I like how you casually drop so much knowledge in your voice overs. That's some really good results in this short amount of time. Shows that you know your craft. Good luck with the move bro!
@@PRAETOR1ANO lacquer, and it should stick well enough. I don’t really want to troubleshoot in the comments, check the description in my newest video for a link to our community discord where you can discuss things with me
@@comradegunpla make a hinge out of plastic plate and glue it to the cut wing. Hollow out parts of the uncut wing and the grey piece to make room for the new hinge.
@@windslayerr11 do you see how little space there is? The wing is designed as one flat part. Show me an example of anyone making a hinge out of these wings.
I wonder if RU-vid deleted my comments... You won't find any examples in the English gunpla community. You'll have to search it up in the Chinese community.
Your style is really elegant and creates beautiful outcomes while also being very straightforward. It reminds me of Bunker Pla’s stylish technique videos. This kit came out great, very clean
For this one, I didn't add any panel lines, only went over the existing corners, for that you'd want something thin, either a round needle type or around 1mm. If you want to actually scribe new lines, for HGs I would suggest 1.5mm for normal lines, 3mm for thick line variations. For MGs I would have 2mm and 4mm. Maybe just start with something from 1~1.5mm and see how much you like it.
Yes, and I just use a $100 spray booth I got from Amazon. I did build a booth for about $50 once for a video, it was a functional booth but it could have been better, so I want to build another one after I finish moving for a better tutorial.
This kit look like an Armored Core model, have you ever built one ? They got restocked recently, and while they aren't that well design, at the very least they're absolutely beautiful and they have some very odd design that is very lacking when it comes to Gundam, X-Sombrero and TYPE-LAHIRE comes to mind especially, but even the Armored Core V stuff is so unique. Beautiful kit as always, and it's very impressive what you can do with so little time, I can't believe you're not more popular, because the work is top notch
I've seen them, but tbh I just kind of dislike Kotobukiya kits and want to avoid them as much as possible, unless it's an IP I really like. Bandai announced Armored Core kits a while ago, so once those come in stock I might pick a few up.
I really dig your style of painting. It never would have occurred to me to shade the kits that way. It had become pretty much second nature to me to either black base and highlight or to preshade with a darker color and then base coat. Nicely done! Great job on the video as well. Your breakdown and workflow is helpful in showing what you’re doing and how you achieved the results.
Preshading is good too if you want that high contrast, I’m just going for a more subtle look. Preshading tends to kill the vibrancy of colors since you are introducing black into colors, but it’s great if you weather. Different techniques for different goals!
Surprise video, nice! I'm glad you got a fun, easy build after the Rising Freedom. The advice about sandpaper/sponge rigidity and re-scribing were actually things that I learned experimentally recently, so it was nice to see my thoughts confirmed here. The kit looks great, as always, definitely more vibrant and visually interesting than the stock colors (and I'm always a sucker for barrel/thruster burn). If there's one thing I could note it's that the BGM is a bit loud, most notably in the painting section IMO. But as always, thanks for the video! and good luck with the rest of the move.
Oh, let's go! I thought you have your hands full with the potential Immortal Justice and Force Impulse/Gouf. So I didn't expect any WfM builds from you for some time. But at this point I really want to see what you can do with the Calibarn or Gundvolva. (I will be glad with any WfM build tho) P. S. is that some shade of metallic red or is it a copper color for the shell unit? It looked so good without the clear part! I always forget they are a little bit smoky, not perfectly clear.
@@comradegunpla yeah, I was referring to the moment around 13:29, when it wasn't covered with clear part yet. Maybe it's just lighting, but it looks hella good. You didn't mention it in the video, but I guess all the permet system elements glow under the UV light? Same as all your previous WfM builds?
@@back_dash this one actually doesn't 😥I wanted the permet marks to look metallic since they are so large, which requires me to use clear red instead of a fluorescent red. I'm getting some fluorescent clear paints shipping in from China, so hopefully I can fix this to have it glow like all my other ones in the future.
@@comradegunpla oh no. hope it can be fixed. Any plans for the brown chicken by any chance? Since you already have Ur, and 3 main boys completed. I can kinda see some sense in completing 2 girls too. Can't believe I'm saying it, but even Thorn's design grew on me over time. Then again, I will be happy with any build from you, king. Do what you like and thanks for the nice vid!
i wish rising freedom had the same height as other hg freedom mostly Strike Freedom. it was too short 😣 i wish there is a simple way to improve this kit height without need to cut/add on or repaint just for the sake of make the cuatom kit color same..
Not for this build specifically because 3mm is just enough for the inner frame to still work. Any longer than that, you might have to either extend the inner frame, or extend the hip joint peg (which I think is easier)
Idk why, but I just love the look of this kit. I can’t wait to build mine, but I’m a bit scared of the arm and leg joints breaking on me as I’ve heard quite a few stories about the connections breaking after time. Since the kit is kinda cheap I can always buy a new one to replace the broken joints.
Why does the paint look textured? Could it be that it is not thin enough and it dries as tiny particles instead of one even layer? I like the colors but the texture throws off the look of smooth oxidized titanium.
Could be. I thinned these clears a while ago so they could have dried up a bit. The silver base is also not as chrome-y so that might be the reason too, after all clear paint can only look as smooth as the base. I originally wanted to do all matte for this build, so I didn't think to make the silver super mirror-y, only thought to do this burnt titanium halfway through.
Excellent review, the Gundam Pharact And Elan Ceres, where probably some of the best parts of the series and it actually showed that they had a glimmer of an idea For the series, but Then the series just Straight up crashed And burned. That's a lesson to everyone. Let your show cook A little longer,
