Hair Loss after Weight Loss Surgery | Gastric Bypass | hair loss update 

I needed this video. I had surgery in August last year, and I have been losing so much hair. With how much hair comes out in the shower, it's hard not to cry most days. I will continue to remain optimistic. Thanks for answering so many questions about WLS!

Congratulations on your weight loss !! Awesome to see you! My RNY was in Oct/2020, ( so just over 3 yrs) I also have hypothyroidism, (pre-existing, which also causes hair loss) ) and still experiencing hair loss. Yes I have re growth, which I can see, but my hair is very thin, especially at the front hair line and back. Yes as you age, your hair thins out, and I am not young. I am giving collagen a try and have been using it for about 4 months, but see no improvement. I have tried some hair oils as well, but no great improvement with it. I sometimes struggle a bit with getting enough protein as I am a fussy eater and not a big meat eater. I think it is ok to try different hair stuff, but this is Just something I will have to live with and I am ok with that.

I am 5 months Postop now after my Gastric Bypass Surgery. But I did loose some already before, cause thyroid sickness. Now I am shedding so much. And as you said, in the shower it's so visible. Plus there is hair everywhere I am! 😆 Hopefully it will calm down. And I do take my special supplements and keep my score on my protein intake. Thanks for the information. ❤

I’ve been watching you for soooooooo many years before you graduated 😭. May I ask why as you ok medication? I had gastric sleeve a year and a half ago and lost 98lbs so far still needs 46 lbs to lose and I’ve been in plateau for over 5 months . My food intake is good no complications . I’m trying not to be discouraged but it’s breaking my heart. Does medication help ? Is your intake a lot that you need medication. Sorry for so many questions feel free to ignore if you don’t want to answer 💜
