My mother Elsie Whiteley, then Elsie Smith, escaped from this inferno and hence my sister and I are here to tell the tale. Olive Blakelock was her friend.

Very sad story ,my mother told me about this tragic occurrence a couple of years ago. As we regularly attend her Grand-parents grave we will visit the Memorial next time we're there.
