After leaving the cinema watching Dune 2 with the boys, there sat a little mouse on the floor and one of the boys called "it's the mouse from Dune", then I said "it's Muad'Dib" and suddenly everyone shouted "Muad'Dib", pointing at the mouse. Ten grown up men pointing at a little mouse, I'm sad that nobody took a picture of this exquisite meme template.
This really does capture how Paul felt in the book. He gains a hightened awareness from the spice and sees all the possibilities springing forth from his present actions and collapsing as he makes a choice. One of the things the new film doesn't quite do justice are the characters' complex inner thoughts. The '80s film had hokey voiceover, but Timmy does a good job of showing his character's inner journey.
Of course Timmy do good job! When Timmy your age, his father told him "go catch sandworm to ride", Timmy reply "just one?" Meanwhile, only thing you catch is Z's! You faaaailure!
@@SpyrosKoronis No dukeling born after 10191 can commit intergalactic genocide. All they know is the collective memory of their ancestors, cut they off spice supply, turn into giant worm, eat hot spice, and lie.
No, just no. The 84 film did that and was garbage. Adapt the story to the medium, it’s boring and lame listening to people exposit inner thoughts. “Show don’t tell” is how you do movies and it’s all conveyed very well. I know it’s the iPad generation or whatever but paying attention pays off.
0:19 I love that added detail of the woman's vocalizing turning into hollering for a second before the scene changed. Very nuanced to your content. I love it.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I had a Mead spiral notebook full of quotes from the Dune books as a newly minted teenager. I thought the quotes at the beginning of the chapters we're the peak of philosophy and would guide me through life. They were pretty nice. For example "Parting with friends is a sadness. A place is only a place." So deep.
The string up the nose is inspired!! I nearly lost it when I realized what it was because, from just seeing the picture of the video ad, I thought "where did he get a Dune costume like that?" I think this is your best work and look forward to more.
Can we just have a moment of admiring the cinematography? The lighting? I mean, the Dune shots were so awesome it took me a solid 15 seconds to realize he had a hoodie lace as a stillsuit nosepiece.
Steven hit another one out of (his mind) the park! I love these vids. Not just the creativity and obvious fun everyone has, but the respect and camaraderie. OMG! The drawstring! 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Omg I know exactly what you’re talking about, sometimes I time travel but only forwards, because the shower feels so nice I forget about everything except the made conversation I’m having, so the time just flies away until my internal narrator reminds me about the water bill from last month, lol.
@@StevenHe its funny bc i read an acticle questioning how they were going to handle movie 2 with the heavy internal monologues and i figured they would handle it the same way anime does XD

@@StevenHe sick, now do more. Milk your new found cinematic prowess for all it's worth. Spielberg shall be the 2nd most well known director named Steven. The movie industry is now your oyster!
Omg this was comedy gold. Literally made me laugh out loud with the bus stop stance. “What’s that weirdo in the trench coat doing?” Lololol. Fear is the mind killer. 😂😂👏👏👏🥹
“Before the bin i stand, the gateway to oblivion where all things are equalized, I will face exhaustion, I will permit it to pass over and through…” “Why are you walking like that?”
