I'm a brit living in the states,I use a FX Streamline in .22,with it been a FX it shoots JSB pellets well with the JSB Exact jumbo diabolo 15.89gr the best in my rifle,so with the Hades been same weight I wasn't suprized they shot as well. For me any accurate pellet makes the best hunting pellet,so any expansion is a bonus. Overall the JSB Hades gets a thumbs up. I've also used predator poly mags which work well but lose accuracy past 35 yards,Hades pellets stay accurate over longer distance in my FX Streamline.

They are awesome. They open up like mechanical broadheads. I was lucky enough to get my first tin from Pavel at Shot Show this year and that weekend I got back home I did squirrel duty. I've taken multiple prairie dogs from 20-60yds. They are a great hunting pellet. On headshots the quarry just stops all movement, not one twitch.

Tried them this evening for the first time, I had to see what all the hype was about! Amazingly accurate and consistent through my HW100S .22 I think it's a perfect head size for Hw100 barrels in .22 as they're advertised as 5.5mm The tightly choked HW barrels do prefer a smaller head size so these are just perfect.

Love them ! Based on a previous video you made, I decided to try the Hades. .22 for my Remington Express XP. They are now my go-to pellet. Used for both plinking and rat pest control. 👍

Well, I took your advice and tried some Hades, here's what I found. First, a Walther Rotex RM8, I usually use the Air Arms Diablo Field in this gun, however, I found the Hades did a little better on vermin control (as in no follow up shot needed). Accuracy too was on par with the AA's. The other gun, an SMK SYN XS78 Tactical was a totally different animal. This gun hates the Hades with a vengeance, making the target look like it had been hit with pepper shot, where as the AA DF's were a very tight grouping. Both tests over a 35 yard target and both guns sub 12's (RM8 @11.6, the XS78 @ 11.4). Both guns .22.

These have turned out to be my almost universal pellet in both .177 and .22 in all my guns. Really pleasantly surprised. Even my exceptionally fussy Theoben Fenman .22 shoot them better than anything I've tried before. No accuracy problems with these across the board. I've also performed a load of ballistic gel tests with them an compared against all manner of things they routinely do the most damage to the gel, especially in the first couple of inches which is ideal for small game.

Have just found your RU-vid channel. Very impressed with your breadth of knowledge AND your rifles! I have only this morning dispatched my first fairly large Oregon, USA rat with one Hades pellet with iron sights at 10 yards. Diana 34 was my weapon of choice and I, too, had excellent accuracy when sighting in. Glad to have found you, will be checking in from here forward!

Well thanks for that. After watching this I sent off and order a got a tin of the Hades today. At 40m & 50m they grouped just as well as the Metal-Mags I normally shoot out of my Octane Elite. Soup cans at 40m were interesting. The Metal-Mag pierced a hole in the front and then ripped out the back, the Hades smashed a gapping entry hole and left a much smaller exit... so I think both will kill rabbits but the Hades will knock them down hard too. Cheers and thanks for the recommedation.

Hi Andy, Love your videos and am very much subscribed. I am a late adopter of the Hades (got a bit fed up with all the noise on the internet re airgunning, but have recently re-engaged!). I think you make a great point about Hades or any other ‘funny shaped head pellet’. Some, and Hades in my experience, certainly work out to about 30 yards. Thereafter, its a lottery and a dome head might be best. For my part I value accuracy over anything BC, deformation or weight. In fact, I have a vague feeling that the best pellet for hunting might be the lightest that remains accurate and is of constituents that will deform at any power. I mean that light pellets may hit harder in the sense they more deform more. Maybe that is the Hades? (also maybe a video on that whole subject would be good, particularly for sub 12ftlbs shooting. Accuracy vs weight vs deformation etc. Disbunk the myths. At the end of the day we all want the most humane kill, but in my experience there is a big difference at 30 and 50 yards between a squirrel and for example, a rat. Anyway, I shoot squirrels on a fixed feeder at 28 yards, time after time. The hades in a Daystate Huntsman FAC at or about 18ftlbs is as accurate as its previous most accurate pellet (Weihrauch) and more impactful, it seems. Hades in .177 at 18 ftlbs seems the way to go (provided you only shoot out to 30 yards).

Sadly, there is not (yet) anything in it for me - since still have no .22cal airguns. Still awaiting for the Sig Sauer MCX Virtus .22 PCP to come on the market. While awaiting - I do hope these will be produced in .177cal at some point also.

Until recently I avoided trying the Hades due to bad past experiences with gimmick pellets. I was wrong, the Hades are fantastic at dispatching quarry and more important they are consistently accurate. My only gripe is with long range shots. While still accurate they tend to lose their punch due to speed loss. The Hades have quickly become my new favorite pellet. Wish I had tried them sooner.

Just ordered H and N Barracuda that has similar look. It is a heavier pellet and reported to have harder lead for higher velocity air guns and may not perform for expansion on lower velocity set ups. I will know possibly tomorrow about accuracy and may get to test on pesty groundhogs digging under my garage. Already shot several with a springer and Hatsan Flash QE. Used Crosman HP premiers out of springer at 730 fps. JSB Jumbo Exacts at 930 fps out of Flash.

I did a load of ballistic gel tests in both .177 and .22 with these at sub 12 ft-lbs and whilst they did not deform much they did open up slightly and they routinely did the most damage in the first few inches of gel compared to just about anything else and I've tried a lot. Only the H&N Terminator matched the damage done. I am seriously impressed with these and no accuracy problems at all either.

@Stigstigster
@Stigstigster 3 года назад
They are the only heavier pellet that increased the power in my TX200 as well. Every other heavier than 8 grain pellet has always reduced energy levels but this one increased it despite the extra weight. It had always been the other way around, lighter and faster pellets increase FPE in my springers, heavier ones decrease energy. Interesting! They seem to be an efficient design. No accuracy problems either and in both .177 and .22 so these have become my standard do everything ammo for all my guns. They simply work well in everything. Even my exceptionally fussy .22 Theoben Fenman shoots well with these, getting sub 1 inch groups at 40 yards, something that rifle never managed before. PCP rifle groups are half that size with these which is also excellent.

Andy I had the same experience with the JSB Hades in .25 I am on my 2nd Seneca eagle claw .25 (the first malfunctioned and quit cocking and firing) well before itquit functioning the first shot pretty accurate with JSB exacts 25.39s. When my replacement Eagle claw came Which by the way had a much more beautiful grained stock than the first returned 1 had. ) but the 2nd shot nothing accurate at all after testing maybe 20 different .25 pellets and both cast and swaged slugs Itried the exacts and heavy JSB's no luck with anything an Im sitting here thinking this eagle claw is a dud 2 at least in the accuracy dept. When low an behold some new JSB Hades .25s arrived in the mail. Wow is all I can say. The Hades is certainly this very pellet picky rifles magic pellet. 25 yard they are all either stacked on top of each other in tight groups or many hole in hole! The gun likes nothing but these Hades pellets and I can attest to their extreme accuracy. They are absolutely amazing and a top notch. No body believes H&N Grizzly slugs can be accurate either but I have another rifle a hatsan at44 long QE and it loves those grizzlys and it shoots them amazing even at distances of 100+ meters I have taken many varmints and pests an game! I cant tell yet what gun shoots best at distance as Ive only shot the eagle claw and hades combo at 25 yards an only targets but my at44 long QE and H&N Grizzly combo which is my go to gun for years and can knock a fly off a Squirrels ass at 60 yards may have met its match tho I dont expect the Skirted Diabolo style Hades to shoot as flat or retain the energy at distance the H&N Grizzly does with it's lower balistic coefficient!

I can never understand why people shoot pellets into clays of different types and assume that they represent anything other than shooting into clay. There is a reason why ballistic research organisations use gel made to extremely tight tolerances and that is that, after literally decades of trying everything under the sun, it has been found that only the correct gels come near to representing soft tissue.

the hades is probably one of the scariest hunting round i have seen as it rip through everything without over penetrating

Andy the hades are the best pellet i have ever come across and with no disrespect to other brands, very accurate and devastating for prey.

It would be so much more relevant to test expanding pellets on live quarry! If not live then perhaps freshly killed. Squirrel's would be ideal? Every test I've watched has no realistic result's as nothing compares to the real thing! Just saying!! No intention of malice, always enjoy your vid's 😃

I don't understand why everyone keeps calling them "diablo" when it clearly says "diabolo"? I'm sure most of us know that diablo means devil in Spanish, but diabolo is actually a two headed top that juggles use to use in their act and diabolo actually refers to the shape of the pellet. Phonetically it's pronounced. (Di-buh-low) I know it's useless info and everyone will still call it diablo but thought I'd mention it.

I hear you on this,..but the mispronunciation of a lot of words drives me crazy too,..but that's possibly what the kids were taught in school,..." say it like it sounds " Hardly anybody bothers to understand what's written in front of them these days. " carbeen vs carbine "....Loopold vs LEO pold' etc. etc.

Wow pretty impressive mate. Hopefully il get to try them in 177 soon. I have a question please!, you’re gun stands is the cheaper and good? As half price of the deben one?? Thanks 🙏

Hi, The Deben is easier and more accurate to adjust, but has the side movement issue ( easily spins from left to right) so I adapted mine, putting an adjuster wheel on it to make it more precise. The cheaper one does not have any side movement at all, a better butt grip, but is pretty poor on the elevation adjustment. In other words, they both have their strengths and weaknesses and I have needed to adapt both.

Been using the Hades 177 in my BSA ultra. Walther lgu . lgv and compatto .3 of them have Walther barrels and they never shot as good as the most common pellet I use shot them at 25 m and 50 m not good enough for hunting in my rifles
