Gungrave G.O.R.E is great, actually 

I saw complaints of people saying "the shooting is boring and repetitive", which didn't make sense to me because literally mostly every shooter is like this. COD players will play the exact same game every year.

Unpatched, this game is pretty eh. Though after a ton of fixes this game was an absolute blast from start to finish!

This game felt fresh, we could use more in the "drunk salaryman" genre.

Definitely very underrated compared to how highly praised Gungrave Overdose is. I much, much preferred this game and the original when doing a play through all the games recently. Them including an anime Brandon Heat skin for the dedicated players was just the BASED icing on top.

I beaten the G.O.R.E difficulty and all thanks to three things Golden Guns, Seed Fall, and Graveyard and due to the fact that unlocked Brandon Heat as playable character it was worth it

The fact a PS2 game never had any game release up until the PS4 era shows how unkillable and dedicated this game is.

I do agree with a lot in this video. Besides the changes, some of them I think were really necessary. Even the train. But this game got dogged on for not being the next "God Of Devil May Evil West." It's really unfair since G.O.R.E was never meant to be some mainstream title, but rather a homage to what ti's always meant to be. A fun game that can be picked up and played. And that's what a game needs to be at the end of the day.

This truly shows how braindead the current gen of gamers are. Calling this repetitive before giving Call of Duty modern boogaloo 2 a score of 95. I've never played a gungrave game before this yet I'm having a blast with it.

Absolutely agree: it's a simple but fun game and I really enjoyed going through the game (still haven't finished GORE difficulty though). My only issues are the large amount of levels (31 levels are way too much, especially when some of them are too short and unnecessarily split into two parts) and how difficulty or inconsistent is to get S Ranks, and they should show a min requirement for that because even with over 1500 beats I still get A in some levels. Also really not a fan of the style they used and the Cel-shaded mode is "meh". Other than that it's a fun game! Not perfect but I had a blast, literally. Edit: I had no idea the launch version was THIS different. I heard it was difficult, but didn't think it was THAT difficult. I wished they'd tune down rather than just remove stuff but oh well.

Never played Gungrave but I bought it today cause it looked cool

Talking to someone who platinumed this game after the updates. It's really fun! I recognize it's probably like a 7/10 game. But it's simplicity really helps set it apart. When so many other games probably have like 3-4 hour of preamble before getting to the meat of it, it's just nice to have something to pick up and play. To be fair, I do think it be cool if they added the launch version designs back in, and call it Hardcore mode or OG mode just to add another difficulty.... maybe leave the platforming out though XD

I dont personaly have a problem with the type of game that GGG is. Mindlessly shooting through hordes of enemies is fun in my book, but as a fan of Hack n Slash games, this game feels stale and gets boring really fast. Its too long for its own good with random bullshit go areas that dont really give the game its own identity. To me, it lacks some kind of variety which would make just fucking around with the mechanics engaging. So while yeah, simplicity isnt always a flaw, id appreciate more variety in a game with over 30 missions also if you're completionist like me, then the game is a chore to go through on both normal and hard. Someone woud have to pay me good money to play through G.O.R.E. difficulty. Gank of beefy enemies isnt "challenging fun", its someone pouring salt in your eyes just for shits and giggles

I wish this was true. I really gave it a fair shot but god was it middling at best and total crap at worst. I think the most offensive part is the level design? But the combat wasn’t far off from that either.

Ive been waiting for this review. Your gungrave video made me interested in getting this game and i loved it. Not perfect but a fun ride. It also got me to give the anime another chance and i loved it.

This game was a bigger mess at launch. The patches do make the game better. But it needs more for it to be even better. For the playstation ports, an option to change sounds coming from controller to speaker. I will always hate sounds playing though a controller

Based video. I've beat this game at least twice in GORE difficulty and grinded for those S ranks and I've only come to love it more and more as the perfect drunk salaryman experience. PS: That area in the last map with the big high-damaging Orgmen is actually beatable without demolition shot cheese if you learn how to chain stagger enemies. Basically, a fully charged shot can stagger an enemy and if you upgrade Grave's combo you can also use one of the combos to stagger a group of enemies. If you keep them staggered, you can fight them just long enough to unleash your burst shot and build enough demolition points to deal the finishing blow. No need to upgrade bullet damage.

Played the game via game pass recently, it is very clearly not polished, but it gave me what I was expecting: over-the-top dumb stupid guns blazing action, it helped that I didn't marathon it and took breaks to play other games on other days, I'm not saying the game is bad, I'm just saying I like the game for the same reasons I like Cruis'n Blast: spectacle and arcadeyness, yes, I am the type of person that can be satisfied if there are enough explosions on the screen. Overall review of the game is a 7.5/10 needs grave shredding a guitar with missiles coming out of it as a demolition shot.

This series is so strange. Personally, I think there are only 2 good games in the entire series, and both are good for very different reasons. The 1st has better presentation, style and pacing Gore has a lot of great mechanics that make this really fun. But it's also incredibly unpolished and so jank. I find it fascinating that the series just looks worse and worse with each release

I had fun with this title for a bit, though it got old for me. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the gameplay, it having more of a focus on brainless fun. The art design definitely took me back to the 90s with its borderline McFarlane theme. To me, this title felt like Robocop and Spawn blended together, heated, and the steaming contents poured into an anime themed coffee mug. 😅 Great review as always, man! Keep it up.

I've been waiting for this game ever since it was announced and I pretty much already knew it was gonna be some cheap junk-fest of a game so my expectation were low. Though as a Gungrave fan I thought the gameplay was really fun but I totally understand why most people who played it absolutly hate it, the presentation and (non pre rendered) cutscene are horrible and it overall feel somewhat unprofessional for a AA project. I feel bad for the team as it pretty much was their first real try at a good game with people actually waiting for it and seeing plenty of mixed reviews probably means the end for them as it's not like in 2002 where people could drop a PS2 game with a 10 dollar budget, releasing game with actual publishers is a lot tougher than before. But the jankiness is what most people would call "Soul" and I totally see it too, you rarely see video games that feels like something out of 2001, most try to mimick the artstyle but this game totally nailed it without trying. I've already wrote a really long review at launch about this game and I'm glad more people still talk about it, though it might be the end of the Gungrave franchise, for real this time. But brandon never dies does he? Can't wait for Gungrave GORE Overdose.

I really like this game. The soundtrack is spectacular and trying to keep your Beat counter going through the whole stage is so fun. I also LOVED the train section after the patches. The more difficult sections of this games are honestly where I think the game shines the most

Before starting this video, I bought Gungrave gore a few months back. I bought it based off the price and the images lol. I got most of the trophies except, beating it on hard. It could just be me not knowing the other games but, I got sick of it about half way through and just wanted it to end. It had its moments (boss battles were fun) but, it’s one of my games I’m trying to sell rn

I gave this game a shot on a whim and honestly its just dmc lite which i don't mind at all it was fun for what it was and i cant be mad at that...i hope this come off a negative it was pretty solid

Wondering when you will make this one

This game is pretty fun but I have a lot of issues with it. 1. The game is way too long considering the fact that every level is exactly the fucking same 2. You can't buy Quartz as a playable character 3. The Boss fights are complete shit 4. (Personal nit pick of mine) I don't like the way Graves in game model looks. I think he looks ugly as hell.

They need to cater some how. And again I get that elitest mindset of difficult game beaters but, yeah lol. I LOVE GUNGRAVE ANIME CHARACTERS AND I LOVE THE VIDEOGAME CHARACTER DESIGN AND STYLE.

The SMT V update to that darn air puzzle is something I really appreciate. It's primarily a turn based RPG, so a sudden skill check with a difficult platforming section, that's ONLY difficult because of tight timing requirements? Felt really out of place. Platforming challenges to get some of the optional collectables? Sure, great. Locking the store behind the hardest platform in the game? Not great. I beat it on the day one version, but I would not have played through new game+ without that puzzle being simplified.

I love this game, the game can drag for way too long with no variation, but I love the gunplay. but man grinding this game just so I can damage more sucked me

The best gungrave is the first one ever made for ps2 , in 2002, hands down , everysingle true gungrave fan knows this, it was the darkest , sexiest gungrave of all, overdose was overrated , it was way too exaggerated and they ruined the graphics , the first one was just perfect

Definitely agree this game is underrated but, don't agree with the point being made about the train. As a whole the games design was extremely dated and I don't mean in the OG game way but in the O.D. ways. The train section was awfully designed with the signs and bars the you had to jump over and avoid while shooting at enemies, the timed section to save Mika while less egregious still doesn't belong in this kind of game. Not to mention the missing option to switch from burst to full auto. I'd say now the game is near perfect tho the beat decay is unforgiving for an already kinda difficult game. Thankfully no S rank trophies to be found.

I dont know but i really did not like this game. It dragged for sooooo long and most of his moves were useless. After the first few stages it got boring (tho i did play it to the end). And that train level. F*** that stage. I wish there were more chances to play the other characters. Edit: Seems I played the prepatched version. Still probably wouldnt change my mind

Soon as I picked up G.O.R.E., it immediately brought back the muscle memory from the second game. It played just like a throwback and the quirks hardly bothered me. The only downside were PC issues, as the optimization wasn't the best. The ladies were curvy, actions was tense and flashy and music was great on most occasions. Only complaint: You didn't get to play as Bunji or the girl much at all.
