Hey Daniel, first your living the dream traveling with your amazing girlfriend, and I don’t know if you remember me, I’m Annabella, but you called me bells but I was one of your patients when you were a dentist. I was the teen girl, that whenever I had to get a filing, etc, you would always distract me with taking about marvel, and the new movies, and making me laugh. It helped a lot, and your are my favorite dentist ever! I remember coming in a month ago and they told me you quit. I was so sad, but they told me you became a RU-vidr and travel the world. We were there last summer in 2022. We have 2 teenagers that are tech and screen addicted but we caught them sitting in the cabin's balcony, staring out into Halong Bay for a good 10 min straight without saying a word, just taking in the beauty. The view from our dining room seeing Halong Bay was no less inspiring. We were hesitant with the cost at first (there were 4 of us for 2 cabins) but within 1 hour, we felt the money was well worth it. The cabin was luxurious and the view from our cabin, our cruise ship, beat many many expensive hotels. The seafood food alone for each meal was easily worth $40-$60 per person here in the US and our cruise ship crew was so nice and friendly, and funny too. It's funny but we felt the same as you, we wish we had signed up for a 3-day 2-night cruise.

We visited Ha Long Bay in October 2022. Great time to visit Vietnam with lower temperatures and humidity. This is a great excursion from Hanoi to get out in nature and away from the city for a couple of days. We visited a floating fishing village on the 2nd day and it was very quiet and beautiful. Don’t miss this part of Vietnam. It’s well worth the time and money.

We are planning this for next year for my wife’s special b/day, can’t wait, looks amazing, we toured Cambodia/ Vietnam in 2019 but didn’t get beyond Hoi An as it’s so beautiful, but we also found Vietnam very humid which is the part we underestimated, so we need to finish our tour, this includes SaPa, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay. The most uncomfortable in northern Vietnam is the humidity, often 85-90% and sometimes is 100%

The best time to visit Ha Long is Jan, Feb, March and early April. The weather is very nice, around 15 to 24 degree. Avoid May to August because there are many Vietnamese people will enjoy their Holiday at this time

Definitely book the 2 night experience next time. I saw "Sun Kissed Bucket List" used Indochina Junk for their cruise and it looks like an amazing experience. Indochina Junk has their own island so you're away from the crowds and noise. The other cruise that people seem to like is Stella of the Seas.

Great video. I think it's important to tell people that because you're in Vietnam you don't have to convince yourself that $320 is a good deal! There are several other cruises with similar amenities (bamboo boat ride, kayaking, all food, tai chi class, squid fishing, balcony room, etc included) for $100-125 per person.

Haaa. I'm going for the whole month of April! I don't have experience with the cruises but I found better prices at "Get My Guide". There is a two-day cruise for $125./person in mid Feb.

The best time to visit Ha Long bay is Autumn and Winter to avoid the heat trap of the bay due to too many islands.

We didn’t have any issues at all. We only used it in Halong bay and some rural areas. No issues at the airport either. Best of luck

Hi, our cabin was on the first floor. Second floor was more expensive and from what we saw, it doesn’t make that much of a difference. We wouldn’t change rooms if we could go back. Only thing we’d change is doing the two night excursion rather than one night.

They pick us up pretty early in the morning, around 8 since it takes a few hours to drive to Ha Long Bay. Minute 2:33 has the itinerary. You can reference this for the future. Hope it helps.

⁠@@user-yw4bs4lk9kwe stayed near old quarter. I’d say that’s a good spot. You can always email them to see exactly where they’ll Pick you up so you can search for accommodations prior to landing. I’m pretty sure they have a designated pick up spot. At least for us, we weren’t given the option of a hotel pick up. Hope this helps! Cheers

Hey we´re going to visit Vietnam in 2 weeks and I was wondering how they are handling the drones. I´ve read online that theoretically you need a permission from the ministry of defense but in realitiy everyone seems to be chill about it. Did you have any trouble with that?

That’s a really tough question. I think you’re the only one that can answer that question. Our opinion is that yes, it’s worth it. We don’t know your style of travel so it’s difficult to answer it.

While I'm sure Ha Long/Lan Ha can be a great experience for some, considering my experience and other reviewers', it's definitely a toss-up. I did a 3D/2N in November, 2022 and was completely UNDERwhelmed. Cost: $490 single, $770 couple (USD) First, probably due to oppressive afternoon heat, the 17 or 18 vessels that accompanied us everywhere do activities like kayaking, beach, village visits at the same time in the early morning. For us, it was like rush hour on a Los Angeles freeway. Secondly, "cruise" is a complete misnomer! The boats are only underway when picking up or letting off passengers. I'd estimate we were actually "cruising" for less than 30 minutes during the entire 3D/2N "voyage." With no breeze over the bow, one is pretty much restricted to air conditioned spaces. In short, everyone should see Ha Long (Lan Ha is optional. They're identical.), but take a day cruise.

You need to have immediate access to at least $10,000 usd or have health/accident insurance that will cover you in Vietnam. That is; insurance that can be immediately paid. If you are in an accident and need hospitalization or emergency care, the hospital will not do much more than receive you until payment is made. Mandatory Vietnamese driver license and moto insurance if you plan to drive a moto. Typhoid/hepatitis vaccines. Hang on to your money, camera and phone or chain it to yourself! Buy tissues as there are almost always none in restrooms. Need a small bottle of alcohol for mosquito bites. Trust no one!!! This is an extremely dangeous country to travel in. Many tourists are ill from diarrhea after 2 days lasting up to 2 weeks. This is a hot, dirty, dusty, noisy and dangerous country. Not what you see in the glamourized videos. Lived here 21 years. FYI.
