@@RUTHLESSambition5 Actually they don't have to bully him into playing. If he doesn't show up this year, he doesn't accrue a season. He is out millions of dollars in fines, and will come back next season with that same $15 million dollar contract and be 31yrs old. The team knows this. He should've held out last year. He knew he signed a bargain contract with Philly. This is why veteran players on their 2nd contracts ask for a raise 2 years out. You lose all leverage on that least season, especially when you hit 30.
Along with every other organization. Trades like these have happened a hundred times. You should change your diet if your memory is this poor! Same exact type of trade just happened with Judon yesterday. I suppose the Jets were responsible for that as well.
Teams don’t trade for players unless they already agreed to terms but he probably backed out once the trade went thru but he still under contract that’s all that matters
This is a bad look!! You get the man for a 3rd round pick. Yall supposed to pay him his 💰!! This is why the jets are doomed instead of preparing for the season we get distractions from the jets front office
They found a way to blame rodgers for hassan contract as if he hires, fires and signs checks .. and rodgers took less money to get players , damm the hate for this guy is just unreal
He can't. Jets keep the rights for another year he sits. But he could always fake an injury. But with his age, he most likely wouldn't get the big money he's looking for
He sits a season he still will accrue fines that add up to over $10 million. He loses an accrued season, and he comes back next year in NY at age 31 with the same contract again. Problem is he is NOT a cornerstone player. They can play without him on the field. He has also never played for them. It is a lose-lose situation for him.
No, he can't. His existing contract would just roll over to next year. So he will get fined millions of dollars and just have to play for the Jets next year on the same contract.
17:00 I'm sorry Acho. You lost me there. Haason Reddick is not the 2nd most important player on the Jets roster. He is not even the top-3 on defense. Quinnen Williams is a 2x All-Pro and is a top-3 DT in the league, and is 26yrs old. Without Williams, the defensive line crumbles. Saleh rotates his pass rushers in every series to keep them fresh. Reddick will not be playing more than 60% of the defensive snaps this season. That is a guarantee! Sauce Gardner, Jermaine Johnson, MCII, CJ Mosley are all above Reddick when it comes to who are the top-players on defense for the Jets. Reddick is a luxury, and the way they are standing firm on not renegotiating his contract, means that they are more than fine to let him sit out until he decides to show up and play. Remember, if he sits out, he doesn't accrue a season and at 31 will come back next season with millions lost in fines, and still getting that same 15 million. The players that these guys brought up in the 49'ers like Deebo and Bosa are no comparison to Reddick. They are CORNERSTONE players, and without them, the team can't play nowhere near to the level as they usually play. Remember, he has NEVER played for the Jets, so the loss of his impact on the team can't even be calculated like those other stars. This is why the team is not gonna budge. Reddick should go ask La'veon Bell how much he regretted holding out for an entire season.
Btw, comparing Reddick holding out to Chris Jones is apples to oranges. Chris Jones is the best DT in the entire league. Chris Jones is a cornerstone player for the team. He practically won them that SB with his play. Without CJ that Kansas City defense folds faster than a cheap suit. The Jets owe no allegiances to Haason Reddick. He has no history with them, he has never played with them even in practice. He is a complete unknown to a team that field a top-3 defense already. They hold all the leverage.
I love how James Jones thinks the Jets are smart when dealing with Aaron Rodgers but, they're not smart when dealing with Haason Reddick. Hey James Jones! SAME team, SAME ownership, and the SAME thought process.
I mean its really not that big of a deal, Jets made a gamble on getting a 1 year mercenary playing for a contract. Reddicks only leverage is that talking heads like these dummies will keep talking about it and making the Jets look bad
@yungjackpot4329 Huff was a 3rd down LB and Franklin-Myers was not some all-pro d-linemen. Our #1 draft pick from last year can fill Huff's role and we got Kinlaw from SF to fill Myers role. From all accounts from training camp and these joint practices, the Jets defense looks just as dominant as they've always been. Not to mention they have a QB that can actually convert a 3rd down play and put points on the board. It's you guys who should be worried
I mean the eagles traded him instead of give him it. He's undersized and runs hot and cold. I wouldn't particularly want to pay him but they knew all this trading for him. I'm an eagles fan btw. He builds stats like parsons. Never when it actually matters
@@MrMancreatedgod what are you saying... he was why we beat the niners in the NFCCG. Reddick gave Purdy nightmares and then hit him so hard he was done. And he had a 19.5 sack season (including playoffs). I am an Eagles fan too but c'mon on man.
Bruh, Jets are not worrying about him playing past this year. They don't actually have to pay him. He can hold out and they keep holding his money. Then hit him with conduct detrimental to the team. this Guarantee disappear in smoke.
@@mikediao15 they traded a 3rd pick for a player who they know is on the last year of their contract and lookin for an extension. Thats just bad business .
@@Jussttiiinnn yeah and they offered him a deal which he refused to sign. Ain’t no team would be willing to give aging Hassan 90m for 3 years. He should have taken that 3 years 50m . They trying to win not catering to him. If he doesn’t go then they got other players. Defence is not really their weakness. He is a luxury player to them.
It feels like the Eagles have already won this trade, and the season hasn't even started! I want to chalk this up to Howie Roseman being a 12D chess player, but this is less that and more about the Jets front office being completely stupid.
If i am not mistaken i saw a report of him saying he was going to report to camp while talks were ongoing. Jets are just a poor organization both parties are to blame here.
this is a joke because if you research what happened they both agreed to discuss the contract after playing haason himself said he would do it so now to drop your word why should the jets do anything, they gave up a third rounder in 2 years there is nothing to lose lol
It’s pretty simple to me. The jets aren’t the ones that are gonna lose out here in this drama. Reddick is gonna lose a year in his prime without any money. It’s not gonna hurt the jets, they are still going to play football.
The Jets lose because it’s Rodgers last couple years and if they’re serious about winning they give him a new contract if not then they also wasted Aaron Rodgers money they gave him. They need to maximize Aaron Rodgers and make his contract worth it they can’t do that without maximizing their team
@@andrebillups4079 my point is the jets will still be a team way after reddick is dead. It’s his legacy if he wants to argue about money and be a holdout. The jets will suffer this year and move on.
It’s a bad look on the jets but the dude hasnt even suited up for a practice . It’s not like he doesn’t have a contract to uphold. I get he wants money and idk why the jets picked him up if they were gonna do this but still man , suit up and practice. there’s still a season ahead of you . He’s losing money by the day
Hey Schulz..wanna mention Jets said from onset he has to be at camp to discuss a deal.. wtf is up with this terrible reporting? Just put the facts on the table and stop trying to be an agents mouthpiece.
I say, so what. He's under contract for this year. They wanted to see him play a bit before they paid him a new contract. The JETS have a ton of defensive linemen, and while it would be great to have him there, defense hasn't been our problem.
Actually he has to play 67.5% of total defensive snaps and accrue 10 or more sacks for that to be a 2nd rounder. With the way Saleh rotates his rushers, there is no way he would've ever played that percentage of snaps, even if he never held out. Very likely if he sits out 3 games he will never reach the snap percentage
You can ask all you want for a new deal but you still have a year left on your original contract not only that you are getting fined for not reporting to camp so you are losing money. The Eagles knew about this headache and was willing to get rid of it.
@@michaelolmedo6764 Because those are his options you laid out. If the Jets aren’t trading him and you say he’s not stepping on the field for the jets… So if he’s not gonna play might as well retire instead of getting fined millions
We have to ask why is Reddick potentially going to his 5th team since 2019? Remember Howie had him and Huff on the roster at the same time. Philly had the cap space, and even with the trade Philly didn’t get any 2024 cap relief. On top of that they traded him for peanuts! A 2026 conditional 3rd for a 2024 player is wild. There’s some other underlying issue.
Dude why is everyone blaming the jets? Bro literally knew the deal when they met with him. They made it clear there would be no contract rework or extension until after this season, and he agreed. They literally told the man. Now he’s going back to the same bs narrative he had with the eagles
He didn't agree lol, that's the same thing the Eagles said to him 16:55 and it's why He req permission to seek a trade. I'm sorry he's going thru all this, I wish the Eagles paid him but I was at least happy he would get his money from someone else...now I see the Jets being the Jets lol.
@@Nvs76 I think you should watch his press conference from April 1st before you shoot your 'opinion' .. because that's what it is. An opinion. If you want fact, watch the press conference. The one where he said all he wanted to do was get in the building and meet his teammates and get to work. And that the contract would get done when it got done. But go ahead and keep sh*tting on the Jets.. cause based on history, they deserve it.
@@saintlex32 lol are you serious? I saw the press conference and it was in no way inconsistent with wanting a new contract- he just said he was hoping agent would handle it and he wanted to get in the building. I'm sure he was hoping that was true but that does not amount to a promise that he is going to play on his current deal at all.
jets would’ve paid him had he showed up to camp, and as wild as it may sound, he’s closer to a luxury rather than a necessity. one of the few things the jets do well is develop pass rushers. i do think they need reddick to make a legit run but they’ll be solid without him (assuming they pick up a fa edge like yannick). jd hardly ever gets fleeced and pays players which i assume is why he hasn’t extended him yet. we also have to pay michael carter soon, maybe dj reed, jj, that’s not even counting sauce, garrett and breece. this is mad annoying but as a jets fan there’s always something. hopefully it all gets worked out before week 1.
@@matthewwilliams4168 Jermaine Johnson, WMD, Thomas, Kinlaw, Clemons, etc. Saleh has always had a heavy rotation of players to pass rush. It's been working since he has taken over the team. The biggest loss is Huff, he was the only player to reach 10 sacks on the team. Still though it is next man up.
They saying "we already knew he wanted a new contract" yeah yall we knew that and the Jets have said PUBLICALLY....AGAIN PUBLICALLY since we traded for him we werent negotiating and new deals until he gets on the field lmaoo so all that WE KNEW stuff is irrelevant 😂
Acho do your research you said at 7:00 “Myles Garrett and Hasson Reddick, only players in the NFL, 4 consecutive seasons with 10 plus sacks” verbatim. That was FALSE. TJ watt from 2018-2021 had 13.0,14.5,15 and 22.5 sacks. Stop acting like Myles Garrett is the best because he not and stop acting like TJ Watt is irrelevant. these “analyst” are a joke.
@@OffFirstInstinctTVyour both not wrong the guy on the show did say only ones in 4 consecutive seasons but context clues does tell us he was implying and meant 2020,21,22,23 so I don’t believe it was to dismiss tj more of he should’ve said last 4 seasons instead and the wording was bad
I think he thought ppl would know he wasn’t talking about career achievement he was talking about current ly because now is what he’s talking about you saying tj watt shows your bias because you left out Khalil Mack
I heard Eagles Players were upset with Reddick freelancing all last year and he threatened to hold out last year ?!?!? Makes sense the Eagles had issues?!?!
Haason has a fair contract in place already that pays him at or near his true market value. He is delusional to think that he is worth so much more than $17M per year.
could it be that reddick backed out of the deal he agreed to? joe douglas doesn’t mess around . reddick will ride the pine . jets d will be fine . he is an elite player but that defense is good without him
Not one of these clowns were in the room, on the phone when the Jets and Reddick talked!!! Maybe before running your mouths like you know what you’re talking about, try researching what happened and what Reddick said at his press conference, might actually learn something!
He holds out all season. He is fined more than $10 million. He also loses an accrued year, which means that he comes back next season at $15 million at age 31. Older players holding out NEVER works out well.
Haason just has to show up and he didn’t really play that well against the Tampa Bay. Trade him or pay him . This also why the Jets have to be better with in the front office.
The problems behind this one side take all the reporters are taking is he was told we can renegotiate during the season and he would be at the very least elevated from his current one. He agreed which is why the Jets went through with the trade. Which no one is taking about… so he went back on his word. But I still like the defense without him.
This show is terrible. Can’t believe they’re having a 30 minute discussion about Justin Fields in a preseason game. He didn’t have 2 fumbles, there was problems with the center exchange. Remember their view of Angel Reese, who has broken records since they last bashed her. Acho chases clicks. Shady stated Angel Reese isn’t that good. SMH. Can you guys publicly state that you were wrong?
Howie Roseman should pull off another 4D-chess move by offering the Jets a conditional 5th-round pick, which could escalate to a 4th based on Haason Reddick's playing time and production. Then, pay Reddick the big money he's seeking to fuel a championship run🏆
As a Jets fan, I understand both sides. My thing is, Haason stated verbally that he would attend OTA's and pre-season with the Jets then backed out. He has been a no show all season and is getting fined daily. That is the issue I have with this. From what it sounds like, the Jets told him to come display your talent on the field then we'll give you the bag. This is unfortunate. Not sure who to blame if I'm honest.
It's a bit of both, but it mainly falls on Reddick. Once you are traded, your old contract holds no allegiance to the new team. Plus he has not even played or practiced with the team, so they don't even know what they are missing. He is a luxury for them. If he sits out the season he loses over 10 million in fines and an accrued season, so he comes back at 31 for the same 15 million. Plus he is NOT a cornerstone player. He is nowhere near Quinnen or Sauce or Wilson or Rodgers, so the team won't cave to his demands. He is maybe around 4-7 on defense when it comes to importance on the team.
Hassan is not that guy 😂 if he was THAT GUY the other teams he’s been on wouldn’t have let him walk 😂 you don’t see Bosa, Crosby, Micah or TJ Watt just walk
Douglas told Hassan they wasn't gonna offer him a contract this season. They wanted to wait until next season to see how he plays and offer him a contract when this current contract ends. This wasn't a surprise to him
No the jets are the clowns you don't give up draft capital and not sign the guy without a contract knowing he wants a contract... players don't agree to trades unless they have a no trade clause. The teams made the deal for an unhappy player and he jets are stupid for making the trade knowing this
@@Jtjayt SO? What is Reddick going to do? If he sits out he is still under contract and other teams don't want a rusty player. The JETS have hom for one year, and that is likely ALL they want him for. When Wil MacDonald last years 1st rounder matures, they don't want him. Too Bad. he signed a contract. He knew what he said. Be cranky, but he loses if he doesn't play
They did. From my understanding they agreed to make final year of his deal fully guaranteed and they would have ongoing talks of a new contract when he reported to camp and/or give him a new deal after the season.
3 former players talking about a player wanting $$ and a Dolphin fan who hates the Jets…very unbiased view. 🙄. How bout he said he would play out contract and in press conference said he would play for Jets. Do your homework.
Seriously! Can't believe Acho said that Reddick was the 2nd best player on the team! Like are you kidding me? He is arguably not even top-5 on the defense when it comes to importance!
This is on both parties. But can also be a good thing. We wanted a team/owner to finally put a pin in these "player empowerment" movement. They got no problem fining him if he wants to sit out. And he sits out,, they still owe his rights for next season. He will be fined everyday and every game... So imagine if the Jets dont give in
