I just caught your H2O Sling hack. I've used another one before where they had the pocket extend down into the box on the bottom. After doing both, I'm not sure which one I prefer. However, I do really like the hack you only used the main body piece for the entire process, which the other hack didn't do (that I can recall). Kudos!!!! Loved your tutorial. Your explanations were on spot!!! GREAT JOB!

Can you make another video making the same thing but adding drawstring fabric section so we can close the bottle to prevent falling, dust, cough around, saliva, etc. I feel nervous leaving my bottle top exposed.

I will try this, I’m thinking it’ll save me a lot of time considering how long it took me for my first one. However, the only change I will make is, instead of having the seam right in the middle of the bottom as shown in 16:30 I will adjust the measurements so that the seam will be on the side area. I can see it in my mind but don’t know how to describe it so hopefully you know what I mean lol.

I think I understand what you're saying, but remember if you change your seam placement, you need to change that at the beginning when you cut it all out - which would include watching where your strap adjustments go

I have a question... what if we left off the 2nd lining layer for the pocket? if you lay the lining right sides it still turns out correct? maybe a little less bulk to sew through and a bit more room in the pocket.

It would be less bulk, yes, however, you'll end up with either an exposed seam or a pocket that is missing a layer of lining 😞

Hi there! The original pattern is by LindsHandmadeDesigns - there are no written instructions for the hacks as that would need to be done/approved by the original designer of the pattern 🥰

Thank you for this great tutorial. What was the seam allowance when you sewed the top edge before birthing? Does the bag stand sturdy without the bag base stiffener like in the original pattern? Or could I just cut a base out and put it in between the lining and main before closing the birthing hole? Thank you

Anytime! The seam allowance I typically use at the top is 1/4" - I notice that the bag still stands nice and sturdy between the layer of SF101 and the lining's WPC being pretty stiff. If you wanted a little extra, you could add another layer of SF101 or decovil (or similar)!

Hi, when sewing the lining to the outside pocket on the top and bottom, before putting the zipper pull on, what seam allowance did you use?

I use a 1/4" seam allowance - however, if you use a 3/8" - your overall pocket will just be a tiny bit smaller 🥰

How much would you have to trim off if you wanted there to be no center seam on the outside back?

I would assume you could trim 1/4" from the back edge and tape the paper piece together to make a seamless back, since that's the seam allowance used to put those two pieces together. But if you take out that seam, top stitching the side of each side of the pocket is going to be really tough.
