing Video Games instead of Anime, so he paced the scenes as if they were Video Game cutscenes. With Memory of Eden, he learned that writing Game cutscenes is different from writing Anime and the results show.

Bit of trivia about the PSP Age games: The director of the anime, Akihiro Hino is also the head of Level-5 (Yo-kai Watch games), and was initially brought on to make a Gundam game. The script he drafted is what became Age while the games were then being produced. The anime did technically come first but the games released before it was over, so it's understandable to see the anime as an adaptation of the games and not the other way around. Which, considering how the game does more to flesh out the lore and setting... yeah it's an understandable view to have. Almost kinda sad the only way to play these games is via Emulator, since they're not poor PSP RPGs.

Gundam Age was something I went into reluctantly, but became one of my all time favorite Gundam series.

Loved the co-hosts, but since this is their first time, I would’ve liked some cut outs of something to know who’s-who while we learn to recognize their voices.

Gundam Age has good suit designs, the model kits paved the way a bit for modern 1/144 HG kits from Bandai. Liked the learning computer or Age system creating another variant to use against the new grunt bad guy. I really liked Asemu Asuno not being Age’s Newtype, just a really good ace pilot. Age 2 Gundam is an amazing design and redesign when it appears later in the series is good too.

I'm a bit late but nice to see you back. Gundam AGE is actually in my Top 5 for Gundam Series despite a lot of flaws. Also it has some of my favorite Grunt Suit designs especially for the Earth/Federation.

As a Michigander, that title has me going "Wut?" The comparison to Flint still leaves me confused.

i had no idea this was based off a video game. i just remember hearing the writer wrote for video games when i watched a review of it when this was the newest gundam anime. so i thought it was odd they got a video game writer for an anime but now it makes more sense.

Gundam Age feels like a distilled Saturday morning cartoons version of Gundam.

This was more entertaining than risking watching AGE itself... the misspeak of Flit's name transforming into the inspiration for the title is hilarious.

If they had split the two halves of the show between Flit and his son, then used the movie for Flit's grandson, it probably would've been way better paced.

The AGE series had a potential but was ruined due to being cramped into a 50 episode series. Instead, it should have 25 episodes each for each generation of the protagonist. Such a wasted potential.

It's been 84 years

Ages first part was bland, but servicable. Part 2 was what the whole series should've been about, it is the best written part of Age. 3 starts out strong, but they chicken out on every ballsy decision they seemed to build up. Part 4 is a dissapointing mess beyond believe. If the finale needs you make extra homework on side-stuff material to understand new characters and items suddenly entering the picture, you screwed up as an author. also: The Gundam Age-3 is one of my favorite main-line Gundams of all time. This is a beauty of a mobil-suit. I still want the Mastergrade for it Bandai

Honestly, I’m glad to have you back, and that things in your life have stabilized. So far I’m excited for the next part of this, though I completely understand if you guys decide that it’s not worth having to slog through it.

I've suffered through all of Age and you hit the nail on the head: even if you account for the fact that it's aimed at younger audiences, it really misses that mark and is all over the place in terms of tone and pacing. ...And if you think Yurin is a bad name, wait until the 3rd arc.

If the issue with Adams Tinel is his lips: we got noticeable lighter colored lip, palms, and soles on our feet then the majority of our skin, sometimes to much more prominent contrast. He doesn't look like swol lipped Black face and isn't a dimwitted stereotype.

Most of the Mecha designs in AGE are great.

the only good thing came out of AGE is the HG Gunpla which were a huge improvement over the HG Gundam 00 kits.

Now that I've watched this, my only feedback is maybe consider covering more episodes per video? As a viewer I feel like I would have enjoyed a comprehensive discussion of the first "age" of the series a bit more. But anyhow, I'm glad to see you making new stuff again!

AGE-1 4/10. Points for the grunt suits that had the possibility of highly customizable options and a carrier with sideways catapults. None of which utilized. AGE-2. 8/10. A much better plot with a normal human striving to outpace the not-newtypes and prove himself to his father with sheer determination and grit. AGE-3. 2/10. Flatter than week old soda. At least the animation was competent. Ebony mobile suits were stupid. AGE-4. X/10. Did not watch. 3 killed my interest. I do have a Gunpla of the main suit though.

So there's actually something more important that you kinda missed, the overall setting and world building, and I'm only gonna list a few of the problems here The UE has not only not lost a single battle, but implied to not even had any casualties until Ep1, for 14 years, yet they have not conquered the entire Earth and colonies by now Flit is 14, and he got his Age device when he was 7 when his mom died, which means his family did nothing with it for a whole 7 years while there was an invasion happening There are definitely more problems but that will make this comment too long, so I'm just gonna stop here

The thing about the games vs anime is weird cause the games were developed first but the show came out a year before the games and the games never finished the age story while the anime did. the games at least added more context and story to the parts of age they covered

The problem with Age is they tried to fit three generations of Gundam storyline in one season which ended up with it being rushed like hell and Kio is worse than Kira "Jesus" Yamato.
