Thank you! For this video I used the Boss RC-30 seen in the first clip 0:00. It has a handy dandy XLR input with Phantom Power! 😲 There are other pedals that have XLR inputs (the new Line 6 DL4 MKii has one, JHS' Color Box etc.). I've tried an XLR-Line adapter before and it works, though I feel it's probably not the best way. (Can anyone confirm if that would be the case with using that adapter??) Radial Effects makes a variety of solid reamper units as well if you want to go that route. Hope that helps! 🤙
@@stephenbeyer i couldn't believe you had just 99! i really loved what you do in the video and also the result of the child's voice experimentation was very board of canada -esque haha
@@bepelias Wow, thank you so much! That’s kind of you. I was happy with the results too and am excited to share more! 🤗 I’ve only listened to a bit of Boards of Canada but I know I listen to a lot of similar artists. I’ll have to check them out more. Any album of theirs that you recommend?
i'm so glad that I got recommended this video. you definitely sold me on the habit pedal and even got me looking into the other chase bliss selection. you have a wonderful family and i have to say, how was your day darn near made me cry it is so pretty. great vid!
Since the earliest days of electronic music, there has been a temptation to use what the electronics coughed up, when "Hey! Is this thing on?" gets to become the music. Until you have a measure of control over what comes out, it's music but it's not composing. There's going to be a lot of that kind of music around Habit. I think it has huge potential. The weirder you let it go, the better it will be IMHO
@@stephenbeyerNo, not my meaning at all, though, necessarily the controls are compressed into a very small space. I meant that instead of having a preconceived musical idea, or improvising with the conventions of melody and harmony, tech is inclined to present exciting things that surprise and inspire us and we are caught up in that, perhaps applying little musical direction beyond collaging sounds. I believe the Habit will do that a lot and it will require a considerable self discipline and a competence in the use of the pedal to steer these ideas towards an intended goal rather than what Habit produces by the myriad coincidences it will summon up from interleaving algorithms.
Bro I’m happy i watched this!! Blew my mind, that how is your day clip should be used in every intro and sparsely with random music tracks as a sorta watermark/ trademark… you shoulda incorporated the modulated didgeridoo and “topatoes” lol 😊😊😊😊🤙🏿
It's funny, you're not the first one to compare some of my music to Boards of Canada 🍁. I haven't listened to them a ton, but I'll have to do so more fully. Do you recommend any album in particular?
You shouldn’t play your didgeridoo right into the mic like that, you should play it on the other side of a really good acoustically treated room. Cool video tho! I really love these crystalline sounding effects.
Good tip, thanks for the suggestion! If it’s not obvious, I’m a novice at the didgeridoo (I just recently got it). It’s fun though! Thanks for watching! 🤗
