This will be so interesting to see as you demo and how you reconstruct. Your talent is beyond amazing and it is your decision to take on this project! No one should give negative comments. Just so interesting to watch you all the time! Thanks for involving you in your journey! Love watching your children growing. 💕 from NE Pennsylvania
It amazes me how people feel they need to tell them how to live their life. These people aren't paying their bills. They are doing what they are doing to better their lives. I love this channel. I love this family. I support this family. I love all their videos.
I have been watching since you were in Kokomo and you two still Amaze me. Can’t wait to how this mobile home transformed into a beautiful house. Wishing Ashley a very Happy Mother’s Day!
Glad you got one room done. Now the next room. One at a time. Love watching you two work together. You both are such hard workers. A lot of appreciation here for both of you. Have a great weekend.
We all knew Ash was doing the "clean up" work, but sweet of you to mention it in the video. AND I can't stop laughing every time I hear your 'fast forward' foot steps in the videos!! Love from Connecticut 🥰
I’ve always hated those plastic wall panels with the strips over the seams. When I gutted my mobile home, I was thrilled to get rid of them. I then furred out the 2x2 studs with 2x2’s and put rockwool insulation in the walls. Then vapour barrier (I’m in the north) and T&G walls. Much better. Warm, and feels like a cottage, not a MH. :)
Mavericks little "bye" at the end. So stinkin adorable. The mobile home looks very well built once the walls are down. You guys are the hardest workers. So awesome watching you work so well together
○ I have no idea why some people are so rude and against this rehab. ○ First and foremost, it's your money, time and life. Secondly, although it might be difficult for some people to believe, there is actually a large market for used mobile homes right now; mostly because of how much real estate has sky rocketed. ○ Brand new mobile homes (just the home, no land) are now costing what existing dwelling properties used to go for. This is actually an incredibly smart move for them financially. ○ I personally would be ecstatic if I came across a mobile home in this condition, for a price I was willing to pay AND that was movable; since I've been trying to find one for years now with no luck. ○ Doug. Ashley. I'm excited for this new chapter and I can't wait to see what you do with this single-wide! 🤩🥰 This is the 3rd single-wide you've rehabbed now, right? But the first that you've taken down to the studs?
@@diyfferent clearly I'm getting them all mixed up now 😆. I knew this was the first single-wide you've taken down to the studs, so I guess that means at least I'm not completely losing it! 😆 I feel like I can already see the build difference between this single-wide the Michigan double-wide. I'm excited to see the differences in the way they were built. And of course, what you guys do to it!!!! 😁💖
Great job! 🙂 You both are such hard workers, that is so nice to see in younger people. You both are such a good example for your children. Your hard work will truly payoff. Always keep a positive attitude! Thanks for sharing your journey! I will continue to watch. Take care, & have a nice day!🙂
My Grandfather was an electrician. The last thing on earth I would have expected to see in regards to removing an electrical outlet was a steel toed boot to the wall. That was hilarious! 😂
This is the most positive channel I have seen. I believe anything is possible with hard work. The respect this family has is beautiful! The property is going be lovely!
Great job as always. When Ashley was cutting the grass I thought what a nice piece of property. When you guys finish the trailer that will be a sweet place to call home for someone.
Doug, I can't believe how hard you work!! That was A LOT of tearing down and removal!! You did an Amazing job Doug!! And this video is perfect for me as i have water damage to my master bathroom... Ive torn down a little of the ceiling but have A Lot more to go... Thank you for sharing this with All of Us, it is So Helpful ❤ And Ashley, great job on working hard with that clean up mess!! That could not have been easy... Im proud of you Ashley! And Maverick getting in there to help out Mom and Dad is Awesome, good job Maverick ❤ BLESSINGS AND LOVE TO YOU ALL 🙏❤️🙏♥️🙏
You two are a great team ,I’m sure you’ll get this mobile home back to great shape to either rent or flip it will be a great money maker ,hard work will pay off …..your hard workers …love your videos ..thank you .♥️🇨🇦
I’ve did work for friends that owned trailers. They are cheap and junky. But your doing right strip it out. Then you will end up with a good rental. Your a hard working family. I enjoy the videos. Try never to miss one. Thanks from. Sc.
Just made Ashley's meatball recipe from early videos ❤ they were DELICIOUS! ❤ you guys are really inspiring & watching ur videos has & continues to help me through a rough patch ❤ thanks you & God bless
OH MY!!! I would never have thought trailers were framed in 1X4! I know you will do a much better job of rebuilding it than it was when it was new! You guys are amazing! You take on projects I would have taken a match and gasoline to! Thank you so much for all the entertainment. Have a great weekend!
I love these mobile home renovations. You’ve done this often enough to be old pros at it. Please don’t rush yourselves doing two homes at once is a huge undertaking, but I know you’re up to the task. I follow a fellow on homemade home who buys properties and does all the work himself rents some sells others I love watching you both. Reminds me of the Sam and Angela project too! 💜💜💜
Oh man, I had to take shower after watching this. Actually, I have to get back to putting 16' metal siding on the ceiling of a new 2500 square foot shop a friend is building down my street. That's what I get for retiring early and being bored. We are insulating it as we go. Ugh! Lol
I just want to say that if either one of you two were my child, I would be so proud of you. Your work ethic and dedication is to be admired. Well done!
I've seen you do this so many times and yet, it always makes me feel overwhelmed until you take the yellow stuff out of the walls(I'm so technically savey😅) then I remember the patern you go through 🎉🎉
That was cool to watch! I always wondered what was behind the wall of a Mobil home. Man, you two work hard. So glad to see that there was not too much deterioration on the floor and ceiling. I saw you're finished on your last Mobil home; it was amazing. This one will be even better. Hope you both take a good break from all that work.
That's where I started by watching these 2. I have taken a whole kitchen apart, put in a galley kitchen, I have learned how to replace all receptacles in my mobile home. On to the next. I want to replace my 2 bedroom windows, at this time.
Your strong dude.My Aunt is a retired teacher, wonderful woman. She desperately needs some work in her home. Its damaged. She does not want to get a new one because she is almost done paying.
This is so great to see. I've always wondered how to totally reno a dilapidated mobile home because if the bones are good it could be a really good deal. These days tiny homes are really getting a lot of attention but some of them are still very expensive, which seems to go against the purpose of living small. If a used mobile home can be rehabbed for a good price, and made really lovely inside, for way less than some tiny homes, to me that sounds like a better way to go.
Mobile homes are made in an assembly line where they are taught to work as fast as possible. The material used is often subpar. I can’t believe the bones are “strong.”
This start of this video (pulling out the window AC and having the whole wall want to come with it) made it look like this house was going to be a total disaster. Fortunately, the rest of the room (walls, floor, and roof) all looked basically intact.
Had a bad feeling when the bedroom exterior wall was flexing so much as Doug was pulling out the window AC. I was thinking "oh no, not good". That said, having seen their previous mobile home remodel, the one with the old school on the property, I know what great work they do...so whatever they find it will probably be better than OK in the end.
Why I think it's so intresting to get things down to bare wall like i want to see treasure. is interesting to me. Thanks I hope this build won't be too bad for you. Can't wait to see the end. LOL you do such beautiful work.
I'm always so impressed by the two of you. Talk about small but mighty! You do the work of like four men. Lol. Such a great working team /family. I laughed so hard at your humor during this demo, how to remove a trailer outlet!? Then you just kick it in.😅😂😂 I am loving this and I'm so looking forward to it being finished and seeing it all done. But most of all to have the financial security that comes with it. So excited for you guys!❤
I live in a trailer and watching you tear out the carpet brought back many memories of when i did mine. Never have carpet again un my trailer. Great job you guys.🍓🤗 God bless you and your family.
Wow , Doug - Brute strength and methodical perseverance !!!! And , Ashley is a powerhouse of efficiency too !! Even Maverick helps 🎉 !!!! Great job 👏 😘❤️
Thanks for giving credit all around. I notice you always say "we" got this that done when sometimes it appears that you're doing all the work. I know Ashley is working just as hard as you are and usually the kids too, even if we don't see it. hugs from here!
My life long bestfriend and I went into together and bought a 10 acre piece of land on Lake Conroe Texas that had a older 12x60 mobile home, No idea what year it was manufactored. Over Memorial day weekend we drove down and gutted it, walled up both ends 3"' apart, boxed in the frame ends and cut it in half and are building 2 12X30 (360 sq ft) tiny homes for retirement, He's going to take 5 acres and half the mobile home and I'm going to take the other 5 acres and mobile home. He's still got a few years before he retires but I'm 18 months away, I retired from the Army after 21 years in 2011 and then started my 2nd career, once I hit my 15th year at work I'm eligible for early retirement and I'm going to take it. I have a little 16 foot travel trailer that I can live in while I go back and forth and build my half. I'm getting ready to take my 2 week vacation and I'm going to spend the entire time down there working on it and should get alot of it done, then I'll go down there most long weeknds and I get a week at the end of the year that we shut down the warehouse to do inventory so that's another week, my goal is to have it completely done and move-in ready by the end of next summer, This summer while I'm down there I'm going to plant some fruit trees and bushes and clear out the area for my garden and start preparing to build my homestead.
15 seconds into this I clicked the "like" button because I knew it was going to be a good one, and you did not disappoint. Idk why, but I'm super excited for this renovation!
Great job on the demo Doug and Ashley!! You two are the hardest working people ever!! Just wondering, have you considered laying a plastic tarp on the floor ( over the carpet) to catch at least some of the small pieces of drywall, plastic, staples, etc. ( The things you had to pick up before you could remove the carpet). It would make it easier to let debris fall on a tarp, then you and Ashley can just pick it up and dump it, instead of taking several trips picking up the debris. You could let the tarp fill up as much as you want, or dump it more than once. Where I live, we can get a 10x10 foot tarp at WalMart for around $10.00. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us! ❤❤. I also appreciate that you put out three videos in a very short time!! Great editing job Ashley!! Blessings to your family!! ❤❤❤
My husband and I flipped a three bedroom ranch. It was approx 1200 sq feet. It took us six dumpsters!! The house had a basement piled full of junk, plus we totally gutted the kitchen, bathroom, and deck. We also had to replace all the woodwork around the windows, doors, and baseboards. Also replaced all windows and all doors. I don’t think you’ll end up needing six dumpsters! Maybe just two or three! ❤❤❤
Watching demo is so satisfying lol! Too bad it was too hot to wear the protective suit to keep the insulation and debris off you but glad you have a nice respirator to keep it out of your lungs. It's crazy how many staples they use in mobile homes. Way too many. I was surprised how solid the room was after demo other than the rot under the window, which we all knew was there. I hope the rest of the house is in as nice a shape. Hopefully the bathroom isn't too bad. Ashley is always a great helper behind the camera. You two make an excellent team. Excited to see more!
I like you directions on removing electrical sockets. Smile. So far so good. Maybe 80 % good, very little damage or rot. Score. Yea Ashley and Mavrick. Team work makes the dream work.
When I saw that insulation falling from the ceiling, I thought, "The project would have been abandoned here." YUCK!!! And then when you had to tackle all the staples....I think 90% of people would have said, "No way" and walked away from the remodel. Impressive display of persistence and fortitude! Never doubted that Ashley was working just as hard behind the scenes.
Best compact and practical closet I have had was in a manufactured home. It was built in the corner of the bedroom like a square with the front where the door is diagonal. But not a triangle. Small foot print with big storage. Two rods and a shelf over both rods. And a regular door. So much better then the long shallow closets with sliders or bi-fold door.
I commend your determination. It had to be a pain to take out everything and find a years worth of staples in that one room. I guess they made sure nothing came loose or fell down. It will be interesting to see what is behind the walls in the next rooms. Y'all have a Blessed day. .
I love how Maverick always says bye at the end. I always say bye Maverick back.😊 Another great video. It’s exciting to see what you will do with this place. I know it’s going to be awesome 😊
Great work! Interesting to see how different homes are built. Modern manufactured homes have definitely come a long way compared to how this is constructed. What a welcome surprise the floor is plywood and not osb or particle board! I like the flexibility that a MH can provide in that you can usually get a used one affordable and modify it as much or little as you want to meet your needs and specs. Would highly recommend ozoning the home to kill any lingering mold spores. I got mine years ago and use it on so many projects, as well as lend it to other friends and family.
