Welcome to Dad-n-Cheese, a father & son car enthusiast channel! Today we head over to Mufflex in Trenton, NJ to get the Gundo Hack modification to our exhaust. Let's see if you can tell the difference. This hack is for Porsche 996 and 997 911 Carrera models.

I did an inner 1 and 1 half inch cross pipe as well as a 2 inch over top pipe. Neighborhood friendly until you hit 4k rpm's. At 4k rpm's it sounds like it is on the race track ! It sounds AWESOME under bridges and in tunnels..

Exact gundo hack. I love mine. Like SGT Tom Bailes said. Neighbor friendly. But you know it's not stock. More than one Porsche club member said it's just like the (open) sport exhaust option.

I’ve got the gundo ones. Definitely louder. Local also. Wouldn’t mind trading because the Mrs doesn’t like loud.

No, they did something completely different. We ended up buying the fister exhaust and it sounds incredible.

Sounds a bit sportier and a bit louder. You should have called the shop after you first got home, and explained that you weren't 100% happy, and you'd like the cross pipe (original gundo) done as well.

I did call them and they said they never liked doing the Gundo because they never heard the difference. I just bought the Fister and it sounds awesome.

I've been debating the same thing for my 997 exhaust. Did you send your mufflers to Fister for the core exchange & gundo hack work?

I couldn’t send them because the local shop modified them and Fister doesn’t accept them when they were previously modified. I ended up paying around $1500.
