Django and Stephane turned me into a gypsy jazz fan and led me to find and love more and more of these musicians, Angelo Debarre, Tchavolo Schmidt, Stochelo Rosenberg, Jimmy Rosenberg.. and I keep discovering more and more of them. If I could spend the rest of my life sitting around listening to all of these guys play, what a life that would be!
It goes on with an interview but I prefer to splitup such from the Music-Video part just trying to avoid annoying effects loading this in a playlist. I'm not sure also if I digitzed the whole part so if you request met to see the rest I'll have to do some work but let me know and we'll see. Kind regards, Aart.
wow that would be awesome to see the interview. I also have some 3 hour footage on dvd a friend of mine copied it from nonnie rosenberg. It includes a workshop at a conservatory with Jan akkerman. And some great performances. I will put it on youtube!
Always a shame but ebay is like a kind of trap, if you ain't quite rich, others will have the thing you bid on within the last seconds. I hope for sure the one who's won that guitar will handle and above all, will play it well
I'm afraid not, did read some negative reactions from out of the family approx half year ago and had to check out what was the big problem. He was getting individual treatment those day's but that wasn't helping that much, just to bad, i feel sorry for him whising I could be of any help but his own inner strenght should be decisive to help him out. I still hope with you he'll succeed someday and will be able again to show us his talent.
When the "individual treatment" isn't helping, it's time to switch therapists. There IS good therapy out there. If I knew him, I could recommend some great people in Spain. I just hope he doesn't give up and fall back into the darkness... both for his, and the world's sake.
@mbzuid well.. it would have been more appropriate to say "now one of my favorite guitar players.." since its to general a statement. However, Django ultimately being my favorite, I also am a big fan of Trey Anastasio (which of course is a different genre altogether.. for the most part,) and Lukasz Kuropaczewski has to take it for classical. I am starting to become a big fan of Vignola, but have yet to purchase any of his material.
Some people are talented, others are blessed with a natural talent that goes beyond just talent. This guy is too young to play that good. He was born with a guitar in his hands. Very seldom.
Saw Jimmy 21/5/2011 getting on stage with Angello Debarre after Angello's Trio gig in Liberchies. It was just fantastic ! If you want, there was the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit !
