didn’t realize how fast haidens crash was, kid is gnarly, glad you posted this, i don’t get how nbc got vialle almost landing on the bike and rider and another guy going over that jump but not haiden a few seconds later
right? I understand not following deegan every second (sort of. he's the biggest name in the class), but they had that huge crash from the start. why wasn't one camera on it? weird.
Nah, THEY GOT IT!!! They wouldn't show it because it would get the fan base in an uproar over the flaggers and how horrible they've been. AMA doesn't want to pay them, so they're track workers, or volunteers/locals... I didn't think he crashed at that spot! Absolutely ZERO chance they didn't get that!
I suspected Deegan's 10 sec loss had something to do w that lapper crash but didn't expect that Holy cow. Kid is made of rubber. I'd be in a wheelchair right now. Great catch Matty B and thanks for the trackside footage.
I was wondering what happened to Deegan he was making up time and the gap between him and the riders in front of him until Vialle was 3-4 seconds and then all of a sudden it was a huge gap and Weege and RC didn't say shit, and NBC didn't even show it on the broadcast. They didn't even bring it up it in the post race recap for all four motos that goes on for another 20-30 mins after 450 moto 2, great job NBC...production is a fucking joke
you're not alone scratching your head there. he lost 10+ seconds on the board. it was obvious something happened. not sure how nobody could mention it. also, max anstie got off to a banger start in the 2nd moto. I didn't get any info on what happened to him. lastly, justin cooper crashed on the first lap of the 2nd moto while running up front (he was 2nd in the holeshot?) and they didn't have video of it (but at least the talked about it). not a good day for peacock covering the action.
@@blubug768 yeah. like they can't keep the automated race timer/position graphic up on peacock while nbc is on commercial? tha fuck? I'm paying for peacock. nbc is free.
odd. I saw him drop like 10+ seconds on the board and nobody said anything on the broadcast. figured he went down. hard to believe WHERE he went down. they had that crash site covered...or so i thought. eesh. i mean they even put up the red cross eventually.
@@daneg I thought the same with the time, it’s crazy because that crash is the same one the announcers went over because Vialle and Masterpool came super close and they reviewed that a few times how did they miss the next crash literally 2 seconds later
Yah but Deegan still has a big points gap. That’s why he didn’t do anything crazy in the second moto. I’m sure he knew that and that’s why his time gap didn’t get closer. He was playing it safe if I had to guess. It was a good race though. I still wish he could have done a little better though. But sometimes that’s racing for ya. I do pray that doesn’t happen again though.🤙✌️💯👍🙏☝️💪🫡💣
@@damonforrest1570 watch the crash at the end of this video and it’ll make sense why he slowed down, it’s a bad crash but he walked away safe. That crash happen with 2 min left in the race
Deegan is as tough as they come man. I don’t understand why the broadcast didn’t talk about Deeg’s hard slam. Hunter is tough as well. The flaggers are terrible.
You get what you pay for as far as flaggers, Red Bud won't pay them anything...it just isn't right. He will give you a swag bag of junk and a t-shirt that you'll never wear. Thanks for pointing it out. You are right...
@@Milokitty-en5nb no one cares about the riders, the promoters are truly doing this to make money and have said in meetings that I sat in with on that the riders have already sold their soul, he or she will be here and race regardless of the conditions.
Think they didn't show it as the flagger was asleep and that doesn't look good on TV. Ama are shit. At club racing here in the UK marshals are better ama = money whores
The flagger just stood there and watched both riders go down and had the yellow flag literally in his hand. Didn’t wave it whatsoever. They need to have the same set of experienced flaggers for each national. It isn’t right.
@@SLAYJUCE right. If MX Sports won’t pitch in, have all the manufacturers put something in to fund the flaggers. They need their best riders on track, and that would help make that happen. People/companies these days are sometimes too focused on their own needs/wants, they won’t consider a simply solution.
I figured Deegan got held up by a red cross flag since the broadcast didn't show it. Kids so gnarly i dont see the other riders jumping up like that and getting back up to speed to not lose a position.
@@doglover136_ tbf, if it was jett, he would have been at the front of the race, and there are always cameras on the leader. no shade toward deegs. you'd think they have eyes on him all the time at this point. however, jett always starts top 5, and he's 1st or 2nd by the end of the first lap. so...always at the front.
Deegan could have gone full on David Bailey from that crash, and all because a volunteer flagger wasn’t trained properly and wasn’t qualified to be doing that job! Can you imagine the lawsuit papa Deegs would rain down on ALL parties if the unimaginable happened. The riders, the teams, the fans all deserve better. Is this a professional sport? Act like it AMA, Track & Series Promotors. Protect your assets THE RIDERS! No riders, no race, no bank for you!!!
One of the NBC's worst broadcasts! Just call what you see! Lots of dead air, not watching timing and scoring too busy thinking about b.s. , cut away from great battles to show the hole shot everyone saw already, not mentioning Deegs big crash or much else, weege pre show he goes fan boy on 300 Drew and ignores the rising star C, Hymas standing next to Drew. NBC your peacock is showing!
Get rid of Carmichael and permanently replace with James Stewart. Then get completely rid of that English girl, Will. Then the last thing to do, get rid of the drone crap or at least make sure the drone has 1080P not 320P 720P crap.
I really enjoyed your footage, Matt. It is almost surreal...like having a dream hearing the engines and without the constant chatter of the announcers.
yeah i loved how they had no commentary for a minute throughout the moto, sucks that nbc cable peeps had ads mid moto, the crash was much faster than i thought
@@doglover136_ weird that there was no commentary on him when he dropped like 10+ seconds off the guys he was racing. obviously crashed, but no spotters telling weege or rc anything. glad for matty b though!
the way deegan seen that dude and laid back on the fender to not let the front tire eat that dudes bike is incredible. this kid is something special and i hope everyone realizes this
Lap riders need to move off the track when safety allows for that reason, Deegans conditioning saved him I think from getting hurt really bad. May have had a better finish if it were not for the lapped rider.
lapped riders were a plague in all 4 motos. I think they were really really bad in 450 moto 1. I get it if you're in a race for points. but points only pay back to 21, and there were guys ignoring the blue flags in p40-30. it was a noticeably bad day for lappers for sure.
Since you have connections in the AMA change this complete bullshit lousy flagging, and while you're at it add the rule that should've long been added. If your lapped and down by so much time you need to exit the track you are just a safety hazard for yourself and other riders. Shame on that dude for not moving his bike off the track after he wrecked just sits there, you can see at the other angle. Zero awareness.
What are you on? You wanted kid to run to his bike to get CLAPPED by Deegan on a blind landing face??? That's what flaggers are supposed to prevent. But because the AMA is so cheap, that was probably a local that volunteered and he was just there for the show. Rule that needs to change is HAVE PAYED/EMPLOYED/KNOWLEDGEABLE flaggers.
@@tankeater Facts, I’ve seen many riders jump up and grab their bikes… Deegan did just that. Smith did quite quick as well and many others. But yes AMA cheap AF and I’m tired of it. This is a high level dangerous sport.
@@lllhunterlll9644 truetrue, I get were you're coming from! 💯% just has to do with the situation and how amped you are. And, you don't see it much in AMA or MXGP... But amatures running to a blind landing with poor flaggers has caused some horrible crashes. Plus, he was a Cross Flag the next lap so kid wasn't down to pick his bike up. 😂🤘
We're in the f we're the flagers bike laying on blind side of table great job ama you guys should be fined or penalized for making a drangours situation
I give the kid credit; he didn’t sit there for half an hour like some of the guys. He got back after it. I admit it, I was anti-Deegan at the start of the season but I’m starting to change my mind.
Damn they didnt show that yesterday in the race i didn't even know he had wrecked that bad he is lucky he didnt get hurt where was the flag men at thats bs
Deegan is a cool mofo!! Lad rides with pure heart like a lion keep killing it deegan! So many haters. Don't know how man watched you from minis bro still killing it 🎉
HE is fun to watch, and shows real grit. The problem is he needs eat some humble pie. Be less full of himself. Danger Boy, needs to become Danger Dude.
@dag681 he's just got a way about him an that's it get in ur opponents head is a good tactic to they all fear an know he's coming if he not out front 1st lol class to watch
I had no idea Deegan even went down that's how bad the coverage was during the race . I was wondering why Deeg's wasn't charging to the front like he normally does .
Did not show his crash on TV witch is crap I pay £200 to watch in UK on the pass and did not get see it hopefully he ok now I no y he was not making up time on rest off pack no points lost at all cause chance jumped on red Cross flag hopefully back to himself next race thank matty b for catching it on cctv
I can't stand to hear somebody make excuses for lappers getting in the way. I don't care if they're racing for something too. Go watch the first moto at Hangtown and see what Jett did when the leaders caught up to him. He was racing for the title and his moto win streak and he went off the track to get out of their way. Nobody has more to race for than that.
I feel like after last yr and now this year I’d have to say if any track is Deegs weakness it might be red bud. He struggled there last yr even though he got the over all. Did hear that he wasn’t 100% going into this one but who knows. I’ve seen better flaggers at amateur races in Canada, it’s getting fucking embarrassing for the AMA between that and some of the piss poor coverage.
Deegan is a tough kid man that was super gnarly crash. The first thing he did was get up and run right to that bike and hop on and Shred. So many haters just cuz he came from a family with money that kid puts in the work Blood Sweat and Tears to get where he is. Nothing but respect for haiden Deegan. He literally sacrifices and tell her childhood and some of the best years of his life to be where he is
"You win championships on your worst days".. Deegan popped back up and still went after it to continue to get as many points for the marathon called the Championship. Kudo's for him to get back on the bike after that crash! Definitely helps to be 18 that's for sure!
@@Erick-di9gm oh sh$t you 100% right. I didn’t think of that but now that you’ve said it…. Yeah too cheap to train and pay people that know and understand what’s going on to do the right thing. Contrast what happened with the on track medical dudes reaction when cooper Webb crashed in supercross a couple years ago. I think Dallas??? The guy literally side stepped to avoid getting creamed by the bike while focusing 100% on getting to Webb. Freaking pro. The flag guys got to be willing to step out there and direct
the sport is dangerous enough as it is, the last thing a rider should have to deal with is untrained / ignorant / inept Flag Men..!!!! The race organizers should be ashamed of themselves... I don't care who you are a person can only take so many hits like Haiden did without risking long term effects..
Lappers were bad. And track made it hard because once they were in a rut they couldnt just pull out the way. Maybe they should cut the field down to say 25-30 riders. Still have some but maybe not as bad
Sorry man 😂. Hell i wouldnt be able to finish half a moto i would be spent. Just a perspective i guess. think the gps they only run 20 guys. The track made it tough for the lappers to get out the way and the lead lap riders at the same time trying to get around them
The lapper went down approximately 2-3 seconds before Deegan landed on his bike. I don't think any flagger could of prevented that to be honest. Deegan was likely in the air for 2-3 seconds.
