Today, we take a look at the Gundam Pharact, Elan 4's tragic last stand (I know Elan 5 also piloted this but we are not gonna talk about him). This time I opted for a glossy finish, so there's a lot of technical stuff to talk about.

Excellent review, the Gundam Pharact And Elan Ceres, where probably some of the best parts of the series and it actually showed that they had a glimmer of an idea For the series, but Then the series just Straight up crashed And burned. That's a lesson to everyone. Let your show cook A little longer,

Yeah, unfortunately airbrushing definitely requires at least a dedicated space with good ventilation so it's not gonna be for everybody. At least you can snap build for now and revisit all of your old builds later! That's honestly a lot of my builds, I only started airbrushing about 3 years ago and most of the time I'm just painting my older kits

Man, you're moving to Minnesota? That bums me out. Anyway, awesome high gloss build. It's making me want to try polishing a glossy build.

It's not 100% set yet, but yeah, for the next year I'm going to be splitting my time between Minnesota and Austin back and forth. I wish I had some 2k clear on hand to use on this, I had a set that I bought a while ago but the activator went bad. There's always next time I guess

100% the Michaelis.would be cool to see something new on it like the gloss here. Maybe something like non metalic metal or some other technique that makes the kit really stand out. I've really liked seeing you tackle these new kits. Also the gloss came out so well.

I'd probably do like a pearl white on it, all the round armor parts would look pretty good on pearl white. I can also do like a comparison across different pearl white and metallic methods

Your Pharact looks great, I appreciate that you filled the holes on the shoulders, those are easily the worst part of the kit in my opinion and mine is posed specifically to hide those. My vote is for Guntank, I think it looks more funny and weird rather than cool and I'd love to see what you could do with it to bring it in line with your Guncannon and Origin RX-78-2's cool-factor. As a side note, did you feel that the Alclad smells terrible even compared to other lacquers? I've heard that it smells like death but I've always wanted to use it since I haven't seen any acrylics/aqueous (my main paint type) that could compare in terms of quality. Great work as always!

I haven’t really noticed the smell, but it definitely feels different from all other primers/topcoats I’ve used. I’ve used both the primer and matte topcoat, both just never really properly dry, both can kind of be rubbed off with fingers. The worst smelling paint I’ve used was Gaia’s clear white, it just smells like piss for some reason. Tbh no lacquer paint smells right, you need proper ventilation for all of them. I actually also have used the black gloss primer from Vallejo, it’s weird, it actually is very glossy but it drys into a rubbery thick layer. I wouldn’t really use it for a gunpla build but it does achieve high gloss.

Hello, I'm getting started on customizing and painting my kits, and I wanted to ask, what sanding sticks are you using ? I don't seem to find ones that are spongy like yours, and they will be crucial for any curved surface I would imagine. Also I'm incredibly surprise of the quality of your videos compared to your subcount and your views, you're incredibly good, especially for someone learning, your ressources are vital, most other cutstomizing channels are more about ebing montages, and thus far you're far more interested in documenting the process for people, which is a godsent for me. Thank you! The sponge sticks are from Infini. They have 3 types of sticks, all of them are good for certain tasks, but for curves you want the red ones. They are spongy enough for curved surfaces but also have some rigidity so they’ll still be effective for nub marks.

Yep, I got the RG Sazabi and MG Sinanju sometime next year that will be candy paint (I know, daring aren't I). TBH what I did here is pretty much done with candy paint techniques, it's just that it's black based. Add a layer of chrome after the black base and it would be candy paint.

Lmao it is definitely challenging in the beginning, but you 100% can do it. Even a $40 master airbrush can do 90% of the things I do. I'm in the process of making a whole tutorial series on getting started on airbrushing, stay around for when that drops! (honestly just play around with thinners and pressure)
