I am 49 years old, I 'll take what I can get from these guys. The sound track of my teenage years, to now at 49. Motley Crue, Poison, Cinderella, Tesla, Styper, Guns n Roses. Most of these guys are 8 to 10 years older than me, they aren't posters on my walls anymore, but I still get inspiration from them as we grow older together, as Al Bundy would say, "let's rock" 🎸
Great comment mate, im the same age and share very similar memories of those great days. Just bought my tickets for Guns here in Australia for 2021. Cant wait to go to a live concert again. Cheers
I’m an 81 model, and GnR were a massive thing in my house growing up. To think that I can still see them in concert today makes me feel so appreciative. It makes me sad to think about Gunners just not being around.
I am 68 years old and AXL is my generation and we are no longer 28 years old. I still love GUNS N 'Roses. Let's take advantage of all our favorite bands because they're getting old and we can't help it ... Soon, we'll only see them on RU-vid.Hello for France.
OK...those long notes on Wichita Lineman are genuinely amazing. He ain't lost his voice, he's just not as good at the high stuff as he used to be. There's gotta be a way to work around that and combine the best of both worlds. Ah well.
GNR was the first band I fell in love with, and helped set me on a path to discover so many different styles and artists. And that was all because they could turn out hard rocking stuff like Appetite and then drop epic ballads like Estranged and November Rain or something like wild like Coma, and that all opened so many doors musically for me. I might not listen to them much anymore, but I'll always have that love for them, and I'm so glad I finally got to see Axl, Slash, and Duff play together in 2017. Not that I wasn't all in on the Chinese Democracy era either! Might not have gone to plan, but I do love the guts it took for Axl to follow his muse into near insanity and push his own boundaries so far.
I usually say that everytime. But somehow I don`t like his playing in Estranged! There is something I dont like in his tone (too clean) and he is playing to much of these octaves
Im 38yrs Old and when I saw these guys on MTV when I was 7yrs old I was hooked. Years later we would go seem them, twice, finally....and it rocked! Hope to see them again soon!
Civil War is song of truth and reason they were destroyed for as band. I'm glad that GnR recollected and still sing this song. Thank you for being one of brightest parts of my youth! God bless you and saves you!
@@romanp.4319 Perhaps he thinks of Sympathy for the devil. There the Slash tracks were replaced by Paul Tobias and it was kinda one of the things that led to departure of Slash back then
My Dad and I baught some tickets to the 'Guns N' Roses' tour in Australia next year, I can not wait for it. They always have, and always will be my favorite band. I nearly fainted when I got out of the shower and dad told me about the tour.
You will not be dissapointed I promise. I caught the show in 2016' and again in 2018' in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in Louisville, Ky. I had never gotten the opportunity to see them when I was younger so I wasn't sure what to expect with them at this age. I was astonished. Both shows were simply incredible. They will play a 3 1/2 hour plus set, and they never stop. Energy and sound is just incredible. I took my daughter (23 now and also a huge GNR fan) to both shows and we had the most wonderful times. Hope your experience is the same, I have a good feeling it will be. Side note I saw Axl with AC DC in between the GNR shows and he was amazing then also (different) but equally as awesome, also was suppose to see them in Indianapolis last August but Covid ruined that, the show is back on for this July though, and we will be there. I'm just running on now so I apologize. I understand just how excited you are though. A small piece of advice is try not to spend to much time taking videos and what not. There are a million videos out there of each concert, and there will be of your concert as well so I would definitely suggest just hanging back and taking it in. It will be an experience you will never forget. You folks have a great time and be safe!!!!
@@charlesbr7684 Thanks mate for the information. I am only 14, so i have never seen them before. Mostly every night i listen to GNR live at Tokyo '92', Paris '92' and so many more. I am an old soul music lover, i can not stand listening to the new music these days, i do not really get how kids and teens and adults can sit there and listen to the crap. You know, i sort of wish that i grew up in the 80's, the hair, cars, vibe and of course the music. Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Twisted Sister, Van Halen, Nirvana, Springsteen, Motley Crew, AC-DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Sabbath, Meatloaf, even Bee Gees, Elton John, Cher and Abba. Now I am 'running on' now, but I will just say that, in January 2020 (on Australia Day), I went and saw Elton John, in Hanging rock, as a birthday present, from my parents, it was truly fantastic, he is amazing. I am still growing up and hope that I will have alot more Rock N' Roll shows coming my wasy, and will remember them for the rest of my life... Thanks for the conversation. P.S. I will definitely follow your advice and will not be on Dads phone the whole time. I have long curly hair, and aviators and a top hat, so I look quite like slash, and I love the Les Pauls.
@@lucascastersen3215 That's awesome to here, it really is. I won't knock anyone's taste in music "but" I definetly get exactly where you're coming from. There are some good tunes that come about now and again i think , but I catch myself mostly listening to new things from older artists that don't get any mainstream attention these days. Between the downloading of music changing the way artists work, and the breakdown of the old school record stores (how I miss those days, when I was your age I could spend all day long in the record store just looking at albums) the industry really has taken a beating. The days of bands making great records as opposed to new artists trying to make a single to force feed people on I-tunes is what's missing. I've only heard several what I'd call good "albums" in the past 15-20 years and most of those are from the older artists. That and bands really having to grind out a following because the talent pool is just so deep. That's how a band like GNR really honed their skills of song writing, music and live performance. I'm glad to see you put Twisted Sister in there, they were/and still are in my opinion so underated. Stay Hungry IMO was one of the best cover to cover metal albums to come out in the 80's. It was so good, there previous albums also (which I wouldn't discover until after and because of Stay Hungry) were also great. I'm holding out hope that there will be a turn somewhere along the way and we will get back to having great and exciting bands back into the mix and having allot of diversification in our artists music styles. I'm optimistic that it will eventually happen especially hearing of someone your age that understands what's there today vs. what used to be and the current void of great bands and artists. Until then though we still have a plethora of great artists from years past to get us through. It's also nice to hear you mention others like Springsteen and Elton John, Abba, the Bee Gees as opposed to all metal artists. I'd normally say it's fine to have a favorite genre, but there are great artists and tunes in all genres of music so don't ever limit yourself to any single one, however it sounds like you have already figured that one out. At 14 that is very impressive!!! I'll cut this off now cause I could run on all day, but it's great to hear from you, and I can't wait for you guys to get to see GNR. You definetly have to message me back afterward and let me know how it was. You guys will love it though I have no doubt. Good day and please stay safe.
have seen that concert twice in Denmark and it was an exquisite pleasure to see and hear you live thank you for an unforgettable experience ❤❤🌹🌹 and your were all great
Love all these men. Axl voice on Estranged and Civil war is so great on most parts, and Slash's solos gave me the chills. What a great band of R'N'R musicians 🤘 They still rock our world, don't they ?
@@matrockingart470 actually its 1986-1993, 2006-10 and 2016. On the few gigs in 2001 and 2002 his voice was gone and also during 2011 and 2016. Acdc and a few shows with gnr like Houston 2016 were pretty good but everything after 2016 was weak imho and it goes weaker and weaker with the latest years which is very sad :(
Does anyone else think they should put out a movie for Guns N Roses? Obviously it must be for people over 18 years old, so that they show all the excesses that they lived. EDIT: Let's see. The documentary with real images of the band must be given yes or yes (And Axl must also publish the concerts that were recorded on the Use Your Illusion tour, which has not been released so far, there are only leaked concerts). But a documentary would only have GnR fans as its sole audience, instead a movie would make GnR have a new, younger audience and you would really like to see more people meet GnR. Like The Dirth and Bohemian Rhapsody did. I met GnR thanks to the Queen movie. What I mean is that they should take out their MOVIE, THEIR DOCUMENTARY (MADE BY THE BAND AND WITH REAL IMAGES THAT THEY RECORDED, OR AT LEAST THEIR PHOTOGRAPHER MADE IT) AND LAUNCH THE CONCERTS OF THE 91-93 TOUR
Yes!!! A movie would be badass. I would like 2 films though. One with live footage & the band narrates their individual opinions & experiences like a documentary style. Like @Rose &1977 said. Hey girl hey! I'm a 77 baby too, birthday was yesterday! Then a second movie that's played by actors telling their story. I think both would kick ass!
@@Principessa180 Exactly! I’m still wondering what’s up with all that footage that was filmed during UYI.. I think there was supposed to be a documentary?..
Welcome Back guys!!!1 the best Rock band in the world!!! i remember you very well Axl, Slash, i was on your security team on the original Use Your Illusion tour 91-92 i joined you in Rotterdam at the Kuip, and Slash i was in the VIP section on security at the Download festival 2010, i remember those days very well :))
And this is what he should sing more often in his songs. He is a second baritone by nature so obviously this song would be great. I was blown away by this Glen Campbell cover. He was phenomenal here. I've heard through slash that they are doing new songs so with the hopes that they sound more like this that would be great. It is said to be nothing that we would ever expect from them.
Yes, exactly! I'm surprised they've never thought about it. Just rearrange the songs in lower register instead of struggling so much with those vocals.
@@anotherone7924 I suspect Axl is still surrounded by 'yes men' who don't want to challenge him. Plus, we still buy tickets so I guess there is little incentive for him to change. He is still a legend regardless!
Maybe hes trying to sing in a way that doesnt damage his vocal cords. The last few bars of night train you can hear he pushes some gritty texture into the high register. Just for the end. Like how he used to sing it. But I dont think he can sing a whole song, set or tour in that way without risking losing his voice or damaging it.
@@bernstyles agreed but the Mickey Mouse voice isn't working. His low range is still amazing so I wish he would use that more often even if it means rearranging the songs a bit to fit. Could potentially put a fresh spin on their old songs.
I got into GnR because of Slash n Duff and the epic songs. Never really appreciated Axl until I saw them live. He's obviously struggling on this, but when he is at his best, he is a vocal athlete.
Esta cancion es una de las joyas mas grandes de la historia de la musica .... a mi gusto seria como un stairway to heaven de led!!! amo ambas bandas !!!
