This pedalboard is maybe his best one. That peterson is better than the polytune, the analogman chorus is better than the providence, the evendite delay sounds better than the tc, the guyatone wr 3 is better than the wr-5 etc etc And his suhr sounds better than his new charvel.

100% bro, back when he seemed to pick the gear he liked versus played the gear that endorsed him. I can respect the hustle and wanting to make a better living but can only imagine his home rig still has his old favorites, and of course his suhr moderns ;)

Joe pass is jazz and I think Guthrie can play that fairly well. And with Shawn Lane he was Guthrie s hero but I think Guthrie has surpassed him in terms of versatility and virtuosity

At the end, Guthrie takes his right hand away to make a metal sign whilst legatoing furioualy with his left hand. This is why everybody loves Guthrie. Otherworldly guitar skills, wicked sense of fun.

The guy on the left looks utterly defeated inspite of the niceties there is a bit of nudging going on, afterall they're both guitarists with guitars in hand. One can't help but to notice the entire time how this Guthrie character, subtley, yet pretentiously smothers the interviewer's face with his flawless playing and banal answers. Notice in Part 1 how the interviewer got a bit touchy about whether he was "avoiding" the question on whether he practiced a lot? A sign of greatness: up-manship.

Hey man, for a guy who had never had a lesson in his entire life, Dimebag was a fuckin awesome guitarist. I admit that guthrie can play circles around Dimebag any day due to his knowledge in music theory, but dimebag got FAR and had talent. He was way BEYOND what anyone who had never picked up a guitar before had. And solely DRIVEN by his influences. Anyone see what i did there?

All for one and beards for all! Seriously guys, can we all get over the "Catweazel" look asap! Jeez! Nice playin tho, just thought the try hard hair, goatee, beard thing detracted from an otherwise great performance. If you had had pony tails, I would have turned off at about .5 seconds! :)

@nepotiums I used to own a valley arts too. I didn't exactly take an arrow to the knee but i did leave it at the counter when I checked into the monastery, myself. As fate would have it Guthrie was there meditating on a certain Robben Ford bend. I took to tending the garden more than might be considered necessary.

@sunnyjim98 They like a thicker tone coming out of their guitar. I believe they do not like it when their guitar frequency is too trebly. Personally for me I boost mids so that Its in between the Trebly sound and Thick tone. But hey everyone has their own preferences.:)

There's a lot of great guitar players out there, but Guthrie is the one that most makes me feel like I'm wasting my time. It's like watching an impossible athletic feat. "Sorry kid, you'll never be able to jump 12 feet off the ground." I hate him...

What does he have against Bulb? I mean, he's not my personal guitar idol, but he's far from bad. He does some pretty wonderful things technique and recording-wise. He doesn't have to be your cup of tea, but he's a good musician.

@CJSchecter96 alot of them you cant run in the loop. But, the difference is a loop bypasses better than running in front. In other words it doesnt effect your overall tone as much but the loop also weakens some effects.

Y'know Casswell comes off as a self important pr%^ck to me, but I'm a guitar player and naturally I dislike other guitar players, except the handful of players that are truly innovative, Govan is one of those!

I don't know why they don't sell that WR3 anymore, their website is even gone, the Guyatone website, and you can find WR2 on ebay but not the 3. too bad.
