GV80 tailgate not opening

Hey guys welcome back, I got this gv80 with tailgate issue. This car every time it comes to the shop complaining regarding the tailgate not opening, me the tech cannot duplicate the issue. Then we will release the car and the 8ssue will not happen again. Until it came back like maybe 3rd visit and when I tried it, it did not work. AWESOME Approach using the scanner to see what is involve and what is working or what is not receiving the command to opera the trunk keep at it you been gone with out showing any videos for long time hope will see more videos from u in shorter time great fix and thanks for sharing cheeeeeers.

I have a 17' hyundai tucson. Mine is doing same thing with all the buttons it will not open. Its like its not releasing the latch. It closes fine. I dont have a scanner at the moment to check anything. But i replaced the latch and actuator and it didnt fix the problem. If i pull the 40 amp fuse for the lift gate and reinstall it, it will work just fine but only that once

If I latch it manually with a screwdriver, then it opens the latch fine but if it latches on the striker it doesn't. Its like the gate tries to come up but stays put and latches back

Did you try when you try to open it to assist the tailgate to open? Do you see anything in the striker that signs of scratch or something like that? Maybe the striker and the latch is not line up correctly?

@@hyundaitech I tried to pull it open when I hit the buttons with no luck but yes honestly I do see on the left side of the striker almost like it's more to one side

@@johnromero1887 maybe try adjusting it and see loosen the torx screw then move the striker while holding to its position then retightened the screws. Let me know

@@hyundaitech I will try it tomorrow. I appreciate the advice. I been trying different things and I ran down the battery so I have to charge it. I just didn't understand why it works that one time only when I pull the 40 amp fuse and put it back.
