FULL DISCLOSURE: I know I've heard this song before, at least 100 times, so I will NOT be reacting to or scoring the song itself in any way. Axel: vocals and piano; Slash: lead guitar. Just like Freddy Mercury: vocals and piano; Brian May: lead guitar. Axel Rose first favorite band was Queen. The first album he ever bought was "A Night at the Opera"

I never realized Axl had such talent on the piano. He was channeling his inner Elton John here.... I remember him saying in interviews saying how much of a huge Elton John fan he always was.

While the piano solo is included in the video, it's technically "Axl's piano solo" on the set list. I understand that's semantics of how you want to delineate intro vs introductory, but something to consider.

I would have to say that the July 1993 performance of November Rain in Argentina is the best. It's the last show of the Use Your Illusion tour, the last show with that lineup, and Axl's vocals sounded fantastic even after such a long tour

Slash runs into the "slightly off 440" tuning issue here, I think. In lots of studio recordings, especially ones with multiple takes, strings will obviously get a bit pitchy. Sometimes...it's absolutely perfect for the song. It can make those "blue notes," in the pentatonic pop. The problem is recreating that sound on stage. I'm pretty sure Slash was in tune here. But it sounds a hair out of tune because it doesn't match up with the recording. That usually means he was slightly out of tune during the recording, or the engineer edited the pace in production, which slightly altered the pitch. This happens a lot with the Blues pentatonic scale. The discord of the blue notes can hit harder when you're slightly out of 440...but can you ever recreate that on stage?

You can, but it's gonna require some AMAAAAAAZINGLY accurate bending when you get to the flat 5, and instead of using the fretted note for the flat 5, you would go down to the 4 and bend up to get the flat 5 that is just ever so slightly flat. I've worked with only 2 guitar players in my career that were able to pull this off....and oddly enough, they were both blues guitar players.

I agree 👍 with you , Dave . 14 minutes?! Better have good entertainment for this show. Peter Frampton's classic ' Do You Feel Like I Do ' , from the 70's is a model example of this. Other than that, you get the flying tomatoes from the fans.

I actually love this song, however I fell in love with the music video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8SbUC-UaAxE.html Live it just doesn't work that well (except w/ Elton John in 2008 at Music Awards show). This song is slower and NEEDS the video imagery to make it work IMO.

Only 6 billion on earth and 2 billion says you're wrong . That means that 2 out of 6 people love this song and thsts not even the ones that didn't view It , so let's say 3 and half of the world loves this song so only 2.5 people might not like It .

Is there any song in the world, that is slower, that you like? havent seen that many videoes, but every slower songs/parts, you are always the same "not a fan", do you only like hard songs?

I definitely prefer faster and harder songs compared to most slower songs.

@@THEDavidHeretic I prefer faster myself, but sometimes, its just relaxing to close eyes and calm down with songs like this. And again, i prefer faster songs, but most of my fav songs, are actually slower, like this, patience, dont cry, BM, Akatsuki, No rain, no rainbow. Metallica nothing else matters, DT the best of times. wither, through her eyes and so many more. Prefer faster songs, but im harder on those songs, but those slower songs, not that picky there. maybe i just gotton old and need to slow down more often :P

The main attraction is always Slash. I bought the VHS of this show just to see Slash and their new rhythm guitarist, also bought UYI I & II cassettes just to learn how to play guitar like Slash. So, I understand why you don't like the song. I'm not a fan of the first half either, but I like the guitar solos
