+MoonPhantom Dont quote me on it but I heard that he loves the character so much that he goes out of his way to make sure that he is the only one who voices him, even if that means he doesnt get paid much.
Sasuke Uchiha Not to mention James Howard Woods played as Alexander Lex Joseph Luthor AKA Lex Luthor in the new Justice League Action animated series as well Falcon in Stuart Little 2
Maybe, but it is always heartening to see actors committed to a character for some personal preference. Before basking in the glory of Doctor House, Hugh Laurie appeared in every single Stuart Little-related production (movies, direct-to-DVD sequel AND TV series). Why? I'll say he felt a connection...
yea well zeus was definitely not a family man, hades was the chillest of his siblings, and he was married to persephone so yea, disney is no where near accurate
Zajin13 True, but I believe the term "Big Three" was coined in the Percy Jackson franchise and given that OP has a Percabeth icon, I think asking him/her if they were a PJ fan is a fair question.
Well technically Hades thinks Jafar is a jerk so they aren't friends so I don't think that Hades would befriend Scar he might befriend Captain Hook though.
@@chadpeterson5698 Perhaps, Hook just wanted to save Wendy, her brothers, Jane, and the other children from Peter Pan. Hades was pissed since he was being framed by Walt Disney as the Gadriel(Satan see Book of Enoch) of the Greek Mythology. For Jafar ............
Just like princess Luna from the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic series. She got no respect after so long and became her own personal hero, Nightmare Moon.
@@jazzykingjack2846 In the media sometimes they make the wrong character the so called villain and the other the so called hero. In the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic series, Nightmare Moon is said to be a villain, but when you think about her true actions she's nothing but Luna's biggest hero. For she stands up for the love of Luna's beautiful night and only wants to help the other ponies see the true beauty of the night as well. While her sister became too busy to show Luna any love or affection. Even going as far as not giving Luna just an extra hour or two for the ponies to actually see Luna's beautiful night before they went to sleep. When it comes to disney, my first thought of true heroes and villains are King Triton and Ursula from the little man. Ursula only wants to help those who are going through a tough time, like Ariel. She actually helped her escape from King Triton. While King Triton is just never in a listening mood.
Oh my Zeus yes! My favorite episode (so far I haven't seen them all yet) is Hercules and The Comedy of Arrows. I'm currently binge watching the show but I went back and watched the movie.
*Hades Exists.* *Disney:* You're gonna be a villain. *Hades from Mythology:* Sorry what? My brothers were serial rapists on the regular meanwhile the wife I was given I treated with respect and dignity and you make me the bad guy?
Disney: because your wife is also biologically your niece and the first of your younger brother's illegitimate children. Hades from myth: But he said it was OK! Also demeter doesn't seem to mind Disney: listen bud, I don't make the rules, God of the dead = discount Satan Hades from myth: well ain't that a massive load of bull crap.
@@Outlaw7263 well tbh wasn't their whole romace some sort of collateral damage? I mean Hades was struck by a love arrow that Demeter deflected because it was going to hit her daughter...all by Zeus schemes if i recall correctly also wasn't Thanatos the God of the dead? I mean the underworld is the place where the dead go it's like some sort of caretaker of the place maybe? .
@@ul8532 I am not sure about the love arrow part, but that is pretty much the story between Persephone and Hades. Hades falls in love with Persephone, Zeus allows it and suggest kidnapping her, and boom the story plays out. You are right about Thanatos being god of death itself, so that makes hades god of the underworld and god of wealth.
@@LordDaret as far as I know Demeter was the controlling mother archetype (with good reasons given the circumstances) and Zeus wanted Persephone to know love and have freedom(it's Zeus we know that coming from him it's no good) so he told Eros (or commonly know as cupid) to shoot a love arrow to her, meantime it was know that Hades was up in the love market (if you know what I mean), at same time happened all the ordeal with Demeter deflecting the arrow hitting Hades instead at the same time he looked at Persephone aaand we know the rest as far as i'm aware.
Talking abt Disney getting things wrong. Why, in the movie he releases the Titans when literally he and his brothers destroyed Kronos and the other titans and put them in tartarus. Why tf would he release them? Disney's weird. (Plz correct me if I'm wrong. I'm wrong a lot )
Often, when I ask people what they thought of the Hercules television series, they burn it with hellfire. Well, screw them, because James Woods makes Hades such a damn awesome villain, able to be evil while being ridiculous at the same time.
...I think Hades is my favorite Disney character EVER. "But it's okay for your little brother, isn't it?" Wow. Inaccurate yes, but nice one. I can't help but think James Woods improvised some of this himself? xD Also, ... PUPPY CERBERUS.
joe ortiz Yeah, you can really tell he has a lot of fun with that character. =P He probably loved playing Hades so much to begin with and that's why he's stuck with the character wherever he appears.
I swear, if they ever make a Hercules live action remake, I’d love a prequel that goes over Hades’ life and how he got stuck with being in charge if the Underworld. That’d be amazing! 💙
Hades: "I'm not Bad, I just got the Short End of the Straw! Well that and the media keeps giving me a bad rep that I'm supposed to be evil & villainous just because I'm the Lord of the Dead & the Underworld, but I can assure you I an Not to be confused for some wannabe Satan, Oye I can't stand that guy, he gives us Death Gods a Bad- well Worse Reputation than we all ready have.
@@joeysopinion4463 not by chance,Poséidon cheater so Zeus would get the Olympus and when hades found out Poséidon told hades Zeus would die in all other places than the Olympus so hades accepted the underworld
True Greek Mythology: Hades: Kidnapped his wife, but she fell in love with him and he treats people with respect. Zeus: Cheats on his wife Hera and has kids with other people. Also he ate one of his other wives because her child was going to be more powerful than Zeus. Disney: What? Bish I cannot comprehend that
1. it is true hades is the true lord 2. the fact that James Woods was just like "yeah i'll keep voicing the character in your tv animated show" just brings me so much joy 3. love that the show totally retconned that hades was unaware that hercules was alive this entire time 4. MY GOD THIS COMPILATION WAS SO TIGHT
This takes place BEFORE the events of the movie, or rather it takes place between Hercules became a student to Phil and...well..the last parts of the song he preformed just minutes later. The only things that does not take place before or between the movie (heck I don't even know when it's taking place) is the scenes from House Of Mouse.
That doesn't really make sense. I don't think the episodes from Hercules: The Animated Series has any affiliation to the time frames in the movie because Hercules knew Zeus was his father before he started training to be a hero. If that's the case, he wouldn't have been confused when Hades was impersonating Zeus. The animated series was just randomly put in there with no specifications.
Actually yes Hades is the true ruler of Olympus because he was kronos's first child so technically he would be the rightful heir to the throne. Plus not to mention what the hell is Zeus going to do when the end of the world happens and every single human dies the gods themselves need prayers and worshipers in order to live when the heat death of the universe happens that means all of existence will become Hades's domain.
fun fact, while in the show hades thinks the underworld is a poor man's domain, in mythology he has domain over many precious metals and resorurses as he is underground
It makes sense though. Hades is god compared to Jafar who was only Sultan for a day before being stopped and powerscale wise he don't got nothing on Hades.
@@warbringergames7885 that genie had more powers than the entire cast of the hercules film. Being able to warp reality like it was nothing. The only way they could defeat him in the dvd sequel is by destroying his lamp while hades was able to get hurt by physical damage.
I like how Jafar tries to be like; “I’m the strongest sorcerer!” And Hades is like; Just stop it….who says that out loud? I mean I’m a god, and I’m not like “I’m a god!”
Its true not only is he the god of the underworld/death he is also the god of minerals and stones aka diamonds and other precious minerals like iron and copper
I like how Hades still sorta does his job, despite not liking it very much in Disney's version. If hes not planning to kill his brother and nephew, then hes probably doing his job.
The segments with Hades and Jafar had me legitimately dying. 😂 Although Scar from The Lion King is my favorite Disney villain, Hades comes in a _very_ close second.
Poseidon, hades, and Zeus drew sticks for it. Poseidon cheated so Zeus would get Olympus when hades found out he was mad but Poseidon told hades that Olympus was the only place Zeus would survive and would be destroyed in the other ones. So hades turned a blind eye because he agreed with Poseidon....hades is actually a pretty chill dude lol
@@teenybunny4939 and besides, all will eventually fall under his rule when your time comes. He does rule the afterlife and all the wealth under the worlds after all.
True, but at least they remembered that there ARE brothers. The film focuses so much on Zeus and Hades, but only the animated series showed one episode that confirmed Poseidon ALSO being Hades brother.
"How about I rule the Cosmos first and then I take it! Priorities Jafar! Okay, eyes on the price babe!" Hilarious! Am I the only one who sees Hades as Marilyn Manson?
Can you honestly blame Hera her husband was constantly cheating on her even though she should have punished him instead of the innocent women but the way it was at the time not possible and he had many illegitimate children she was the goddess of marriage.
Having the least bad stories, because he has the least amount of stories makes you, by default, not the worst god. People say he kidnapped his wife, but... this was ancient greece. Its what they did back then. We dont blame the caveman who bashes someone on the head and drag her into the cave, cartoonishly.
