I took a look back at your videos. As I thought, the males from cross 2 have the largest tails as their Mother has the widest tail which is a half moon tail. In the other crosses, the females with the Delta tails also produced sons with tails that were wider than Gandalfs. If you want to breed for white male guppies with Wide Delta type tails always use breeder females with the widest Delta type tails. Good Luck. I think your videos are truly excellent.

@@IvansGuppies a cross between Electric blue moscow and blue dragon. Already achieve the desired phenotype in 1 drop which is snakeskin blue tail or Metal snakeskin blue tail.

I usually keep the male and female together for about 3 weeks before I separate them. Fry start showing up between 20-30 days. It really depends from guppy to guppy. The males at 4:33 are about 2.5 months old.
@@IvansGuppies oh yeah I wondered because iv introduced a new male 1st of feb for my female guppy and she's getting fatter day by day so maybe by the end of the month I might get some exotic spawns. Also even my guppies are about 2.5months+ but ever since 1.5 months they haven't grown in size as much , jus coloured up? Why is that everything was perfect as it was before any tips ?
Size will depend on temperature and food availability. But also on other factors that can be strain related. It’s hard to tell. I think as long as they are healthy, that’s all that matters.
great video. it looks like the females are inheriting the Delta type tail from their mothers without too much dimunition of size. Gandalf has a Flag type of tail. It will be interesting to see if the male fry start to have wider tails over the sucessive crosses.
It makes me nervous that you only have one male, even though he does have quite a lot of character. Do you have a plan for thiw project in the unfortunate event of his untimely demise? Are you able to get another from his line? Would you sidecross in another male to continue this project? Or would you start all over again?
That’s a good question. Fortunately, I think cross 9 is the last cross I’ll be using Gandalf for in this project. He will be put into a community tank after this. I’m planning to cross some of these lines together using some of his sons that show the white coloration.
