Hi Phil, I’m old 🤣 and enjoying your waffle, even though I wasn’t on the live stream! Lonely no more!!! I enjoyed a flight with you out of Turweston a couple of years ago... might book another one with you soon... keep the blue side up!
Hi Phil, I'd like to ask two question. I can't find the answer anywhere. 1. Are there Gyrocopter syndicates around in the UK, which would allow me to buy a share in a gyro? 2. If I was to purchase a share, what would be the ongoing running costs? I'm especially interested in knowing the hourly flying cost. Any idea? Amin
Hi - Its a good question and one I've been asked a few times lately so I might do a specific film. In the meantime to answer 1) best place is to put an advert on www.afors.com that will gain whatever traction there can be. 2) running costs wise then as with most aircraft it depends upon the number of hours flown but fixed cost wise you'll need a hangar, insurance, annual permit renewal, which will cost c.£6K /yr. Then the hourly costs. Gyroplanes have become very expensive lately and mainly because the popular AutoGyro Sport which used to retail at £70 & 80K. That has limited the second hand market as nobody moves on to the new model and because of the build process & UK regulatory environment means you can't source aircraft from outside of the UK economically. Very sadly my advice to recent enquiries has genuinely been don't both - learn to fly a fixed wing.
