@@worawatsr9803 for fighting , yes. Caranthir was by far the strongest , which is why they feared him more than Eredin. But the real deal was Ge'els. He was literally running a whole country by himself and keeping the Wild Hunt strong.
Caranthir - The guy who carried the whole team Eredin - The guy with a skin that thinks is cool Imlerith - The one who said that all the others are noobs and dies first Ge’els - The AFK guy
Frost mages are just OP period. Witcher, Warcraft, anime, Disney princess movies... I think the one mile frost nova radius is his most ridiculous ability.
It keeps his image of being a powerful warrior from another dimension. When Eredin took off his mask I suddenly remember that he’s just an Elf wearing a costume from Party City. When Imlerith had his mask off, he still looked intimidating and there was still tension, but he looks like Mr Clean with some face tattoos. Caranthir and Nithral (despite not doing much) were my favorite Wild Hunt members because they never showed their baby ass faces and kept their intimidating image
Considering the fact that this music is basically a modified version of Kaer Mohren's theme, I live this fight as if Geralt were Caranthir's boss battle, not the other way around.
It's also a modified version of the White Orchard combat theme, so its a pretty cool way to bookend the game. A lot of games of that where they buff up a song from the beginning of the game to fight the last boss(es).
Rian Gonzaga Except a dragon, I think. Killing dragons is against Witcher principles. Even though most of the witchers ignore those rules, Geralt has never killed a dragon even when he had the chance.
Lets look at all the things caranthir did; He almost killed Geralt and Keira Metz in avalach's laboratory by summoning the white frost. He beat Eskel, a very skilled swordsman and witcher in an one on one duel. He saved Eredin from ciri's elder blood outburst by pulling him back to their home world through a portal. He almost managed to capture ciri even though she broke his staff. And he almost drowned Geralt while bleeding to death. I say caranthir rules.
You can just tell how important Caranthir was for the Hunt just by the fact that this was the music playing just before the battle at Kaer Morhen, while Geralt was planning the defence. Just listen closely.
I dont mean to burst your bubble, but thats because this is actually just a heavily modified version of Geralts theme. Its the same with a lot of other tracks 'Vagabond' 'Kaer Morhen' and 'After the Storm' just to name a few
@@cosmic2750 He represented the Next Generation of Eugenics Elvenborn indoctrinated out of the Conquest Mentality that continued after King Auberon's demise.
@@worawatsr9803 Not so sure about that. Eskel put a good fight against Caranthir and Geralt is better than him. Ciri also acknowledges that Geralt is better than her when she goes to face the Crones.
@Juan Laise Actually, Eskel is stated to be about Geralt's equal, if not a bit better than him. He's just not in the spotlight like Geralt is. If Ciri hadn't severely injured Caranthir and broken his staff, there's a good chance Geralt would have lost just like Eskel.
@@SevereArtisan What Triss actually said is that Eskel displayed more magical energy than Geralt, Geralt is likely the better swordsman. Anyways, Eskel and Geralt are regarded as equals in the Books, but in the Games Geralt is superior to him. Especially after he further enchances himself in BaW.
when he was dying but he still found the strenght and focus to teleport himself and Geralt at the bottom of the sea, trying to take Geralt with him..ultimate boss move...literally never gave up.
I feel the same way. Caranthir's the reason why the Wild Hunt is such a big threat in the first place since it's mainly his abilities that let the Wild Hunt cross the distances and worlds that they do.
@@shadowreaper4970 true, unfortunatelly Cd project red left this story untold. They admitted they are sorry for leaving story of the Wild Hunt leaders unexposed leaving them pure villains
He's barely a character, the entire Wild Hunt severely lacked characterisation so not sure why he would ever be considered someone's favourite character
Always thought Geralt thawing from the ice after Ciri's fight was so cool. That heavy part at 0:28 started up. Gave me "You mess with the pup, you mess with the wolf" vibes as geralt came down from the ledge. So cool.
You know. In Silmarilion Caranthir is one of the sons of Fëanor renown for his hubris and recklessness. He perished while fighting his Sindarin bretheren in the battle for the halls of Menegroth.
Dumpster Raccoon No you can’t, it’s literally impossible. Someone could try to sue someone else for a name but the outcome will be pretty obvious and just a waste of money
Eredin may have been the most powerful but Caranthir was my favourite member of the Wild Hunt. Still can't forget his epic act at the end of his boss fight, took me completely by surprise.
Nah, the most powerful was Caranthir. The Wild Hunt became a threat thanks to his magic. PS When Ciri unleashed her power after Vesemir's death, Eredin almost died trying to take her with him. He survived just because Caranthir grabbed him and they left with his portal. Look at the cutscenes closely and you will notice that.
@@MT_199 Caranthir was the brains of The Wild Hunt. If he hadn't done that they all would have gotten killed because Eredin was desperate but Caranthir knew when to fold and when to stay.
0:28 and up 🔥. I like how theres multiple Kaer Morhen themes with all different vibes in game and i love every single one of them. This one is prepping for war
Azamandias Have you fought Olgierd Von Everec at the beginning of Hearts Of Stone? That’s the coolest theme for me. I’m asking because you can easily miss that boss fight by choosing the wrong dialogue option
Everytime I play all Witcher Games in the chronologically order the Music here hits different in the Caranthir Bossfight. It feels like the Story has reached the most important Part and everything you witnessed was to prepare you for this Moment.
I've been looking for this for years. Only upon playing through again the past few weeks did I stumble upon the means to find it. My entire body is tingling.
In january it’s gonna be a 1 year since I hit the gym for the last time. On my return I’m playing this track in my AirPods! 0:54 opening the doors and walking straight to machines to bench 20kg!! Gotta have an amazing workout to this song! It’s been a long time since I’ve lifted truly!
My favorite moment is when Geralt tells Vesemir and the witchers that they will make a stand in Kaer Morhen against the Hunt. The camera pushes into the facial expression into Yennefer, Vesemir, Lambert, and Eskel. You can see the determination in their eyes. All the while this song plays in the background

@@shepardvisr2699 True! It would have been nice for Ciri to end that fight though -- or at least finish one of the lieutenants or Eredin himself. In my opinion, at least!
I think this suits better for the idea of 'The Final Battle'. But Imleriths does a better job at conveying the message of 'This thing could kill you in the blink of an eye, and your on your own, with no one to help'
@@lightyagami8645 What does Geralt have to do with this? You said Caranthir defeated enraged Ciri, which is just not true. At least not in the game I played. Ciri was splitting him in half from every possible angle. I just think he got lucky she didn't kill him earlier, before Geralt entered the fight.
@@alexi.674 they fought equally till ciri got a upper hand and threw away the staff and then he grabbed the staff and ciri sword and the staff collided , Knocking ciri out
@@lightyagami8645 Maybe in your playthrough, but for me Caranthir was baby milk when I fought him as Ciri. To be fair, everyone was, as I believe Ciri is very OP and pretty much nobody can stand a chance in front of her.
I had one playthrough where my Caranthir continues fighting me as Geralt unwounded, as he was when he fights Ciri, it actually made the fight easier as I didnt have to fight any Golems.
Caranthir is of course named for one of Feanor’s sons from Tolkien’s ‘Silmarillion.’ I would personally love a game where you play as some elf from Fingolfin’s House and the major bosses are Feanor’s sons and Feanor himself as the final one. If the boss battle against Tolkien’s ‘Dark’ Caranthir is half as great as this one against ‘Golden’ Caranthir, I’d buy it immediately.
I wonder if Caranthir had his own nightmares of failure to stop the coming of the White Frost but with Geralt as the harbinger of doom instead of Eredin
He beat ciri . May not have captured her but she was down for the count. Then he nearly drowned geralt and this was all after taking man handling Eskel. Dudes fierce

Caranthir was for me the "Vran's mage" of the Witcher 3(most difficult opponent in the Witcher 2 in my view) In the dlc we also have an ofieri mage of the same shit. Blood and wine's Detlaff was fearsome until I learned you have to keep distance from the bat attack, after that he was like a schoolgirl.
