Gotta love the visibility and steering in a prelude. The two best features of the car easily. I used to be able to steer my old 88 prelude with just my pinky finger at a complete stop. Its amazing.
Pulled an h22a at p-n-p paid 300 bucks. Got a m2f4 prelude si vtec trans from an old friend for 100 bucks. Thinking of all the chassis I could put this swap in I can't even lie a 3rd gen prelude would be most rewarding as a previous 4th gen bb1 si vtec owner. I love the longer wheelbase and the attention to detail in literally everything. They're such beautiful cars. Thanks for sharing your POV video with us all. Cheers. What ever happened to your prelude? Did you swap it? I swapped the h22a in my 89 si, but it had a few problems and has now been sitting in my garage for years.
+Jeremiah Skates iv'e never seen a k20 swapped into a 3rd gen i think i saw a picture but i heard that swap would be way more time and money. I personally want to do the h22 swap because you can get a lot of help from the prelude community
Jeremiah Skates run a stock f20b with a small turbo running low boost (5 psi) you'll have yourself a fast, cheap, reliable, sexy, boosted prelude! or go h23a with skunk 2 pro 2 cams, an accord euro r I.M. and a 2.5" exhaust and youll have a N.A. tourque monster! either way keep it a F,H/G seires, too many people doing K swaps! plus it wont sound like a prelude anymore with a k! keep it old skool, keep it a prelude!
hey I also got a 4ws lude. 1991 si 4ws, and was wondering how hard the swap was and what components did you need? can it be smoked? and approx. how much was the investment
You can buy H22a's for less than 3k with transmission and lsd. Motor mounts are provided by 1funryd for 650 I believe. Conversion harnesses are another 330 I believe. the swap is as straightforward as it gets because it's very well documented.
I nearly went for an S2000 but got an FD RX-7 instead. Whilst I never had a 3rd Gen Prelude myself, my best friend in high school had 1 and my sister and g/f also had 1. Such a fun car, great handling and road feel. My gf sold her car when we left to travel around the world and still wants it back. She's not a confident driver but the Honda always gave her confidence. This was the best generation of Prelude in my opinion the later ones were too square looking and not nearly as exciting. These were baby NSX's.
