Hey Alf, fitted mine yesterday, although i did take the fender off and I used and epoxy - (Gorilla weld) as I didn't want it flying off down the road some time in the future. I also used the same clamps from Mr Bezos lol. Really happy with the fit.
Just went through my first rainstorm with the fender extender on the Sport Glide. I have to report that it made it made - No Noticeable Difference!. The front of the bike got filthy everywhere- as before, my legs got soaked -as before, but it stayed on the bike so the glue works -so thats a positive!. Maybe there was slightly less filth on the oil cooler, but its marginal, so looking forward to hearing about other people’s experiences.
Yes I said at the end of the video that perhaps more plastic to tape on below and on the side for the winter which will help with that. Think the only real way to stop that is to have a wrap around fender. Cheers
You probably remember I went with a Pyramid Plastics extenda fender some time ago which I modified to fit. It has worked out great and kept a lot more dirt of the bike. To do a proper job it would need to be longer though. I have just ordered one of these bespoke fit items and used your discount code so thanks very much for that :)
Mine fell off. Lasted a month only. Careful preparation and installation, proper curing time observed, etc. Just changed my bike so no need for a new one, but if I was buying it again I would use the rivets to ensure a secure fit.
Glad you like the fenda extenda Alf I'm glad my recommendation was useful although I'm slightly dubious as to how long it will stay on lol, I took my fender off to fit allowing thorough cleaning of the underside and also used the plastic rivets supplied in the kit although they are not expensive so if you loose it on the road one day you can always fit another but perhaps take it off to fit and use the rivets next time 😁 . . Or use your new nail gun 😂👍 Take it easy dude 👍🤘
Mine has been on for a few months and it's showing no signs of coming loose yet. I modified a Pyramid Plastics existing shape to fit the Sport Glide fender.
Hi Alf, is the F.E. holding up well after 3 years? I'm thinking of getting one for my Softail Slim (which Pyramid do make) and I was sure how tolerant the adhesion is to riding on bumpy roads over the long term.
So... I followed the instructions and my extender lasted less than 2000 km. Somewhere on the highway in the interior of British Columbia is a piece of plastic. I highly recommend a different way to attach it. I didn't want to drill holes (potential rust issue) plus my bike is silver so the black plastic rivets would stand out too much. I'm disappointed since I didn't really get a good test of it.
