Axl was on fire back then. He was THE ULTIMATE ROCK N' ROLL FRONTMAN. Leather pants, tatoos, sweaty bare torso, long rock n' roll hair, devilish sexy smile that made all the girls melt, etc, etc, etc,....and of course: One of the best hard rock voices to emerge since Mick Jagger!
Just awesome. This was the concert that actually got me to like em. No makeup glammy stuff. Just 5 greasy sloppin drunk bros playin the tunes. Outstanding
So glad i was in this generation, watched this live on MTV when it was MTV, saw them the next year opening for the Stones at the Coliseum in LA. Living Colour also opened up, G&R bandmates were late, Axl surprisingly was on stage first and pissed no one was there, he went into a rant about their song One In A Million because of comments earlier from Living Colour. I was young 21 maybe, but remember leaving there thinking the Stones really kicked ass, I was really there to see Guns and Roses though, probably the beginning of their downfall, great band few come close.
Totally Agree. And the amazing thing with Axl is that he can make ANY song his own. His versions of: Dead Flowers, Mama Kin, Sympathy for the Devil, Knocking on Heaven's Door and Live and Let Die are all way better than the original versions (in my opinion)
I always get a kick out of seeing this concert on you tube because I was a 17 year old kid and I was at this show. I like when the chick in the first row adjusts Slash's guitar knobs for him during the solo.
Mama Kin - Guns 'N' Roses It ain't easy livin' like a gypsy Tell ya, honey, how it feels I've been dreamin' floatin' down stream And losin' touch with all that's real Whole lotta lover, keepin' undercover Never knowin' where you been ooh yeah You've been fadin', always out paradin' Keep in touch with mama kin You always got your tail on the wag Spittin' fire from your mouth just like a dragon You act like a perpetual drag You better check it out 'cause someday soon You'll have to climb back on the wagon It ain't easy livin' like you want to It's so hard to find piece of mind Yes it is The way I see it You got to say 'shee-it' But don't forget to drop me a line Bald as an egg at eighteen And workin' for daddy's such a drag You still stuff your mouth With his beans You better check it out or someday soon You'll have to climb back on the wagon Keep in touch with mama kin Tell her where you gone and been Livin' out your fantasy Sleepin' late and smokin' tea Keep in touch with mama kin Tell her where you gone and been Livin' out your fantasy Sleepin' late and suckin' me, oh no It ain't easy livin' like you want to It's so hard to find piece of mind Yes it is The way I see it You got to say 'shee-it' But don't forget to drop me a line Bald as an egg at eighteen And workin' for daddy's just a drag You still stuff your mouth With his beans You better check it out or someday soon You'll have to climb back on the wagon Keep in touch with mama kin Tell her where you gone and been Livin' out your fantasy Sleepin' late and smokin' tea Keep in touch with mama kin Tell her where you gone and been Livin' out your fantasy Sleepin' late and suckin' me Ohh, ow, ow, ow, yeah ow, ow yeah, ow
What really sucks is that this was one of the few great bands that made it out all alive, yet there not even together anymore, its almost as if they did die
@@bratwurst886well they were great in 2016, but then Axl is doing that thing to preserve his voice that makes him seem like a shell of his younger self
@sphereofinfluence247 I think that is slashes backing vocal and then axl begins......i don't think its vocal enhancements because if that were the case he would've used them in 2001 when he was clearly out of shape and having difficulties getting the power needed to be raspy. It took until 2010 for him to get it back. If all he needed to do was flip a switch on his microphone Im sure he would've done that.
why is everyone talkin about his voice being diffrent n stuff. his voice might've changed some. but he started singing different around 1990. his style just changed.
this is the same singer first of all second of all the guitar player is the guitar GOD slash he was in gnr from 1886-1996 bh was his replacement and axl(the singer) just looks diff now. this is the gnr that a generation grew up with and that changed the world
while this might (I said might because I don't know) be true regarding the 80s but if you look up set lists from the Illusion records they pretty much had the same set list on all the shows (adding a song here and there and skipping a song here and there)
Yeah, but that song was on "The Spaghetti Incident" which was an album full of cover songs, not one of those songs were written by GNR. So I'm not counting any songs from that insignificant album.
They could make millions if rose would get back with the real guys.Rose owes the fans one more world tour.Would love to see them again it would be BIG.rock on.
