Did the same except added the FB tips - Gundo is great - awesome how the sound stays fairly subdued for neighborhood at low rpm until you step on it - then the baritone kicks in and really howls @3500+rpm
Ashton kept calling the 996 a "Geo Metro"... :-P Glad you're making some new content. I still wanna hear your screeching "PAPA!!" at Jeff's garage, again. ;-)
Scott Schubel Do you get any drone with this setup? Currently with the Fisters I have zero drone. Wondering if the cat del changed that from the Gundo hack?
I usually see the modded mufflers connecting at the 2 lower pipes but this looks awesome....do you know if all 996 3.6 mufflers have that top alternate baffle and just need a hole made and pipe welded like in your video? Thanks
It sounds AWESOME from outside the car, but I bet it's really raspy on the inside. I've found that deleting the cats usually adds a lot of rasp, whereas deleting the mufflers makes it louder but avoids the rasp. (In general, I haven't deleted the cats on my 996.)
why did you leave mustang lifestyle, i always enjoyed watching you and you were my favorite out of them all. you wee the coolest to m but the others wee amazing too. hope you get a mustang soon always enjoyed to see you in one!
Thanks for the kind words. I’m sure one day I’ll have another Stang. Work and life commitments had to come first before I could continue to commit time to ML
Sounds great, I'm debating a virtually identical setup. Any issues with CELs? I wasn't sure if the M&M had bungs/extenders for the sensors. Some say you lose a little power or torque somewhere below 3k, did your butt-dyno register anything like this?
You can buy extensions through FVD that are also made by M&M, probably worth getting. I feel like there was a small loss under 3k but im never WOT down there anyway. Mid range and top end definitely improved
Cool, appreciate the answers. How's the smell on a day to day basis? FVD actually warned me that they might be a bit much for a dual purpose car when you're doing daily driving etc with the windows down
You definitely smell it, i drive with the windows down almost 100% of the time. I like the smell though but it happens with any car when you remove cats
I did the same to my 996 but I did my own cheaper version of a gundo hack. I drilled threw the back of my muffler so the exhaust goes mostly into the first chamber and then straight out. Then I just threaded a plug into the back of the muffler to plug up the whole I drilled. It sounds amazing and never had any problems with it. In the second video I posted that is with the stock mufflers drilled out and a catless X pipe. I will be making videos of that soon. I also just bought some fabspeed headers 2 different sets of Fabspeed mufflers and will do a video of all 3 to compare the sound. Hope you check it out! You can smell it for sure but the sound is worth it! ru-vid.com/show-UCeKER40epCVSnsmcbmyvixw
Scott Schubel Jr ah, thought so. I just got a 99 Carrera with the 3.4 engine. I would love that sound in my car but i don’t think it’s possible with that engine ...
Incorrect, both 3.4 and 3.6 are M96 blocks with the same design. A 200cc displacement difference will not constitute much (if any) change in sound characteristics. I've heard many 3.4's with x pipe setups scream
