I love how my music taste rn is wildly fluctuating between tired literature student listening to music and daydreaming about going back to the times they’re reading about in the illiad, lost in a magical forest certainly being led to their death by fay but following and dancing along anyways, and rebellious pirate captain who’s ratty but tight-knit crew wants to tear down capitalism.

It took me three rewatches to realize that this is the band that wrote Pompeii

I love how they use Icarus as what his metaphor is. Those young people who dance with danger, maybe driving carelessly, doing extreme sports, or simply drinking too much. Those are the real Icarus, the ones that, by going to an extreme, by "flying too close to the Sun" end up falling to "the sea".
