2006 Lexus GX470 with 228k miles. Bought it last month and it failed Maryland state inspection for a hole in the muffler.
The Magnaflow 11226 muffler was a smaller design and was $99, maybe $30 cheaper than OEM. Recommended on GXOR. This video was filmed right after it was installed, and since then it’s calmed down maybe 10%. It did have to be welded in.
Overall it’s got more V8 sound, a little more drone(tolerable but it’s definitely there), and probably saved a little weight and maybe added a few hp. If you want your truck to be more noticeable it’s a good way to go. Personally I would say it’s a touch too loud, but I don’t really mind it. Already have another V8 with headers and valved catback so I was hoping this would add some burble but be drone free. 7/10 for me.
