I always wanted to walk Hadrian's Wall from coast to coast. This summer I got my chance and it was fantastic!

I really enjoyed this final instalment. It’s warm, convivial, informative and visually impressive. I particularly enjoyed the fact it focuses more on the many interesting historical sites. The music works well too. ;)

I didn’t comment on videos until I started watching yours. I loved this walk and the fact that you carried on to Arbeia. We did the same and went to beautiful Tynemouth. We also spent time in Bowness at the start which is also stunning. Many people have been producing videos on their walks along Hadrians Wall including some good ones but this is the best. Your positive outlook and enthusiasm is infectious! What’s next? Please keep doing more.

Thank you David, I am honoured. 🙏 I originally wanted to end at Tynemouth Priory with the view to the lighthouse. However, when I read about Arbeia and saw a photo of the gatehouse I was hooked! What’s next? Well, for you, it’s to watch all my other videos 😂 I’ve got a few new trails prepared…. Positivity is powerful, spread it around 👍 🤠

Justin, thank you for sharing. Another fantastic trip (and some Nuclear Brown Fuel, as we used to call it, at the end). The finale extension to the walk looked really interesting. Can’t wait until the next one. Best wishes 👍🏻

Thanks DS 👍 It was a great experience. Putting the best bits at the end with a good song worked very well. It’s similar to the trailer vids I do for every trail. I used to drink NBA years ago, tasted nice so I’ll have to get some more in the fridge! Cheers 🍺 🤠

Wow - that was really fantastic! First let me say I´m glad to see that you were visible happier - after sleeping in a hotel bed :-). And I definitelty agree with you that it´s worth to go the last 5-6 miles to the sea. That must really be exciting after walking from sea to sea! Congratulations - Gut gemacht! It was a great hike Justin - enjoyed it mate. I'm chuffed you got to the Segedunum Fort and that they re-created it. It would be a bugger to see it covered in graf. Thankfully it's been spared. A well deserved drink at the end there. All the best. Mark

Fantastic. Love the extension. I’ll be doing that. I was born in Co Durham but lived in Manchester all my life. I think it would be good. Do the same time scale. And get mrs Mac etc meet me on day 4. And all do the last stretch together. Cheers. 👌👌👌👌👌

Thanks Daz, I really enjoyed this one. Inspiring on the ridge with the views and the history. The final day was a joy. I always wait for a good weather window and then just go. That's why most of my hikes are sunny!

Hi Justin, probably the best video of walking the wall I've seen! I'm doing the walk at the end of the month and would also like to visit Arabia Fort. It's quite a long walk from walls end and noticed you got a ferry. Do you have the details of where you can get the ferry from? Thank you, Lance.

Thank you Lance 🙏 Make sure you also visit the full size rebuilt wall at Wallsend. Go out the north gate from the Segedunum visitor centre, turn left along the road for about 200m, cross the road, it’s there. I’ll cover the ferry in another message.

Arbeia Fort, Gatehouse and Officers House are all brilliant! 🤩 A magnificent end to the trail. However, the extension to South Shields is not officially part of the National Trail so the acorn signs end at Wallsend. It’s 5 miles to the North Shields Ferry jetty off Duke Street NE29 6LG. Ferries every 30 mins, take 10 mins, cost about £3. From the South Shields ferry jetty to Arbeia is 1 mile but not obviously sign-posted. It’s in Baring St, South Shields NE33 2BB. From there to the beach is half a mile. I can fully recommend the Cicerone guide book for HWP by Mark Richards. It has everything incl. an OS map booklet of the whole trail including the Arbeia extension. From South Shields you can get a Metro back to Newcastle centre direct for about £4. Good luck! 👍
