We all borrow from the best. In Gus G's case, he kinda borrowed these solo excerpts from John Norum's "Shimmering Highs" - Look it up and you hear exactly what I am talking about. And John Norum borrowed from Michael Schenker, Yngwie and Gary Moore.
you're right but you can't say Gus has no soul in playing and if you go listen to some of the old Firewind albums, I'm sure you'll find some licks and tunes you fill never forget. and just want to hear again.because they are damn right good.
gus can combine melodicness and speed he knows when to play fast aand when to play a slow pentatonic lick and a bend to make you cry....search for before the storm or this video here.his playing is so melodic .you must got no sense of music if you believe that he is not melodic
technicality is really as important as playing with emotion. Without perfecting technicality gus couldnt able to reach this level of lead guitar playing,
gus g is a much better guitarist then iommi. no one can write iconic licks like sabbath did. because there are too many bands. no one will ever stand out like the original bands did but gus is much better then iommi. i love them both btw
What? Sabbath licks? I learned Sabbath songs in 5th grade. Talk about basic, simplistic garbage... Not much more creative than kids banging on their moms pots and pans in the kitchen. Sabbath. jesus. Sabbath sucked. Not even music.
