Banging episode in which I discuss the intellect of hackers. Patreon: / harstem My second youtube channel: / @harstemcasts Twitter: / harstemsc2 Twitch: / harstem Instagram : / harstemsc #harstem #SC2 #StarCraft2
I would love to see Harstem getting qued against this lag hacker and actually playing it out while flaming him 2 hours long that would be peak content.
@@morgwai667 it took 3 seconds and i was mildly curious, because that guy has been leaving comments almost identical to that one for months now. sometimes its wrrg, sometimes its wrr, sometimes its wrg, so it’s pretty consistently ‘wrg’-adjacent
That lag hacker story is kind of sad actually. Not hard to imagine the kind of person who does that. Hope he finds something better to spend time doing in his life
Also thanks for all the content/entertainment Harstem. You're the most creative SC2 pro/content creator in my opinion, and I'm rooting for your success in 2024 tournaments. Happy New Years!
Sir Harstem, English does indeed have a verb for "traveling or going in a boat" or "transport in a boat in a specified direction": "to boat". Thank you.
And people who work and often live in boats are called boaters. There’s a very famous anime called “Boater moon”, but it’s about girls with magical powers playing dress up, not about boating the seas.
little does the zerg player know that while he's being double oracle harassed, one of the most painful experiences that can happen to an early game zerg, Harstem is absolutely killing "Build me up buttercup"
If it's a sailing boat, you sail it. If you're the captain of a ship, you skipper it, and if you're the helmsman, you steer or helm it, but otherwise, there's no general term. Thanks Google. 😂
Helming is definitely the term fue directly controlling a large vessel. There's extra verbs because the helmsman in a large vessel doesn't make all the decisions at least in near to land situations. That is going to be the captain or more likely a pilot, who pilots it by calling out instructions.
in correct about the boats @harstem "The conn, also spelled con, cun, conne, cond, conde, and cund, is the status of being in control of a ship's movements while at sea"
I've never heard anyone use conning or coxing. These seem like terms that only boating enthusiasts would know and probably not the best words to learn for someone who uses English as a second language and wants to appeal to wide audience
@@xitaris5981 I mean, there is a conning tower, so you could con (conn?) a boat, but I would colloquially interpret that as manning the lookout, not actually driving the boat. But, honestly, there is rarely 1 person you can say to be driving the boat over a certain size.
24:29 on large ships they still say "steaming" for instance "the plan is to steam down to Madeira before making for Gibraltar". But equally or even moreso they say "sailing". I'm not sure about smaller motor yachts/boats but my inclination is that they would say "sail". I don't think a seagoing vessel is generally described as being "driven". Edit: What is the Dutch word?
That's a common suggestion throughout this comment section, but it just has too many aviation connotations. I haven't heard a better one, tho, so it'll have to do, as you can, certainly, pilot any form or size of craft; it's just like the most vague possible term.
@@TriangleChloros as toss has not been able to win in pro play for a while I’d say it’s not imba at high level play but I think it’s the easiest a move army for the game at lower levels hence my easy mode comment. Also I do suck so let’s make that clear right away.
Harstem, why you never rebuild your oracles? If you randomly lose 2 Stalkers, or whatever - an Immortal, because of missrally - you just build more and it's a thing forgotten 2 minutes later But when you lose Oracles you often say you lack them later... you have an idle Stargate! it! Why not have 2 Stalkers less and 1 Oracle more? I almost want to make it a BGWSS (Beating Grandmasters With *Smart* Stuff) request - every time an Oracle dies, rebuild it
That last game was rough for sure, but just stalkers only cut it for so long. Roach ling with queen support is a dirt cheap army so you can trade like that all day even if you don't quite break even. Dude was missing injects hard from the hurass so queens had plenty of energy. Even getting one more good click on that base that almost died the whole game would have cut his larva significantly. It was at the front with all his queens so that was the one always getting injects too.
A Bloody Mary Beating GrandMasters with Stupid Stuff. If you want to build a unit, you must build multiple of them. Perhaps 13 is too many, but imagine having to build 7 of something before winning. Would be chaos to watch Harstem try to count how many Immortals/oracles he built throughout the match.
so I'm watching after a long absence and the first thing I thought was "Harstem has shoulders" and then he flexed his guns and I'm like 'good for you get those gainz'
BGMWSS challenge request: make both a robo and a stargate and never let either be idle the whole match (constant production). If you think that's too easy, limit yourself to only as many warpgates as you have robos and stargates.
hey harstem, quick and genuine question: is there a specific reason why you didn't kill his base in game 3? is it that you don't want to take "free hits" from his army for killing his base? loving the content as always!
Wait, wait. Maybe I don't understand what "styling on your opponent just to make them look bad" means, but...... isn't that what Harstem does ALL THE TIME???? Doth mine ears deceive me? What happened to "the cheesiest player in the galaxy????"
I also don't understand why Harstem just didn't finish of that low hp 4th hatchery while he was trading. I think that's also a mistake but maybe not as bad as sending in those oracles.
I'm pretty sure the hackers get the satisfaction out of the hacking, not by bragging about their rank or status. The rank is just proof that the hack works, it doesn't really matter to them in the end.
That might be the case since that is pretty common as far as hackers go. Rank, WIn/Loss Ratio, or KDA depending on what a game measures is a demonstration of their services working. Which in turn allows them to get more business.
Why do you build me up (Build me up) Buttercup, baby Just to let me down? (Let me down) And mess me around And then, worst of all (Worst of all) You never call, baby When you say you will (Say you will) But I love you still I need you (I need you) More than anyone, darling You know that I have from the start So build me up (Build me up) Buttercup, don't break my heart
