The point of Mario killing Toads as Brick Blocks is actually a misconception. The only Brick Blocks that Toads were transformed into were ones that contained power-ups, not the breakable ones. There's something about Toads being freed from the block and giving you an award for such, but I'm not sure if that's 100% correct. Either way, no Toads were murdered.

I like to see an animal trio. Dog hunt Duo, Yoshi and Diddy Kong, an unusual trio like R.O.B, Wii Fit Trainer and Ness or a Pokemon trio.

Gotta give you props for that call back to the Mario Bros guidebook, that part about the blocks was deadset accurate, which now that I think about it... I have destroyed a lot of them. I'm a monster!
No Hades, that's not how Mario blocks work... According to the original manual (the same place we get the "transformed into blocks" idea from in the first place), when Mario hits a block that was formerly a person, said person helps by giving Mario coins or powerups. Fun Fact: blocks with items like that DO NOT BREAK in SMB1 or Lost Levels under any conditions! And as those are the ONLY games with the transformation aspect active, even later powerups that DO destroy such blocks are not claiming any innocent lives! Or... wait, did you already _know_ all that, and just told Pit a half-truth? That's... actually rather devious of you!
FUN FACT for those unaware: In the original japanese, Dark Pit is called Black Pit. And as a result, he has a different Nickname too instead of Pittoo. In japanese, Dark Pit's nickname is "Blappi"
