"Fight for Old DC" is the most critical line. It needs to be adopted in the new fight song. That's the soul of Washington football. It evokes memories of RFK Stadium and the heydays of the 1980's.

Growing up in Maryland, I became a huge fan of, and still am a huge fan of, the Washington Redskins!! I love them dearly. I have a truly good feeling about 2010 in which they will be at least 8-8. Hail to the Redskins and to all of their fans!!
I was there....Oh I was there!!! My parents allowed me to miss school that day....Jumped on the metro (Orange line Vienna station)...when they came down constitution ave holding that trophy, it was something else!!! OH!!...and at the end of the parade, they tossed about 20 or more Wheates boxes!!! Memories...No memories today obviously and no identity!!!

I’m actually an Eagles fan , but love “Hail to the Redskins”. In high school , that was our mascot, and in the marching band , we used to play HTTR too.

I have this video. Super Bowl XVII, XXII, and XXVI World Champions! 35 points in ONE Quarter!! Doug Williams was IMMORTAL on 01/31/88. But, I LOVE the Redskins! Hearing this song makes me want to watch some Super Bowl XXII highlights or to look to our future and we are going to be 11-5 this coming season and win the east.
I can't argue with your statement. There's nothing like the Marching Band playing this fight song. I miss the Redskin Singers singing the words to it. I also miss the solo trumpet player that used to play at RFK as well the barbershop quartet or quintet that would sing between some of the commercial breaks. As a kid I was dismissive about it...as an adult I long for it. Hail to the Redskins!!!
Hail to the Redskins! That was a sweet victory over Denver in Super Bowl XXII. Down 10-0 and then we exploded. I'd love to see the Redskins return to that glory. Could 2009 be the year that we erupt and make it happen? Why not!?! Go Skins!
if i had to love a team besides the steelers and broncos...how could you not love the skins... they bring that whole college feel into the pros with HAIL TO THE REDSKINS... but damn that 2nd quarter in sb22.. you killed my broncos.
DeAngelo Hall is arguably our best DB right now. Smoot is always getting burned, Springs is always hurt, and Rogers couldn't hang onto a badly thrown ball if it was lobbed to him and he had glue on his hands. I don't feel bad about getting Hall. That was steal imo

No disrespect to the Redskins Marching Band but Sam Spence's version of this fight song is the best! If I were the Redskins owner this and Spence's The Over the Hill Gang song would be played and played often at all the home games!
Seahawks fan since 1987 but always loved your fight song. Best in the NFL. Sad they killed off that DC team’s history going back to Sammy Baugh, it’s heart that were it’s fans, and it’s soul which hadn’t faded until Snyder killed off what Vince Lombardi and George Allen built to be politically correct. @Jay Jones when the Redskins players that were not heading off to the Pro Bowl arrived back from MPLS, a massive championship rally took place at the farthest east end of the National Mall, just in front of U.S. Capitol. Several of the players were there while many of the other players weren't there. Reports in the local daily paper said there were more than 75,000 at the rally, quite a few of them were below age 30, since the novelty had started wearing off for the fans past their twenties of championship celebrations. No parade was held that year! #HTTR

If your boss brings someone that high profile and wants to be paid more money than you to do your job and they put you on night shift. That causes problems. Joe Gibbs, JKC all class. Dan Snyder = trash. Will never go to a super bowl when you bring washed up vets like Alexander and Taylor instead of drafting defensive ends and young running backs in stead of bust WRS. God bless Gibbs and the real redskins. TOO BAD JKC did not give the team to his son.
