Nikki talks about the 2 hits on Theatre of Pain (the ballad and the cover) for keeping the band from falling apart, *not* 2 hits on Girls, Girls, Girls. Girls was a rebound for the band.

Till the Livin’ End and Kiss of Death by Dokken as well as Drive Me Crazy by Ratt are a few songs that have always struck me as just a bit heavier than their regular stuff. Those three songs are still among my favorites and are awesome work out tunes. Great topic, Guru!

Hey Anthony I have to tell you that ever since I first started watching your videos about a month ago I notice how much you are like my friend Brent a guy who lives near me in burien, Washington. He is a total metal head. He even has long rocker hair. He has always talked to me with great fan enthusiasm about metal music from the '70s, '80s, and '90s. So there is something about the way you talk about it with enthusiasm, your communication style and even the way you say fuc5 is the way he says it so in an exasperated way, all these things are like him. So because of these commonalities between you guys listening to your videos always gives me great comfort and pleasure because you really remind me of him.

If we are talking Warrant and Jani RIP, then I'm throwing in "Hole in my wall" One of the heaviest songs by the band imo ❤

Some heavy tunes: One For the Road - Tora Tora Russian Roulette - Southgang Misery Loves Company - Lillian Axe Shotgun Sally - Cats In Boots Back On the Bitch - Spread Eagle Judgement Day - Van Halen The reason Misery by Southgang goes softer at the end is because it’s a callback to the previous song The Call. The Call leads into Misery and the end of Misery brings it back. Both songs go together.

Jackyl is a great band saw them 3x over the years. The Steelheart choice is spot on. Saw them way back in the day. Awesome band.

Great video! I believe Kill or Be Killed by Twisted Sister from Come out and Play is real catchy, heavy song. Maybe their best one. If it is Hair Metal.

Tough topic to try to pick only a few. The obvious tracks are picks from Skid Row's Slave to The Grind album as well as Warrant's Dog Eat Dog. There is some great stuff off the first Vinnie Vincent Invasion album such as "Shoot You Full Of Love" and "Animal" that are heavy on the guitar riffs. Overall I don't consider Judas Priest a Hair Metal band, but the Turbo album was very commercial sounding and the band was teasing their hair, etc. at this time. "Reckless" is a really heavy track off that album. Dokken "Lightning Strikes Again", Keel "United Nations", Black N Blue "Nasty Nasty", and Bulletboys "Hard As a Rock" are some good choices too. Loudness "SDI" and "Clockwork Toy" are great too.

I loved the first 2 d-a-d albums, last couple of songs i listened to from them was you won't change and monster philosophy. My favorite song is grow or pay. I just paused and went watched their old video's i forgot some were like cartoons awesome to know i am not the only d-a-d fan that i know now. You talk about some of my favs from the era that my friends never heard of or got into. Sleeze beez D-a-d But all the Gotthard albums with steve lee is my most favorite band that most dont know of.

With that in mind Hinder deserve some love from the Hair Metal community imo.

Yet another video idea: The Fringe Bands/Albums. Were they really Hair Metal or were they something else?

Skid Row- Slave to the grind and warrant- inside out are monster songs. Damn I love these bands. I saw both bands multiple times throughout the years but when I saw warrant on the cherry pie tour here in Ohio I was 18 years old and when they opened up with inside out I was like what song is this and they were jamming and my adrenaline was running high and I didn’t even know the song so that’s big deal stuff and then dog eat dog came out and as soon as I heard that I was like I heard this live . It was pretty cool that they did that. And saw skid row on the slave tour and they opened up with slave and it had me so charged up lol. I just love this music so much and dig your channel brother. I relate to your enthusiasm for these bands🤘🏼

I like harder edges , along with the big choruses from the genre . With that said , Slave to The Grind has the balance . Living On a Chain Gang is killer . Motley 94 with Hooligan and Poison Apples , heavy with the hook. Human Beings was cool from Van Halen . Where There’s A Whip , Faster Pussycat .. Bulletboys THC Groove and Freakshow .

Another great video. Great to see Wings of Tomorrow by Europe mentioned here, bizarre, i thought this album only had a european release and then in Japan, never thought it made the shelves in the USA wow. The drummer on this album was Tony Reno, Ian Haugland was then recruited for the Wings tour and is still in the band, in fact, all orihinal members are still together.

You talk about Hair Metal living in high school basketball. I was floored 5 months ago. Was at a small town venue where my son was playing JV, and it was pre-game warmups, and they played Banshee from the new Extreme album, followed by Desparado off the new Winger album. Blew me away.

I always thought one of Bon Jovi’s song if I was your mother off from their Keep the Faith album was pretty damn heavy. It has some slowness in it but damn it kicks in heavy and they have a song called hey god off their These Days album that is also heavy

Another video idea for you… you have said a few times how if GnR just released one Illusions album and picked the best songs, it may have matched AFD… this was my first thought when i bought both in 92, along with many of my friends… so… a video where you select 13 songs from the two Illusions that would make an album as good as AFD.

New video, awesome. I was a huge slayer fan and while you don't really hear it on the albums their early stage show was very reminiscent of W.A.S.P. and included mascara and synchronized head banging. This was cut out shortly after the release of their debut album. Many Slayer fans ignore this point in their history. I loved the act.

Fist two songs that come to my mind when seeing this title are Machine Gun by Warrant and Deepfreeze by Lillian Axe. The last minute of Deepfreeze literally melts my face every time I hear it.

Warrant's song " Inside Out" from Dog Eat Dog is heavy as fudge and unexpected from the band.

I loved it when my favorites released something that was just unexpectedly blistering. Dug everything you guys brought up, Bon Jovi also had a super heavy riff (the riff is heavier than the tune) with Lay Your Hands On Me. Some of my faves are SLAUGHTER - KILLING TIME (off of Back To Reality after Tim Kelly’s passing). SPREAD EAGLE - SCRATCH LIKE A CAT (just face melting). WHITE LION - WARSONG (heavy lyrics and music). STRYPER - NOT THAT KIND OF GUY ( when they sort of dropped the religion for the album Against The Law). TRIXTER - ROCKING HORSE (from the criminally underrated Hear). CHILDS PLAY - RAT RACE ( in your face debut from a forgotten band). WHITESNAKE - BAD BOYS ( just an absolute flurry of guitar notes , rhythm and lead). DLR - SHYBOY ( yeah it’s a Talas cover but damn). TESLA - COMING ATCHA LIVE (nonstop from beginning to end). And last but certainly not least, WARRANT - SURE FEELS GOOD TO ME ( it would be easy to pick from Ultraphobic or Belly To Belly where the were starting to roll with the times but this was the first album and just crushed)
