In this tutorial I show you how to make a quicker version of the H2O 2GO by Linds Handmade combining 2 different hacks for the original pattern.
The slip and zip pocket hack, replacing the curved zip pocket, and the box bottom hack which replaces the oval shaped base.
You will need to purchase the pattern from Linds Handmade which can be found here
lindshandmade....
The measurements for the pieces I use are as follows... (width x height)
Side pieces x2 - main fabric (5.75" x 13.5")
Centre piece - accent fabric (5.5" x 13.5")
Front bottom piece - main fabric (5.5" x 7.5")
Front top piece - main fabric (5.5" x 2")
Pocket lining piece - lining fabric (5.5" x 11")
Pocket back piece - accent fabric (5.5" x 9.5")
Zip #5 - 6"
Original exterior piece with 2" added to length
Original liner piece with 2" added to length
The slip pocket is assembled with a 1/4" SA.
The main bag is assembled with 3/8" SA.
Happy Sewing,
Ebony

I liked your video the best so far. Very clear explanation, not too much talking, no annoying background music, no wasted time watching a person sew! I want to see what to do and watch myself sew!😂 Thank you very much! Lynn, Louisiana, USA

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your style of teaching! You speak beautifully to start with, but aside from that, I appreciate not being spoken to, like in many tutorials, as if they are teaching a 4 year old. Baby talk, unnecessary repetitive instruction, going over and over and over the same point is so annoying! Not to mention speeding through and not explaining things properly, but talking nonstop about nothing important, just drives me crazy. Obviously, some people were never meant to teach. You on the other hand, are an excellent teacher. I've subscribed and look forward to more tutorials like this one. You explain the step clearly, show how it's done, and under 30 minutes!!! YOU are AMAZING! Thank you!!!!

Thank you so much. So lovely to hear. ❤️ I was just making a quick tutorial as people kept asking about this hack and needing to see it in video form. I had no idea people would like my video style so much 😂. It is hard to find a balance between over and under explaining but I am glad you liked it. I wasn't planning on making more but I decided to try and do another tutorial for my latest sew and it's on the way. Just have to do the voice overs. I hope you like the new one too 😊.

@@whatastitchup.creations I'm sure it will be wonderful! Maybe you could also do a tutorial on the best way to successfully install a recessed zipper. There are different ways, I just want to learn the most efficient way where it works perfect every time. I've been looking and have seen one video that is 1 hour 47 minutes, to install a zipper! Uuuugghhh! There's others that are just too much talking, not enough "showing", that I don't have the patience to watch. I already know how to install a recessed zipper, I'm just looking for a fool proof method that works for every bag without having to refer to a pattern. Whenever you have time, I for one would love a recessed zipper tutorial from you! Thx so much!

I loved this tutorial! It was straight to the point without any fluff. I also prefer to sew in metric (I am in Canada, but most people still sew in imperial).. I find it more precise. I just took a look at what the original H2O 2GO is supposed to look like and I much prefer your version of the bag. For your very first video, I think you did an excellent job! Keep it up. :)

Thank you for this great video. It is one of the best videos I have seen with the front and bottom hacks. I love how you didn't cut the curves until the front was completely sewn. And not adding the pull until the front panel is finished. Genius! Love Love this video. Please make more!

I second what was said. Not cutting the scallop edges until after front panel was complete was genius!. The simplified hardware blew my mind! I might need to redo my hardware shopping list. May I request that you shoot in landscape mode next time? I subbed also. Thank you!

Just followed your video tutorial completely to sew my H20 2G0. You make it so easily. I live in Australia and I also have a RU-vid Channel to explain in French (my mother tongue) how to follow an English pattern for bags making. I really enjoyed yours and I thank you for the work you have done for this video. It's really well explained. 💕

Great demonstration. This is my preferred style of the H2O so always good to see someone else’s slight differences. I always sew the entire bottom seam then do the square cuts from the seam, instead of drawing the seam and cutting first. But your way would give me straighter seams with the drawn line! I am also glad to learn how to do the sewn in strap too. Thanks!
@whatastitchup.creations
@whatastitchup.creations 2 года назад
I actually considered doing your way first but decided by cutting first I could have the back stitch at the beginning and end which holds the bottom seam together when you're pulling open the boxed corners. I hate when the seam starts to undo.

Such a GREAT tutorial! I love your pace and what you decided to show on-camera... I actually have issues with the tutorials that we literally get to sit and watch them sew in-real-time or speak at an unusually slow pace. Especially with hack tutorials!!! Like, if we made it to this point, you don't need to teach me how to use my sewing machine..? I definitely subscribed because I didn't have to rage quit 😆😆

Haha thank you. I sort of feel the same way. I know how to sew on my machine and often just want the instructions or steps shown to see how it comes together and if I am interested in trying it. Especially if it's a hack or the original instructions are a bit vague. Glad you didn't rage quit 😊
