I listened to the Myth baby podcast first, then I watched the musical, now I'm reading The Song of Achilles and listening to this. Too much ancient Greek tragedies I have to deal with this week.

"St.Ignatius and St.Francis of Borja contemplate an allegory of the Eucharist" its the full painting, if u look down in the corner u can see the detail that is the video picture :)
As a Pagan, this isn't exactly accurate. Persephone wanted to stay with Hades because he was the only person to ever treat her like an adult and a person. Not only that but if you put your Hades and Persephone candles next to each other, they sometimes lean towards each other like they were leaning on each other's shoulders.
well first of all, there isn't one clear version when it comes to greek mythology. in most versions hades and persephone have a great relationship but there are also some versions where its not so good. so it really depends on who you ask tbh. But you should check out the whole musical! they explain in it why hades and persephone's relationship turned they way it is in here, and their story is really beautifully told in it. its my all time fav musical, and extremely well written!!
I do think that that is true and I personally much prefer that version of the myth, but the gradual descent of Hades and Persephone's' relationship is a major plot point of the musical and it's important because they loved each other so much and their relationship gradually fell apart because they both were so afraid of losing each other. At the end, they do remember how much they loved each other though and so that's why Persephone seems like she doesn't want to join Hades.
