During the 4 months of working with the rescue and Lauren (the girl in the video besides me) , I kept telling her … I don’t know how you’re gonna do this… . Part of me didn’t want to take him just for the simple fact that I didn’t want to cause her heartache by taking him away ! But much like an open ended adoption with human babies, I have kept in constant contact with her and the rescue and I send pics, videos , updates, etc. so he’s never far way and they are welcome to see him any time they want to ;)

I think every human being is also the same. Let's all be the best version of ourselves

Yes. Lauren is very special . We have stayed in contact since my adoption of Simba and I often send her pictures and videos (some of which appeared in this video) :) I told her that Simba can come stay with her for a little overnight slumber party anytime she wants :)

There are still good people but God is great!

Simbas trauma will never fully be healed and he will retain some of his issues for the rest of his life. That’s why he was considered a “special needs” adoption. But the work they did to even make him adoptable should not be discounted by any means. The work they did was extraordinary and I’m so thankful to them because it’s that work that allowed me to be able to bring him into my home as a member of the family and I continue to work with him every day to build upon what they had done with him. But it was important to them that I understood , as his forever home , that his issues would not just magically disappear , and that if I was looking for a “perfect dog”, then Simba was not the one for me. But I DID understand these things and accepted Simba for who he is . Challenges and all.:)

I feel the same. I'm desperate to know what mixed breed Simba is. My rescue Marley looks exactly like Simba! Scame into my life during cancer treatment. SHE sensed the pain waves after marrow boosting shots the day after chemo. She wouldn't leave my side in the bed & followed me to the bathroom every time. The 2 male rescues l had for years went about their business, but not Marley. It will be 5 years since l said goodbye to her, but the pain is still there. I'm crying as l write this while thinking of her.. ..

@@jac929 I'm so sorry for your loss :( it's a certain kind of pain to lose a dog, but even worse to lose one you've bonded so well with. Marley sounded wonderful, I'm glad you had her in a time of need ♡
