@@fillmorehillmore8239 James did not run laps around the stage and dance with the mic pole like Axl (gosh, picture James doing that!) But James was playing rhythm guitar while singing; He had intensity, and he worked the crowd so well. That's the way I see it.
@@joshuafult84 Axl is a more talented vocalist, but I see them as equals when it comes to stage presence and just how iconic they are. Ever seen Metallica Seattle '89?
Best Rock Band ever. Axl's voice is like no other. He may not be in his prime now a days, but he still has it! And Even the intro to this song where it's just noises.. he even did with just his voice. So awesome.
GNR was the best (or let's say the biggest) rock band during the ending of the 80's or very early 90's (untill Nirvana's explosion). GNR still are one of the greatest rock bands...but imo The Rolling Stones have the title of the greatest rock band ever. It's a matter of longevity and respect. Just my opinion ofc.
@@MLCrow I might have agreed with you had they not gotten rid of Brian Jones. Regardless of personality, he WAS the heart and "soul" of TRS, and when Mick and Keith took his life's work away from him, they've sounded like an average garage band since. The guy played about a hundred instruments and you can hear his stylistic musicianship on every record, which gave the Stones their unique sound. The millions of dollars haven't replaced their lack of soul. So it's not so much a matter of longevity. And you can't really respect what they did to Brian. But just FYI: I met David Lee Roth through someone who worked for him. He was probably an early influence on GNR and all of these other new bands. I think they learned a lot from Diamond Dave. A master showman.
@@mariawarren8575 Well...it's subjective which band a person considers to be the best rock band, it's about personal preference but talking about relations between band members (and ex band members) don't forget even in GNR there's a lot of dirty stuff.
Thus definitely Axl Rose in his prime and I don't care what anyone says but there was no other singer on the planet at this moment that could even come within a million miles of him!! His voice was just strong and he hit all the notes perfectly and then add that to his stage presence and you have a top 5 Rock N Roll frontman of all time.
Very rarely did Guns sounded this tight live. This and The Ritz in '88 of course with Adler on the Drums. One of the best live performances of this song.
The 1992 professional recordings from the UYI tour (this one, Tokyo, Chicago) are generally very good - I think they were at the peak of their craft at that time.
@@fernandomurillo2812 it isnt really a cover for his voice, axl and guitar goes for the same key for some time and they harmonize. That makes the song even more magnificent
I'm lucky to see them perform like this (didn't see them in this particular tour but same year). I'm just here for the memories but man, the lighting here was wack and boring i didn't noticed back then because we were busy having fun.
I was a kid when I caught this live 3hr concert live on MTV. I jammed a Polaroid tape in the VCR and hit record!!!! Fuck whatever He-Man or TMNT cartoon was on there. Vocally though, live at the RiTZ was better, but they didn't have the big ass alien....

J'etais là!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 even the soundcheck could be heard from miiiiiiiiiles away with Axl singing Sinatra! The year after concerts were forbiden at Vincennes because of the "noise"... f*** this retired people country o'mine ☠️
Sorum just didn't have that bounce and pop that Adler gave this song. I love both eras of GNR, but they lost a little something when they let go of him.
