Hi sultry1231, No, he only used the curly whip on her hair. It was applied right after he shampooed her and she sat under the dryer for a bit - but came out while the curls were still damp (I suspect that's where the steam came from). Standing next to them, the dryer didn't seem that hot to me - but Charrell can tell you herself as soon as she gets a chance to comment!

@Hajalin Yes, it's steam and he did not (and would not!) damage her hair LOL! As for your hair question, it's hard for me to say because I have no idea what your hair is like - we all have ideas about our hair that may or may not translate to others. I would suggest finding a natural hair care expert in your area and getting a consultation. Of course, if you are in New York, I highly recommend Dickey so he can see and feel your hair. My best guess is the Turbo Power Twin Turbo 2800. It's on Amazon. But judging from the shape, the filter, and that red mark, it looks exactly like the Turbo Power dryer. It also looks like he's using a Solano gold nozzle on the dryer. A little mix-and-match going on :)

Hi anaturalbeauty3, No, he didn't use anything else that day. As I mentioned in a comment below, after Dickey shampooed her hair, he put the Curly Whip in and Charrell sat under the dryer. She came out when the curls were still slightly damp and that's when he did the blowdrying to "elongate" the curls. Thanks for stopping by!
