I swear by the Q2 Tire (non express). Application does take a little prep and work but once applied and buffed it leaves a very nice deep matte black look that lasts a good while.

LOL on liking the look of the bottle and the branding. A few years ago I bought the Gyeon detailing bag (which I love) I had to have it full of Gyeon products. Of course, I had non at the time so I had to order like $400 worth to fill it up. And of course, I can never put another branded product in the bag, just wouldn't feel right. Spot on how you said Gyeon has great branding, but also killer product. I guess I need to order this one, even though I have a bottle of Gyeon Tire I still haven't even used lol. Anyone looking for a nice detailing bag, it's not cheap but the Gyeon one's GOOD! I have the large model, they make a small one too.

great little review Jon, I agree with you on the dressing. Due to the high mileage I do every week I wash the car once or twice weekly and I just like to dress the tyres every time for a great result. Durability on a tyre dressing seems pointless, if it lasts a week I’m happy. I do prefer the finish on the glossy side personally. I use the Autoglym tyre shine and I find that works best on a wet tyre as well 👌

This product does not get a lot of mention. I don't think it is SiO2 infused. I found no mention of it from Gyeon anywhere. I am sure it is similar to CarPro Perl but who knows. Here is what I found. Gyeon now has 2 tire dressings, and here is what you need to know about each of them: Gyeon Q2 Tire is quartz based, and will last longer than Q2M Tire Express. The trade-off is that Q2 Tire takes more time to apply, and requires a dwell time in order to fully absorb into the tire. Gyeon Q2M Tire Express is water based, and is meant to apply thinly and cleanly in very little time. It will not last as long as Q2 Tire, but is easier to apply, in both wet or dry.

So far I've used Auto Finesse Satin and Car Pro Pearl. I've found AF satin not to last that long. However, it might be down to poor prep as I find it cumbersome to spend ages prepping the tyre. However, with pearl I noticed that it lasted quite a while. This might be due to better prep. Once my bottle of Satin is finished, I think I'll stick to Car Pro Pearl.

Expected this outcome when I saw the review pop up Jon! 😉 I got a bottle of this with the Gyeon goodies I won back during December and have used it quite a few times. It's definitely glossy but it can be toned down quite a bit by buffing with a MF. I've tried it at 2 parts dressing to 1 part water and it gives the nice satin finish you speak of. Still lasts a few weeks until the next wash as well 👍 Good stuff I think and only this, waxaddict tyre feeder and autoglanz trim reaper are working on these new goodyear supersport tyres. The other 4 I have don't agree with them annoyingly!

I have lots of probs as well with the michelains brian.. but this worked really well. It was just too shiny neat. much better like you say with water.. im gonna drop it down 2 to 1 just like you said. Its very good though, im pretty impressed with this. So wax addict and AG trim repeat and gyeon express are your 3 favs right?

@@ForensicDetailing Trim reaper is a corker of a dressing Jon. So easy to apply, dries to the touch (glossy) and it's durable. Waxaddict Tyre Feeder is much the same though I'd say that is slightly less glossy. These tyres are so strange though, the asymmetric 3s I had on the Abarth loved every tyre dressing, these really don't. They don't like Frost Onyx, Lucas Oil Tyre, Wowo's Tyre Dressing & Tac Systems! Yeah I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either of those, really good mate.

Our dressing lasts for up to 6 months and it will look just as good after a few weeks a light scrub with omniclean will remove any dirt or browning on the coated tires and being them back to a just dressed look with out the needing to reapply any dressing to the tires

Here's a thought... I'm a big fan of the Autoglym "Instant Tyre Dressing" - I spray it onto the tyres and rub it in with a synthetic chamois (Got it free and I'll be bollocksed if its going anywhere near my paint!) - Piece of piss to use, works a treat and I can use it every week. This - watered down 3:1 in a spray bottle might be an ideal replacement! That'd put it on par with the AG product for value, but based on the results you got on the Golf, I reckon it'd work better! Well worth a try I'd say!

its crazy but all these dressings perform different on different tyres.. I find michelains a nightmare. Contis dress up great. On the golf the nexens are pretty good and take most dressings well.

@@ForensicDetailing Funny you say that, my Giulia is wearing Michelins at the moment, so is my boyfriend's Mini. I don't have any troubles with them! I'm using AG Tyre Gel every four weeks at the moment with the instant tyre dressing weekly. That said, my Giulia still has its CrossClimates on from the winter, and the Mini has a midrange tyre I forgot the name of. I imagine your BMW had PS4s? Possibly an issue with dressing performance rubber?

It's just a foam paint brush, usually sold for varnishes and polyurethane. Anyplace that sells paint will have them.

Yeah, with Gyeon's regular tyre dressing I find I have to wipe the excess off after an hour or two or it looks too greasy/glossy in the sun.

more glossy, slighlty greasier to the touch but similiar. perl doesnt gloss up like this if you apply it dry though.

Do you know what would be really cool? A product that you can use whilst you shampoo, rinse or final wipe down that puts a nice shiny coating on your car but also dresses your tyres and rubbers. I know that some carnuba detail sprays sort of dress your rubber trims but it would be cool to just have something that does it for you. Dressing tyres is just the worst job for me it can be so messy. I'm using soft99 one atm and it gets black stuff everywhere. I really did like carpro pearl used it one everything. 🤣

I think the blue isnt water based. I use it, comes out thick n dont need a lot of product. Also last about 2.5 weeks from what ive experienced

yer I bought this from clean and shiny I payed 23 quid. problem with me going through and saying you can buy it from XXXX for 23 quid and yyy for 24 quid and zzzz for 23.50.. prices change. I think the best thing is to shop around if you want best price. With something like gyeon its gonna be 1 pounds here or there typically so its not critical.

As much as I like my tyres looking good I’ve gotten away from these types of products that give a shiny appearance, I’ve since gone to soft99’s tyre wax easy on and buff it to a great matte black shine... like new look..

There is no SiO2 in Tire Express. You’ve confused it with Gyeon Q2M Tire.

Ive not confused it (at least not in my head but I understand your point). Gyeon Tire uses like a different funky solvent carried thing, its a different material yes.. This I think uses a similiar Si material to carpro perl a water based or water dispersed trimethylated silane... but yer not 100% sure.. All these korean flavored products use some funky things... In the SI family though rather than a traditional silicone. (disclaimer I could be wrong)

It guarantees not only durability, but splendid visual effects as well. The product might be layered or heated up in order to extend its durability even further. So many of the products though come under the SI family and SI02 doesnt typically cover the materials properly... thats why I sort of say I could be wrong.. but I dont think express is a silicone based dressing.. think of it more like perl... but who knows.

Wow wasn't expecting such different reviews (from the two tests I have seen). Will be interested for the 3rd judgment (Jon). While DaveCHCI doesn't like the branding because it's not 'detailing' enough I think is a little unfair. It's a car care set for people who want to go a step further than TurtleWax wash and wax.

A Microfiber towel is good to use with kerosene but is not really going to have any additional benefits over a good stiff scrubbing brush with a good tire cleaner that is alkaline based like omniclean

not sure yet... I think doing like a "best wheel dressing" video I will decide.. but theres a similairity to gyeon tyre epxress and perl.. they are not identical but they are similiar. thing with perl is I can use it for interiors engine bay and palstics etc... so I would give it perl right now.

@@behindthen0thing525 your well come the wax helps prevent tire shines from bonding to the surface By removeing the oxidised layer to get a much better bond with the rubber to the tire shine which should make it lasts a lot longer 👍

The reason for most tires dressing not lasting long it's down to poor prep work all purpose cleaner won't clean the tire effectively

I apply PERL wich is super cheap and easy to use, so it's not a problem for me to reapply every week :) I'm washing the car every 1 week or 2 weeks so no problem...

I bought this last week ended up washing my car last Sunday by Wednesday it rained drove my car and by the time I got home it was completely gone . I was using Chemical guys VRP for years and the results are the same and it last longer on my tire even in the rain compare to gyeon tire express . Wasn’t impressed at all

your results do not tie in with mine at all Rafael, but I appreciate the feedback. Gyeon sort of state its a lower durability product (they have a proper ceramic tyre coating as well as this express water based one). but I actually find tyre express has ridiculous good durability for a dressing. I also have VRT and I will compare a load of dressings soon in a video. From what IVe seen I would lay money on express outlasting VRT. I will bring in some metering equipement to test it properly as well. Im not sure how you guys are able to measure durability.. Its actually hard to do with tyres. Since doing this video express has continue to impress me. I love this stuff.. The only downer is its very very similiar to carpro perl but that is more versatile.

The gyeon tyre express is totally unnecessary. The normal gyeon tyre is as easy to apply as the express version and lasts much longer. Anyway, nice video 👍

dont agree at all boff boff but appreciate your opinion.. The gyeon tyre is much thicker, benefits from proper prep and drying. The tyre express you can hurl on after you have washed them. In fact express makes a lot more sense to me... I would also definety glove up with gyeon tyre there is something very funky about it you can really feel its like a proper ceramic type thing.. something different.
