I’m having a hard time thinking of a worse invasion of privacy than cutting off chunks of someone’s body to see what they’ve been doing in their free time.
It comes down to the type of job you have. If drug use in your personal time causes impairment while driving or working in a safety sensitive job people will get hurt. Some drugs can linger fare after use. So that is why that type of test is used. If you choose a job with safety risk you have to chose to not use for everyone else sake and the employer has the right to protect their assets from carelessness from employees who use drugs.
This is regarding my 2 year old niece who've I've had custody of for 20 months. The mother is a meth user and we have a trial in February with witnesses stating they did meth with her while she was pregnant. My thought was to do a hair folicle test on my niece since I have custody of her and see what it reveals. I also have her 4 year old daughter and was wondering about her hair as well. I've only trimmed it once in 20 months.
@@rachaelnichols9573 my opinion: a bit overbearing. Everyone is still family. Mother is adult. You've had custody. Trying to make things look good on your part is too excess for you to even do that or bring it up in court. The court would assume your doing right for the kids this whole time. So are the kids asking you to get meth because they got hooked while they were with their mother? I don't see the point. The kids are young and she can clean herself up. Don't raise them having one family issue hanging over your family. You want to banish the mother forever because of this shame. Think about you and you are all family. Shame on you.
This drug test is a complete violation of privacy. Why the hell does it matter if something like marijuana was consumed in a span of three or so months? As long as you're not actively using it shouldn't be a concern. Not to mention all the other person information that can be gained from the metabolites in the "sample".
As an employer in multiple industries, two of them with safety sensitive jobs, I wouldn't agree. I have the right to protect my employees and my assets. It's as much your right to go find an employer who doesn't drug test as mine who does and expects the employees to live drug free and make sober choices while working. The hair test is a way to confirm the fact that someone says "I don't use drug" during the hiring process. SAMSHA and HHS whom certify and govern the workplace drug testing laboratories prevent the misuse of the samples, therefor no other test being performed to provide "personal information"

I just had my hair test done and passed. Smoked a few times 5 weeks prior. It depends if you smoke a lot or not. If you don’t and did it a few times you should be fine.

I failed a drug test. It came positive for codeine but I never took drugs in my life. I immediately went to the lab to do a hair drug test and it all came negative. Can I counter that? Thanks

head hair typically tests back about 90 days - 30 days for each 1/2 inch of head hair. Hair closest to the scalp is newest. minimum of 1 and 1/2 inches required for a hair test using head hair. For body hair, it may go back up to 6 months. about a large cotton ball size of hair for testing using body hair.
Trucker Redd yes as long as you quit, all new growth will be clean. The reason they say about three months is because they test about 1.5 inches of hair from the root. Hair typically grows at a rate of .5 in per month so that’s where the 3 month figure comes from. However, someone with longer hair, a woman for instance, with hair that is 12 inches long could technically fail a test for 2 years give or take if you do the math. That is if she is a continuous consumer of thc. But from my understanding, most labs would only test the first 1.5 inches from the root of her hair and she would most likely pass as long as she has given herself at least those 3-4 months of not smoking to have clean growth that won’t test positive. Hope that makes sense and clears it up for you a bit. Now other hair growth like armpit hair is a different story as it grows at a slower rate and once it’s there it kind of just stays for a long period of time unless it falls out or you shave it.
I did every major step! Just for them to pull from my armpit hair. I won’t know if I passed or failed for about another week.. I hope I passed through the grace of god. I stopped smoking for 16 days..

When i had mine done i was given a list of things that could affect the testing, it included saltine crackers and a ton of shampoos and alot of other random every day items....this is a very bad way to test for drug use

I hear for Every half inch that's 30 days they can track of drug use. So when they say hair follicle can track 90-95 days worth. That's assuming you are giving a 1.5 inch sample But idk. I will soon find out personally.
Kinda sucks because anyone can change and choose not to use a substance anymore. I understand 30 days but 3 months, that's a bit far back in my opinion. So if you've been clean for 60+ days and don't make the 3 month cutoff, you're fucked, even though you haven't been using.

The last time I smoked regularly was in May with the last day of me smoking being May 24th. A week and a half before I took my hair and urine test, I went to a party and got drunk and stupidly started hitting a blunt that was passed to me. I passed my urine and hair test on July 29th and got the job without doing any detox.
So if im going clean and stop smoking and i do a full body wax like 2-3 times and then let it grow out will i still test dirty after 3-6 months? I want to go clean and make all my hair clean. In other words my question is: in the long run, if i stop smoking, shave or wax my hair all over my body, when it grows back, will it come dirty or clean? Please some one give me a straight answer. That's a bit overboard. I can see why you are nervous. The only why to know for sure would be to run a test and see if your hair is clean. 90 days after you stopped using would be the time to run the test.

Will my friend pass a hair test? He stopped smoking 9 weeks ago, he smoked 2-3 times a week a low amount from a thc pen. He works out 4-6 days a week vigorously, eats clean, drinks 8-12 glasses of water a day and trimmed his hair to 1/4 inch before the test. So why do they want it closer to the scalp if you have long hair? The lab is the certified to conduct the test and they're not comparent enough to know if it's your actual hair? The longer your hair the more the can read right.
Multiple reasons; For the purpose of workplace testing 90 days was a standard set by the industry and it also gives a more consistent result. The longer the hair the more inconsistent the results. In order to have scientifically provable processes you have to be able to have consistent results otherwise they could be called into question.

Employers should not consider having no hair to test as a positive test result as doing so would likely open them up to legal issues. They should have an alternative specimen type that can be used instead.

@DecodeThamsg I passed it, I stopped smoking around 8/27/21. They shaved the hair off from the nape of my neck. They also give you the option of taking it from various spots on your head so it blends more. Taking body hair is a last option, if you have no hair from anywhere else.

I was tested positive for cocaine use under a hair drug test. I've never been around people who do cocaine or have ever done cocaine. Could you explain how this was possible?

Need some advice. I got hair tested late May last year and had to tell my school that I smoked and the test did come back positive. Oddly enough I remembered everytime I smoked 90 days prior to the test, and I only got a 1.4 positive pg. The detection is 0.5 but my question is, I’ve been sober from weed for 4 and a half months (140 days) and I know that I’m going to get tested within the next few weeks. Do I risk it and smoke (couple hits of a blunt just to get high) or do I wait until the day of or a couple days after I get tested and smoke but I will get tested 90 ish days after. Personally I’m going to wait but I’m also worried that if I just get high once if it will show up. There’s always the possibility to just wait 7 months until I can smoke again but jeez just to be high one time and be okay. That would be great. Please someone help!

And since I had no body hair or anything they told me to just come back after it’s an inch long which took 2 weeks. What if you are one of the rare humans with Alopecia Universalis? I knew a human male who was in the US Navy (I was a Marine hitching a ride on their LHD-6) and he had Alopecia Universalis. (By knew, I mean I saw him around the ship and he told a navy gal we hung out w/in the smoke pit). Say he goes to work in the refineries in Htown. Almost all hair test. Its nornally an auto F+ if you dont. Would he get a waiver? Alopecia Universalis is zero hair anywhere on your body. We thought he was an alien at first. You should see a human with no eyebrows or eyelashes or hair. Just a bald face. Its odd

I hate these test!!! It's discriminatory because anyone with high melanin pigmentation skin and hair could get a false positive on hair follicle test. I never thought this would happen to me however it did and thank God the 2nd test was negative for all drugs however I spent over $800 to clear my name, I was also treated like an addict !!!
I think this should at least be an opt in scenario for CDL random. Lower the percentage of random screening. The other question... do they clean the hairs before they dissolve and test.
*update* After sustaining for 90 or slightly less days I did pass the hair folicel test. I'm soooo fuccin happy rn. Y'all can do it too does suck but a decent job is worth it.

Most test only look back 90 days. But if they cut more than 1.5 inches of head hair or use body hair it could give up to a year result. Best solution is to have approx 2" of hair on the back of your head after the 90 day mark.
90 days but recommended 120 bc people metabolize the differently, because it stores in fatty tissue. Consumption of water can make a diff to. Many factors.
Got popped for marijuana and I haven’t smoked since high school (2006). Have been around a few smokers here and there but never acually seen them smoke it (would just smell it in the air).
I used CBD for knee pains due to an extended ligament and tendon. I kinda abused the stuff if I'm honest, but that was about 2 months ago. I get tested soon enough to know it will likely show up, but do you think I can explain the situation and usage to my employer? Marijuana us legalized in my state, but I dont do smoke or do anything anymore.
It is really up to the employers policy. CBD will not show up but if it has more than the cut off level of THC that will. Plead your case, but our advice to them is treat everyone the same. Regardless of the policy.
My friends smoked heavily around me and I didn’t smoke, I don’t smoke at all actually but I’m doing a hair drug test tomorrow for a job. I’m really scared I’m going to test positive because I suppose I did inhale it second hand, but I didn’t want to. A simple way to pass is to wait two weeks from last drug use and shave everything. All new hair will be drug free. This method works if you're trying to get ahead of the game, not for last minute.

She mentioned to her friend that she uses a detox drug shampoo and feels confident that she would pass hair follicle drug test by using detox shampoo. Is that true? that a detox shampoo would work? how can I go around that and use different types of samples when testing a female?

@@ryhemepolk3985 I did a avc cleanse then I used ingology detox shampoo and treated my hair once each day for two days before the test and I used zycom detox shampoo I think it was called the day of the test .they typically take some from the back of your head so focus on that part more but still detox your whole head .

It would be up to the policy. We recommend that they do urine and possibly a follow up test randomly on a donor who doesn't have any hair sometime within the next 12 months.

Will the concern is how long is your hair. It is possible the THC is present in the shaft of hair longer than 6 months. Hair Test require approx 2 inch of head hair to cover a 90 day window. Anything longer could give a longer result.

Just cut all your hair down to half a inch and you will be fine hair grow at half a inch per month so assuming your body got all the thc out in 30days you have 30day of clean hair because you stopped smoking 60 days ago. half a inch is 30days worth of hair. They can only go back as far as your hair is long. Remember to cut all your hair even your body hair make it so they have no choice but to take the half inch of hair on your head.
@@lowkey3820 false, 45 to 60 days until clean hair starts growing, thc doesn't get completely out of the system till 45 to 60 days, you may pass a piss test but it'll still be in your system for the days I just Said, and after that your hair will be clean (grow clean)
