@@lathafalls7675 usually, people buy dogs, an Eskimo being the "cheapest" and the price goes higher with other breeds. So people buy dogs from other countries, use them for breeding to make money. So other "local" dogs on the streets, no one cares for them or feeds them. If they take food they're not given, they may be beaten or worse.

It’s difficult for both cat and guardian, but it doubles the life expectancy of the cat, that’s worth almost any sacrifice, if the cat can be happy. I won’t get another cat until I can afford to get a safe, enclosed outdoor catio (cat patio). There are special contractors who design and build them now. When my beloved old kitty lost her vision to kidney disease, she loved going out on our deck just to feel the sun and sniff the breezes, but I never left her side, there were places she could have fallen. Amazingly, once established on her new blood pressure medicine, her sight was restored! Neither we nor the vet could quite believe it, but her eyes were definitely tracking objects again when the vet tested her. The pressure in her eyes came right down. We knew before that she could see us, too, it was obvious one day.🙂

I just wrote a comment about how my cat Henry climbed onto the third floor roof of my apartment complex when he was a baby and day two of the crisis, trying everything to entice him down, I rang the Fire Dept, not thinking they would come but they did! Phew, what a relief! So happy your Chester got the help he needed finally, it's such a stressful time for the cat and us alike. ᓚᘏᗢ
