That is why I like the part where Kira was still piloting the Strike. He HAD to get creative with the way he was using the suit because it had simpler weaponry and limited energy. With the Freedom and all of its newer versions he would just target lock everything and spam shots.
(seed freedom spoilers) at least he had his brief moments with the Strike Freedom Type II of (somewhat) being creative at holding off two hostiles with 2 much more newer mobile suits made specifically to counter it, with brand new armor tech that's absorbs beam projectiles to kinda recharges these suits on the fly to top it out, while getting bombardered by an entire fleet too just before he pulled a Fegelein after Athrun getting Justin Biebered by one of those suits. By having his suit turned into Mighty Strike Freedom thanks to the Proud Defender backpack being piloted together with Lacus
5:36 The balls of that Alliance soldier to continue fighting until death with such hatred. That shows how much the ideology of Blue Cosmos/LOGOS pretty much became mainstream within the Alliance military at that point.
Most of those ideologies are from Atlantic Federation's media. BC/LOGOS is full of influential people, elites. Funny how the rich makes their children Coordinators but the other rich fund a war to kill them.
Yep. Especially since his sacrifice wasn't even necessary (not that Nicol knew this, of course). At this point in time, the likelihood of Kira actually going for the kill on Athrun would have been incredibly slim. Kira would most likely have allowed Athrun to either escape or be rescued by Nicol, Dearka, & Yzak (or instead take him in as a prisoner of war) even had he decisively won, as long as the Aegis was either destroyed or recaptured by the Archangel. It wasn't until after Athrun had killed Tolle that Kira was after Athrun's head. Plus, Nicol was easily the most pacifistic of the ZAFT Gundam pilots, and I feel that had he survived, he likely would have defected to the Archangel's side alongside Athrun and Dearka (and if Nicol had defected, that may have been enough of a "push" for Yzak to begrudgingly follow suit). Honestly, I can't help but wonder how that kind of difference could have played out. For instance, maybe at the Battle of Jachin Due, Dearka, Yzak, & Nicol end up saving the lives of the Astray Trio, and this results in the girls each hooking up with one of the three Gundam pilots by the time Destiny rolls around? For instance, Juri could have hooked up with Nicol, Mayura could have hooked up with Yzak (as her tomboyish nature may have meant she had no issues standing up to Yzak whenever his ego/temper started to get the better of him), and Asagi could have wound up with Dearka.
Yeah. And then Athrun slaps Shinn for summarily executing those criminals and gives him some crap he doesn't understand, refuses to elaborate, leaves and wonders why Shinn choose Rey over him in ,,Thunder in the dark". Jerk 😡😡😡😡
You know, I saw twice a certain fan art. A ,,What if" type of fanart. Not Marvels What if, but alternate Gundam scenario. A comic. In it, Rey 😢 choose to go with Kira and Athrun instead of dying with Talia and Gilbert. They took him 😞 to Ethernal where he was talking to Shinn and Luna. Probably coming clean and apologising for misleading them. And then 2 mere days ago I saw another fanart. A picture. 🥲It was beautiful. Shinn and Rey, in Compass uniforms, walking and talking about something, probably girls or something youthful from the looks of their faces, behind them Agnes trying to get close to Rey but looking to shy, with Luna either taunting her for her shyness or encouraging her to talk to him, meanwhile Kira watches them, smiling. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 That is how it should've been. It wasn't right that Rey died in ,,The final power". He should've lived, he should've lived. Imagine what could've been then if he did. If Shinn got to still have his best friend around. If we actually got ,,Ragnes" (but then again, chances are small for that). But the writting was bad, to them both.💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 I hope he returns alive in future SEED series. There is a high probability of a sequel. I've already imagined his and Shinns reunion. It would be beautiful. If not, I hope Shinn gets a son he'll name Rey.🥹 Now that would be beautiful.
@@shadowbladezorru2748 in the end you can't help but feel bad for patrick knowing he was never evil untill his wife death came into the picture and how his son thought he could fix things despite it being beyond it being his control even know Patrick needed real help
The occasional raw brutality is kind of upended by the constant ham fisted and cheesy melodrama. I still like the show for what it is though. The music, action sequences and the character dynamics between certain characters still makes the show though.
This is why I didn't like destiny as much the writers player favoritism to zaft in multiple battles where earth forces had the advantage and the W zaft pulled a fairy tail victory that never made sense lol
To me Patrick zala death is the most tragic and saddest had he been offer help and had someone offer to talk to him before becoming consumed by his own hatred he might've been helped as i feel Lacus father should've done as he was his friend and co-worker
@@comicbookreviewer4856 He may had it Got coming to him for all the Hatred he caused but if he had listened to those who tried to correct his wrong he might be with his wife who is in heaven, but His Own Hatred Killed him so that's why he wasn't forgiving.
Exactly. I knew I wasn't the only 1. Writting there got GOT S8 treatment. Unjust. Lets hope he comes back. You know, having escaped on a secret escape pod beneath Messiahs command chair. I mean, it wouldn't be the 1. time. Zechs survived blowing his unit up in a space forth. And Mu survived that Lohengrin strike. So, Rey could come back in sequels. If they happen. They are probable. 1 last injustice to fix.
@@user-vo6iz7gh2fEh I don’t think so. The writers have had over a decade to realize that plot armor abuse is not a good thing, I almost wish they killed Mu sometimes, frankly the worst was when Shin skewered Kira in the impulse, that was just bullshit 😂. It have been nice if Rey escaped on a Zaft ship or something, but then again I liked his death. Sometimes a tragic character is a good thing for the story.
@@InfoAddict26 I see your point, but 1 last time wouldn't hurt. And they can bring him back with bad burns or as a cyborg or both, you know, not to overuse PA. I've come to expect surprises from Gundam after GSF came out. Maybe they'll surprise us again. It would be nice surprise to see Rey back, wouldn't it. I even imagined the scene(s). In several scenarious I've ploted out for possible sequels. Wanna hear, or should I say READ (cause we're chating by comments😅😅😅😅😅😅).
